mahabharat: udyog parv: shath-triansh adhyay: shlok 47-63 ka hindi anuvad
  • sukh-du:kh, utpatti-vinash, labh-hani aur jivan-maran- ye kramash: sabako prapt hote haian; isaliye dhir purush ko inake liye harsh aur shok nahian karana chahiye. (47)
  • ye chh: indriyaan bahut hi chanchal haian; inamean se jo-jo indriy jis-jis vishay ki or badhati hai, vahaan-vahaan buddhi usi prakar kshin hoti hai, jaise phoote gh de se pani sada choo jata hai. (48)
  • dhritarashh‍tr ne kaha- vidur! sookshh‍m dharm se bandhe hue, shikha se sushobhit hone vale raja yudhishthir ke sath maianne mithh‍ya vyavahar kiya hai; at: ve yuddh karake mere moorkh putroan ka nash kar daleange. (49)
  • mahamate! yah sab kuchh sada hi bhay se udvign hai, mera yah man bhi bhay se udvign hai; isaliye jo udveg-shoony aur shant pad[1]ho, vahi mujhe batao. (50)
  • vidur ji bole- pap shoony naresh! vidya, tap, indriy-nigrah aur lobh tyag ke siva aur koee apake liye shanti ka upay maian nahian dekhata. (51)
  • buddhi se manushh‍y apane bhay ko door karata hai, tapasya se mahatpad ko prapt hota hai, gurushushroosha se jnan aur yog se shanti pata hai. (52)
  • moksh ki ichchha rakhane vale manushh‍y dan ke punh‍y ka ashray nahian lete, ved ke punh‍y ka bhi ashray nahian lete; kiantu nishh‍kam-bhav se rag-dvesh se rahit ho is lok mean vicharate rahate haian. (53)
  • samyak adhh‍yayan, nyayochit yuddh, punh‍yakarm aur achchhi tarah ki huee tapasya ke ant mean sukh ki vriddhi hoti hai. (54)
  • rajan! apas mean phoot rakhane vale log achh‍chhe bichhaunoan se yukh‍t palang pakar bhi kabhi sukh ki niand nahian so pate; unh‍hean striyoan ke pas rahakar tatha soot-magadho dvara ki huee sh‍tuti sunakar bhi prasanh‍nata nahian hoti.(55)
  • jo parash‍par bhedabhav rakhate haian, ve kabhi dharm ka acharan nahian karate. ve sukh bhi nahian pate. unh‍hean gaurav nahian praph‍t hota tatha unh‍hean shaanti ki varta bhi nahian suhati. (56)
  • hit ki bat bhi kahi jay to unh‍hean achh‍chhi nahian lagati. unake yogakshem ki bhi siddhi nahian ho pati. rajan! bhedabhav vale purushoan ki vinash ke siva aur koee gati nahian hai.(57)
  • jaise gauoan se doodh, brahman mean tap aur yuvati striyoan mean chanchalata ka hona adhik samh‍bhav hai, usi prakar apane jatibanh‍dhuoan se bhay hona bhi samh‍bhav hi hai. (58)
  • nith‍y sianchakar badhayi huee patali lataean bahut hone ke karan varshoan tak nana prakar ke jhoanke sahati haian; yahi bat sh‍tapurushoan ke vishay mean bhi samajhani chahiye[2] (59)
  • bharatashreshh‍th dhritarashh‍tr! jalati huee lak diyaan alag-alag hone par dhuaan pheankati haian aur ek sath hone par prajh‍valit ho uthati haian. isi prakar jatibandhu bhi[3]phoot hone par du:kh uthate haian aur ekata hone par sukhi rahate haian. (60)
  • dhritarashh‍tr! jo log brahmanoan, striyoan, jati valoan aur gauoan-par hi shoorata prakat karate haian, ve danthal se pake hue phaloan ki bhaanti niche girate haian. (61)
  • yadi vriksh akela hai to vah balavan, dridhamool tatha bahut b da hone par bhi ek hi kshan mean aandhi ke dvara balapoorvak shakhaoan sahit dharashayi kiya ja sakata hai. (62)
  • kiantu jo bahut-se vriksh ek sath rahakar samooh ke roop mean kh de haian, ve ek-doosare ke sahare b di-se-b di aandhi ko bhi sah sakate haian. (63)
