sanjay ko yudhishthir ka uth‍tar

yudhishthir bole-sanjay! sab prakar ke karmo mean dharm hi shreshh‍th hai. yah jo tumane kaha hai, vah bilakul thik hai. isamean rath‍tibhar bhi sandeh nahian hai; parantu maian dharm kar raha hooan ya adharm, is bat ko pahale achh‍chhi tarah jan lo; phir meri nianda karana. kahian to adharm hi dharm ka roop dharan kar leta hai, kahian poornataya dharm hi adharm dikhayi deta hai tatha kahian dharm apane vash‍tavik sh‍varoop ko hi dharan kiye rahata hai. vidvan purush apani buddhi se vichar karake usake asali roop ko dekh aur samajh lete haian. is prakar jo yah vibhinh‍n varnoan ka apana-apana lakshan (liang)[1]hai, vah thik usi prakar us-us varn ke liye dharmaroop hai aur vahi doosare varn ke liye adharmaroop hai. is prakar y‍dyapi dharm aur adharm sada sunishchitiroop se rahate haian tathapi apattikal mean ve doosare varn ke lakshan ko bhi apana lete haian. pratham varn brahman ka jo vishesh lakshan[2]hai, vah usi ke liye pramanabhoot hai[3].

sanjay! apaddharmaka kh‍ya sh‍varoop hai, use tum [4] jano. prakriti [5] ka sarvatha lop ho janepar jis vritti ka ashray lene se (jivan ki raksha evan) sath‍karmoan ka anushh‍than ho sake, jivikahin purush use avashh‍y apanane ki ichh‍chha karean. sanjay! jo prakritish‍th [6] hokar bhi apaddharmaka ashray leta hai, vah[7] niandaniy hota hai tatha jo apattigrash‍t hone par bhi [8] jivika nahian chalata hai, vah[9]garhaniy hota hai. is prakar ye donoan tarah ke log nianda ke patr hote haian. soot! [10] brahmanoan ka nash n ho jay, aisi ichh‍chha rakhane vale vidhata ne jo [11]prayashchit karane ka vidhan kiya hai, us par drishtipat karo. phir yadi ham apattikal mean bhi (sh‍vabhavik) karmoan mean hi lage hoan aur apattikal n hone par bhi apane varn ke viparit karmoan mean sthit ho rahe hoan to us dasha mean hamean dekhakar tum (avashh‍y) hamari nianda karo.

manishi purushoan ko sath‍v adi ke bandhan se mukh‍t hone ke liye sada hi sath‍purushoan ka ashray lekar jivan-nirvah karana chahiye, yah unake liye shash‍triy vidhan hai. panratu jo brahman nahian hai tatha jinaki brahmavidya mean nishh‍tha nahian hai, un sabake liye sabake samip apane dharm ke anusar hi jivika chalani chahiye. yajn ki ichh‍chha rakhane vale mere poorv pita-pitamah adi tatha unake bhi poorvaj usi margapar chalate rahe [12] tatha jo karm karate haian, ve bhi usi marg se chalate aye haian. maian bhi nastik nahian hooan, isaliye usi marg par chalata hooan; usake siva doosare marg par vishvas nahian rakhata hooan.
