apatigrash‍t raja ke kartavh‍y ka varnan

yudhishthir ne poochha- bharatananh‍dan! jisaki sena aur dhan-samh‍patti kshin ho gayi hai, jo alasi haian, banh‍dhu-banh‍dhavoan par adhik daya rakhane ke karan unake nash ki ashh‍anka se jo unh‍hean sath lekar shatru ke sath yuddh nahian kar sakata, jo manh‍tri adi‍ ke charitr par sandeh rakhata hai athava jisaka charitr sh‍vayan bhi shankash‍pad haian, jisaki manh‍trana guph‍t nahian rah saki hai, use doosare logoan ne sun liya hai, jisake nagar aur rashtr ko kee bhagoan mean baantakar shatruoan ne apane adhin kar liya hai, isiliye jisake pas dravh‍y ka bhi sangrah nahian rah gaya hai, dravh‍yabhav ke karan hi samadar n pane se jisake mitr sath chho d chuke haian, manh‍tri bhi shatruoan dvara pho d liye gaye haian, jis par shatrudal ka akraman ho gaya ho, jo durbal hokar balavanh shatru ke dvara pi dit ho aur vipatti mean p dakar jisaka chitt ghabara utha ho, usake liye kaun-sa kary shesh rah jata hai?- use is sankat se mukh‍t hone ke liye kh‍ya karana chahiye?

bhishh‍m ji ne kaha- rajan! yadi vijay ki ichh‍chha se akraman karane vala raja bahar ka ho, usaka achar-vichar shuddh ho tatha vah dharm aur arth ke sadhan mean kushal ho to shighratapoorvak usake sath sandhi kar leni chahiye aur jo gram tatha nagar apane poorvajoan ke adhikar mean rahe hoan, ve yadi akramanakari ke hath mean chale gaye hoan to use madhur vachanoan dvara samajha-bujhakar usake hath se chhu dane cheshta kare. jo vijay chahane vala shatru adharmaparayan ho tatha balavan hone ke sath hi papapoorn vichar rakhata ho, usake sath apana kuchh khokar bhi sandhi kar lene ko hi ichh‍chha rakhe. athava avashh‍yakata ho to apani rajadhani ko bhi chho dakar bahut-sa dravh‍y dekar us vipatti se par ho jay. yadi vah jivit rahe to rajochit gun se yukh‍t hone par pun: dhan ka uparjan kar sakata hai. khajana aur sena ka th‍yag kar dene se hi jahaan vipattiyoan ko par kiya ja sake, aisi paristhitiyoan mean kaun arth aur dharm ka jnata purush apani sabase adhik moolh‍yavan vash‍tu sharir ka th‍yag karega? shatru ka akraman ho jane par raja ko sabase pahale apane anh‍t:pur ki raksha ka prayath‍n karana chahiye. yadi vahaan shatru ka adhikar ho jay, tab udhar se apani moh-mamata hata leni chahiye, kh‍yoanki shatru ke adhikar mean gaye hue dhan aur parivar par daya dikhana kis kam ka? jahaan tak samh‍bhav ho, apane-ap ko kisi tarah bhi shatru ke hath mean nahian phansane dena chahiye.

yudhishthir ne poochha- pitamah! yadi bahar rashtr aur durg adi par akraman karake shatru use pi da de rahe hoan aur bhitar manh‍tri adi bhi kupit ho, khajana khali ho gaya ho aur raja ka gupt rahash‍y sabake kanoan mean p d gaya hoan, tab use kh‍ya karana chahiye?

bhishh‍m ji ne kaha- rajan! us avash‍tha mean raja ya to shighr hi sandhi ka vichar kar le athava jalh‍di-se-jalh‍di du:sah parakram prakat karake shatru ko rajh‍y se nikar bahar kare, aisa udyog karate samay yadi kadachit mrith‍yu bhi ho jay to vah paralok mean mangalakari hoti hai.
