mahabharat: udyog parv: trishashtitam adhyay: shlok 1-17 ka hindi anuvad
duryodhan dvara apane paksh ki prabalata ka varnan karana aur vidur ka dam ki mahima batana
- duryodhan bola-pitamah! manushhyoan mean ham aur panhdav shiksha ki drishti se saman haian, hamara janhm bhi ek hi kul mean hua hai; phir ap yah kaise manate haian ki yuddh mean ekamatr kuantikumaroan ki hi vijay hogi. (1)
- bal, parakram, samavayashkata, pratibha aur shashtrajnan in sabhi drishtiyoan se ham log aur panhdav saman hi haian. (2)
- ashtr-bal, yoddhoan ke sangrah, hathoan ki phurti tatha yuddh-kaushal mean bhi ham aur ve ek-se hi haian, sabhi saman jati ke haian aur sabake sab manushhy yoni mean hi uthpanhn hue haian. (3)
- dadaji! aisi dasha mean bhi ap kaise janate haian ki vijay kuantiputroan ki hi hogi. maian ap, dronachary, kripachary, bahlik tatha anhy rajaoan ke parakram ka bharosa karake yuddh ka aramhbh nahian kar raha hooan. (4)
- maian vikartan putr karn tatha mera bhaee du:shasan ham tin hi milakar yuddhabhoomi mean paanchoan panhdavoan ko tikshhn banoan se mar daleange. (5)
- rajan! tadanantar paryapht dakshin vale mahayajnoan ka anushhthan karake gayean, gha de aur dhan dan mean lekar brahmanoan ko tripht karooanga. (6)
- jaise vhyadh harin ke bachhchoan ko jal ya phande mean phansakar khianchate haian aur jaise jal ka pravah karndhar rahit nauka-rohiyoan ko bhanvar mean dubo deta hai, usi prakar jab mere sainik apane bahubal se panhdavoan ko pi dit kareange, us samay rath aur hathi savaroan se bhari huee meri vishal vahini ki or dekhate hue ve panhdav aur vah shrikrishhn sab apana ahankar thyag deange. (7-8)
- vidur ne kaha- sidvaant ke janane vale vriddh purush kahate haian ki sansar mean dam hi kalhyan ka param sadhan hai. brahman ke liye to vishesharoop se hai. vahi sanatan dharm hai. (9)
- jo dam roopi gun se yukht hai, usi ko dan, kshama aur siddhi ka yatharth labh prapht hota hai; khyoanki dam hi dan, tapasya, jnan aur shvadhhyay ka samhpadan karata hai. (10)
- dam tej ki vriddhi karata hai. dam pavitr evan uthtam sadhan hai. dam se nishhpap evan badhe hue tej se samhpanhn purush parabrahm paramatma ko prapht kar leta hai. (11)
- jaise maansabhoji hiansak pashuoan se sab jiv darate rahate haian, usi prakar adaant[1] purushoan se sabhi praniyoan ko sada bhay bana rahata hai, jinako hiansa adi dushhkarmoan se rokane ke liye brahmaji ne kshatriy jati ki srishti ki hai. (12)
- charoan ashramoan mean dam ko hi uthtam vrat bataya gaya hai. yah dam jin purushoan ke abhhyas mean akar unake abhhyuday ka karan ban jata hai, unamean prakat hone vale chihnoan ka maian varnan karata hooan. (13)
- rajenhdr! jis purush mean kshama, dhairy, ahiansa, samadarshita, sathy, saralata, indriyasanyam, dhirata, mriduta, lajhja, sthirata, udarata, akrodh, santosh aur shraddha-ye gun vidyaman haian, vah purush daant [2] mana gaya hai. (14-15)
- damanashil purush kam, lobh, abhiman, krodh, nidra, athmaprashansa, man, eershhya tatha shok-in durgunoan ko apane pas nahian phatakane deta. kutilata aur shathata ka abhav tatha athmashuddhi yah damayukht purush ka lakshan hai. (16)
- jo nirlobh, kam se kam chahane vala, bhogoan ke chiantan se door rahane vala tatha samudr ke saman gamhbhir hai, us purush ko daant[3] kaha gaya hai. (17)
