maans n khane se labh aur ahiansa dharm ki prashansa

yudhishthir kahate haian- pitamah! b de khed ki bat hai ki sasar ke ye nirdayi manushy achchhe-achchhe khady padarthoan ka parityag karake mahan rakshasoan ke saman maans ka svad lena chahate haian. bhaanti-bhaanti ke malapoooan, nana prakar ke shakoan tatha rasili mithaiyoan ki bhi vaisi ichchha nahian rakhate, jaisi ruchi maans ke liye rakhate haian.

prabho! purushapravar! atah maian maans n khane se hone vale labh aur use khane se hone vali haniyoan ko punah sunana chahata hooan. dharmajn pitamah! is samay dharm ke anusar yathavat roop se yahaan sab batean thik-thik bataiye. isake siva yah bhi kahiye ki bhojan karane yogy kya vastu hai aur bhojan n karane yogy kya vastu hai. pitamah! maans ka jo svaroop hai, yah jaisa hai, isaka tyag kar dene mean jo labh hai aur ise khane vale purush ko jo dosh prapt hote haian- ye sab batean mujhe bataiye.

bhishm ji ne kaha- mahabaho! bharatanandan! tum jaisa kahate ho thik vaisi hi bat hai. kauravanandan! maans n khane mean bahut-se labh haian, jo vaise manushyoan ko sulabh hote haian; maian bata raha hooan; suno.

jo doosare ke maans se apana maans badhana chahata hai, usase badhakar nich aur nirdayi manushy doosara koee nahian hai. jagat mean apane pranoan se adhik priy doosari koee vastu nahian hai. isaliye manushy jaise apane oopar daya chahata hai, usi tarah doosaroan par bhi daya kare. tat! maans bhakshan karane mean mahan dosh hai; kyoanki maans ki utpatti viry se hoti hai, isamean sanshay nahian hai. atah usase nivritt hone mean hi puny bataya gaya hai.

kauravanandan! is lok aur paralok mean isake saman doosara koee puny kary nahian hai ki is jagat mean samast praniyoan par daya ki jaye. is jagat mean dayalu manushy ko kabhi bhay ka samana nahian karana p data. dayalu aur tapasvi purushoan ke liye ihalok aur paralok donoan hi sukhad hote haian. dharmajn purush yah janate haian ki ahiansa hi dharm ka lakshan hai. manasvi purush vahi karm kare, jo ahiansatmak ho. jo dayaparayan purush sampoorn bhootoan ko abhay dan deta hai, use bhi sab prani abhay dan dete haian. aisa hamane sun rakha hai. vah ghayal ho, l dakh data ho, gir p da ho, pani ke bahav mean khianchakar baha jata ho, ahat ho athava kisi bhi sam-visham avastha mean p da ho, sab prani usaki raksha karate haian.

jo doosaroan ko bhay se chhu data hai, use n hiansak pashu marate haian aur n pishach tatha rakshas hi us par prahar karate haian. vah bhay ka avasar ane par usase mukt ho jata hai. pranadan se badhakar doosara koee dan n hua hai aur n hoga. apane atma se badhakar priyatar vastu doosari koee nahian hai. yah nishchit bat hai. bharatanandan! kisi bhi prani ko mrityu abhisht nahian hai; kyoanki mrityu kal mean sabhi praniyoan ka sharir turant kaanp uthata hai. is sansar-samudr mean samast prani sada garbhavas, janm aur budhapa adi ke duahkhoan se duahkhi hokar charoan aur bhatakate rahate haian. sath hi mrityu ke bhay se udvign raha karate haian.
