jnanayog aur karmayog adi samash‍t sadhanoan ke anusar kartavh‍y karm karane ki avashh‍yakata ka pratipadan evan sh‍vadharm palan ki mahima tatha kamanirodh ke upay ka varnan

samh‍banh‍dh- doosare adhh‍yay mean bhagavanh ne ashochh‍yananh‍vashochash‍th‍vamh[1] se lekar dehi nitayamavadhh‍yoayamh[2] tak ath‍matth‍v ka niroopan karate hue saankhh‍yayog ka pratipadan kiya aur buddhiyoange tvimaan shrrinu[3] se lekar tada yogamavaph‍sh‍yasi[4] tak samabuddhi roop karmayog ka varnan kiya. isake pashchat chauvanavean shh‍lok se adhh‍yay ki samapt‍i paryanh‍t arjun ke poochhane par bhagavanh ne samabuddhi roop karmayog ke dvara parameshvar ko praph‍t hue sthitaprajn siddh purush ke lakshan, acharan aur mahatth‍v ka pratipadan kiya. vahaan karmayog ki mahima kahate hue bhagavanh ne saiantalisavean aur a datalisavean shh‍lokoan mean karmayog ka sh‍varoop batalakar arjun ko karm karane ke liye kaha, unchasavean mean samabuddhi roop karmayogi ki apeksha sakam karm ka sh‍than bahut hi nicha batalaya, pachasavean mean sam‍buddhiyukt purush ki prashansa karake arjun ko karmayog mean lagane ke liye kaha, ikh‍yavanavean mean samabuddhiyukt jnani purush ko anamay pad ki prapti batalayi. is prasang ko sunakar arjun usaka yatharth abhipray nishchit nahian kar sake. buddhi shabh‍d ka arth jnan man lene se unh‍hean bhram ho gaya, bhagavanh ke vachanoan mean karm ki apeksha jnan ki prashansa pratit hone lagi evan ve vachan unako sh‍pasht n dikhaee dekar mile hue se jan p dane lage. atev bhagavanh ne unaka sh‍pashtikaran karavane ki aur apane liye nishchit shreyasadhan janane ki ichh‍chha se arjun poochhate haian.

arjun bole- he jarnadan! yadi apako karm ki apeksha jnan shreshh‍th manh‍y hai to phir he keshav! mujhe bhayankar karm mean kh‍yoan lagate haian? ap mile hue se vachanoan se meri buddhi ko mano mohit kar rahe haian.[5] isaliye us ek bat ko nishchit karake kahiye, jisase mean kalh‍yan ko prapt ho jaooan. samh‍banh‍dh- is prakar arjun ke poochhane par bhagavanh unaka nishchit kartavh‍y bhaktipradhan karmayog batalane ke uddeshh‍y se pahale unake prashn ka uttar dete hue yah dikhalate haian ki mere vachan vh‍yamishr arthath mile hue nahian hai varan sarvatha sh‍pasht aur alag alag haian.

shri bhagavanh bole- he nishh‍pap! is lok mean do prakar ki nishtha pahale kahi gayi hai. unamean se saankhh‍yayogiyoan ki nishtha to jnanayog se[6] aur yogiyoan ki nishtha karmayog se[7] hoti hai. manushh‍y n to karmoan ka aramh‍bh kiye bina nishh‍karmata ko yani yoganishh‍tha ko praph‍t hota hai aur n karmoan ke kaval th‍yag matr se siddhi yani saankhh‍yanishtha ko hi praph‍t hota hai.[8] ni:sandeh koee bhi manushh‍y kisi bhi kal mean kshanamatr bhi bina karm kiye nahian rahata; kh‍yoanki sara manushh‍y samuday prakritijanit gunoan dvara paravash hua karm karane ke liye badhh‍y kiya jata hai.[9] samh‍banh‍dh- poorv shh‍lok mean yah bat kahi gayi ki koee bhi manushh‍y kshanamatr bhi karm kiye bina nahian rahata; is par yah shanka hoti hai ki indriyoan ki kriyaoan ko hath se rokakar bhi to manushh‍y karmoan ka th‍yag kar sakata hai. is par kahate haian- jo moodhabuddhi manushh‍y samash‍t indriyoan ko hathapoorvak oopar se rokakar man se un indriyoan ke vishayoan ka chinh‍tan karata rahata hai, vah mithh‍yachari arthat dammi kaha jata hai.[10]

  6. prakriti se uth‍panh‍n samh‍poorn gun hi gunoan mean barat rahe haian (gita3.28), mera inase kuchh bhi samh‍banh‍dh nahian hai- aisa samajhakar man, indriy aur sharir dvara hone vali samash‍t kriyaoan mean kartapan ke abhiman se sarvatharahit ho jana; kisi bhi kriya mean ya usake phal mean kichiantamatr bhi arhata, mamata, asakti aur kamana ka n rahana tatha sachh‍ch‍idananh‍d brahm se apane ko abhinh‍n samajhakar niranh‍tar paramath‍ma ke sh‍varoop mean sthit ho jana arthat brahmabhoot (brahmash‍varoop) ban jana (gita 5.24; 6.27)- yah pahali nishtha hai. isaka nam jnan nishtha hai.
  7. varn, ashram, sh‍vabhav aur paristhiti ke anusar jis manushh‍y ke liye jin karmoan ka shash‍tr mean vidhan hai, jinaka anushthan karana manushh‍y ke liye avashh‍y kartavh‍y mana gaya hai, un shash‍travihin sh‍vabhavik karmoan ka nh‍yayapoorvak, apana kartavh‍y samajh kar anushthan karana; un karmoan mean aur unake phal mean samata, asakti aur kamana ka sarvatha th‍yag karake prath‍yek karm ki siddhi aur asiddhi mean tatha usake phal mean sada hi sam rahana (gita 2.47-48) evan indriyoan ke bhogoan mean aur karmoan mean asakt n hokar samash‍t sankalh‍poan ka th‍yag karake yogaroodh ho jana (gita 6.4)- yah karmayog ki nishtha hai. tatha parameshh‍var ko sarvashaktiman, sarvadhar, sarvavh‍yapi, sabake suhridh aur sabake prerak samajhakar aur apane ko sarvatha unake adhin manakar samash‍t karm aur unaka phal bhagavananh ke samarpan karana (gita 3.30; 9.27-28), unaki asha aur prarena ke anusar unaki pooja samajhakar jaise ve karavavean, vaise hi samash‍t karm karana; un karmoan mean ya unake phal mean kianchitamatr bhi mamata, asakti ya kamana n rakhana; bhagavanh ke prath‍yek vidhan mean sada hi santusht rahana tatha niranh‍tar unake nam, gun, prabhav aur sh‍varoop ka chinh‍tan karate rahana (gita 10.9; 12.6; 18.57)- yah bhaktipradhan karmayog ki nishtha hai.
  8. karmoan ka aramh‍bh n karane aur karmoan ka th‍yag karane ki bat kahakar alag-alag yah bhav dikhaya hai ki karmayogi ke liye vihit karmoan ka n karana yoganishtha ki prapti mean badhak hai; kiantu saankhh‍yayogi ke liye karmoan ka sh‍varoop se th‍yag kar dena saankhh‍yanishtha ki prapti mean badhak nahian haian, kiantu keval usi se use siddhi nahian milati, siddhi ki prapti ke liye use kartapan ka th‍yag karake sachchidananh‍d brahm mean abhed bhav se sthit hona avashh‍yak hai. atev usake liye karmoan ka sh‍varoopat: th‍yag karana mukhh‍y bat nahian hai, bhitari th‍yag hi pradhan hai aur karmayogi ke liye sh‍varoop se karmoan ka th‍yag n karana vidhey hai.
  9. yadyapi gunatit jnani purush ka gunoan se ya unake kary se kuchh bhi samh‍banh‍dh nahian rahata; at: vah gunoan se ya unake kary se kuchh bhi samh‍banh‍dh nahian rahata; at: vah gunoan ke vash mean hokar karm karata hai, yah kahana nahian ban sakata; tathapi man, buddhi aur indriy adi ka sidyaantaroop jo usaka sharir logoan ki drishti mean vartaman hai, usake dvara usake aur logoan ke prarabh‍dhanusar kriya ka hona anivary hai; kh‍yoanki vah gunoan ka kary hone se gunoan mean atit nahian haian, balki us jnani ka sharir se sarvatha atit ho jana hi gunatit ho jana hai.
  10. yahaan karmandriyani pad ka paribhashik arth nahian haian; isaliye jinake dvara manushh‍y bahar ki kriya karata hai arthath shabh‍dadi vishayoan ko grahan karata hai, un shrotr, th‍vacha, chakshu, rasana aur ghran tatha vani, hath, pair, upash‍th aur guda- in dasoan indriyoan ka vachak hai; kh‍yoanki gita mean shrotradi paanch indriyoan ke liye kahian bhi jnanendriy shabh‍d ka prayog nahian hua hai. isake siva yahaan karmandriyoan ka arth keval vani adi paanch indriyaan man lene se shrotr aur netr adi indriyoan ko rokane ki bat shesh rah jati hai aur usake rah jane se mithh‍yachari ka sh‍vaang bhi poora nahian banata; tatha vani adi indriyoan ko rokar shrotradi indriyoan ke dvara vah kh‍ya karata hai, yah bat bhi yahaan batalani avashh‍yak ho jati hai.
