kritaghh‍n ki gati or prayashchit ka varnan tatha sh‍tri-purush ke sanyog mean sh‍tri ko hi adhik sukh hone ke samh‍banh‍dh mean bhangash‍van ka upakhh‍yan

yudhishthir ne poochha- "pitamah! jo mohavash mata-pita tatha gurujanoan ka apaman karate haian, un kritaghh‍noan ke liye kh‍ya prayashchit hai? yah bataiye. tat! mahabaho! doosare bhi jo nirlajh‍j evan kritaghh‍n haian, usaki gati kaisi hoti hai? yah sab maian yatharth roop se sunana chahata hooan."

bhishh‍m ji ne kaha- "tat! kritaghh‍noan ki ek hi gati hai, sada ke liye narak mean p de rahana. jo mata-pita tatha gurujanoan ki ajna ke adhin nahian rahate haian, ve krimi, kit, pipilika aur vriksh adi ki yoniyoan mean janh‍m lete haian. manushh‍y yoni mean phir janh‍m hona unake liye durlabh ho jata hai. is vishay mean janakar manushh‍y is prachin itihas ka udaharan dete haian.

anasakh‍t chith‍t se meru parvat ke shikhar par jakar prayashchit karane ki ichh‍chha se apane sharir ko th‍yag dene ke liy udyat ho gaye. isi samay dharm ne akar un dharmajn, dharmath‍ma vath‍sanabh ka hath pak d liya. dharm ne kaha- 'mahaprajn vath‍sanabh! tumh‍hari ayu kee sau varshoan ki hai. tumh‍hare is asaktirahit ath‍math‍yag ke vichar se maian bahut santushh‍t hooan. isi prakar sabhi dharmath‍ma purush apane kiye hue karm ki alochana karate haian. vath‍sanabh! jagat mean koee aisa purush nahian hai, jisaka man kabhi dooshit n hua ho. jo manushh‍y nindy karmoan se door rahakar sab tarah se dharm ka acharan karata hai, vahi shaktishali hai. mahaprajn! ab tum pranath‍yag ke sankalh‍p se nivritt ho jao, kh‍yoanki tum sanatan (ajar-amar) atma ho.'

yudhishthir ne poochha- "rajan! sh‍tri aur purush ke sanyog mean vishayasukh ki anubhooti kisako adhik hoti hai (sh‍tri ko ya purush ko)? is sanshay ke vishay mean ap yathavat roop se batane ki kripa karean."

bhishh‍m ji ne kaha- "rajan! is vishay mean bhi bhangash‍van ke sath inh‍dr ka pahale jo vair hua tha, us prachin itihas ka udaharan diya jata hai.
