pashchim disha ka varnan
  • garu d kahate haian- galav! yah jo samane ki disha hai, jal ke svami dikpal raja varun ko sada hi atyant priy hai. yahi unaka ashray aur utpatisthan hai. (1)
  • dvijashreshth! din ke pashchat sooryadev isi disha mean svayan apani kiranoan ka visarjan karate haian, isalie yah 'pashchim' ke nam se vikhyat hai. (2)
  • poorvakal mean bhagavan kashyapadev ne jal-jantuoan ka adhipaty aur jal ki raksha karane ke lie isi disha mean varun ka abhishek kiya tha. (3)

  • isi disha mean agnidev ke sakha vayudev ka bhavan tatha marichinandan maharshi kashyap ka ashram hai. (19)
  • dvijashreshth galav! is prakar maianne tumhean sankshep se pashchim ka marg bataya hai. ab batao, tumhara kya vichar hai? ham donoan kis disha ki or chalean? (20)

is prakar shrimahabharat udyogaparv ke aantargat bhagavadayanaparv mean galav charitr vishayak ek sau dasavaan adhyay poora hua.
