sainyasanchalan ki riti-niti ka varnan


yudhishthir ne poochha-bharatashreshth pitamah! vijayabhilashi raja log jis prakar dharm ka tho da-sa ullanghan karake bhi apani senaoan ko age le jate haian, vah mujhe bataiye. bhishm ji ne kaha-rajanh! kinhian ka mat haian ki dharm saty se hi sthir rahata haian. doosare log yuktivad se hi dharm ki pratishtha manate haian. kisi-kisi ke mat mean shreshth acharan se hi dharm ki sthiti haian aur kitane hi log yathasambhav sam-dan adi upayoan ke avalamban se bhi dharm ki pratishtha svikar karate haian.

yudhishthir! ab maian arthasiddhi ke sadhanabhoot dharmoan ka varnan karooanga. yadi dakoo aur lutere arthan aur dharm ki maryada to dane lagean, tab unake vinash ke liye vedoan mean jo sadhan bataya gaya haian, usaka varnan arambh karata hooan. tum samast karyoan ki siddhi ke liye un upayoan ko mujhase suno. 'bharatanandan! buddhi do prakar ki hoti hai. ek saral, doosari kutil. raja ko un donoan ka hi jnan prapt karana chahiye. jahaan tak sambhav hoan, jan-boojhakar kutil buddhi ka sevan n kare. yadi vaisi buddhi svatah a jay to bhi use hatane ka hi prayatn kare. jo vastav mean mitr nahian haian, ve hi bhitar se raja ke antarang vyaktiyoan mean phoot dalane ka prayatn karate hue oopar se usaki seva mean lage rahate haian. raja unaki is shathata ko samajhe aur shatruoan ki bhaanti unako bhi mitane ka prayatn kare.

kuntinandan! raja ko chahiye ki vah gay, bail tatha ajagar ke cham doan se hathiyoan ki raksha ke liye kavach banavave. isake siva lohe ki kilean, lohe, kavach, chanvar, chamakile aur panidar shastr, pile aur lal rang ke kavach, bahurangi dhvaja-patakaean, rrishti, tomar, khadg, tikhean pharase, phalak aur dhal-inhean bhari sankhya mean taiyar karakar sada apane pas rakhe. yadi shastr taiyar hoan aur yoddha bhi shatruoan se bhi dane ka dridh nishchay kar chuke hoan, to chaitr ya margashirshan mas ki poornima ko sena ka yuddh ke liye udyat hokar prasthan karana uttam mana gaya haian. kyoanki us samay kheti pak jati haian aur bhootal par jal ki prachurata rahati hai. bharatanandan! us samay mausam bhi n to adhik thanda rahata hai aur n adhik garam. isiliye usi samay chadhaee kare athava jis samay shatru sankat mean ho, usi avasar par us par akraman kar de. shatruoan ko sena dvara badha pahuanchane ke liye ye hi avasar achchhe mane gaye haian. yuddh ke liye yatra karate samay margan samatal aur sugam ho tatha vahaan jal aur ghas adi sulabh hoan to achchha samajha jata hai. van mean vicharane vale kushal guptacharoan ko marg ke vishay mean vishesh janakari raha karati hai. vany pashuoan ki bhaanti manushy jangal mean asani se nahian chal sakate; isiliye vijayabhilashi raja senaoan mean margadarshan karane ke liye unhian guptacharoan ko niyukt karate haian. sena mean sabase age kulin evan shaktishali paidal sipahiyoan ko rakhana chahiye. shatru se bachav ke liye sainikoan ke rahane ka sthan ya kila aisa hona chahiye, jahaan pahuanchana kathin ho, jisake charoan or jal se bhari huee khaeean aur ooancha parakota ho. sath hi usake charoan or khula akash hona chahiye.
