mahabharat: shanti parv: dvipanchashdadhikashatatam adhyay: shlok 1-15 ka hindi anuvad
iandrot ka janamejay ko dharmopadesh karake unase ashvamedhayajn ka anushthan karana tatha nishpap raja ka pun: apane rajy mean pravesh
shaunak ne kaha- rajan! tumane aisi pratijna ki hai, isase jan p data hai ki tumhhara man pap ki or se nivrit ho gaya hai; isaliye maian tumhhean dharm ka upadesh karuanga; khyoanki tum shrisamhpanhn, mahabalavan aur santushtachit ho. sath hi shvayan dharm par drishti rakhate ho. raja pahale kathor shvabhav ka hokar pichhe komal bhav ka avalamhban karake jo apane sadvhyavahar se samasht praniyoan par anugrah karata hai, vah athyant ashhchary ki hi bat hai. chirakal tak tikshhn shvabhav ka ashray lene vala raja nishhchay hi apana sab kuchh jalakar bhashm kar dalata hai, aisi logoan ki dharan hai; parantu tum vaise hokar bhi jo dharm par hi drishti rakh rahe ho, yah kam ashhchary ki bat nahian hai. janamejay! tum jo dirghakal se bhakshhy-bhojhy adi padarthoan ka parithyag karake tapasya mean lage hue ho, yah pap se abhibhoot hue manushhyoan ke liye adbhabhut bat hai. yadi dhan-samhpanhn purush dani ho evan kripan ya daridr manushhy tapashya ka dhani ho jay to ise ashhchary ki bat nahian manate haian; khyoanki aise purushoan ka dan aur tap se samhpanhn hona adhik kathin nahian hai. yadi sari batoan par poorvapar vichar n karake koee kary aramhbh kiya jay to yahi kayaratapoorn dosh hai aur yadi bhalibhaanti alochana karake koee kary ho to yahi usamean gun mana jata hai. prithhvinath! yajn, dan, daya, ved aur sathy- ye paanchoan pavitr bataye gaye haian. inake sath achhchhi tarah acharan mean laya hua tap bhi chhatha pavitr karm mana gaya hai. janamejay! rajaoan ke liye ye chhahoan vashtuean param pavitr haian. inhhean bhalibhaanti acharan mean lane par tum shreshthatam dharm ko prapht kar loge. punhy tirthoan ki yatra karana bhi param pavitr mana gaya hai. is vishay mean vijn purush raja yayati ki gayi huee is gatha ka udaharan diya karate haian. jo manushhy apane liye dirgh jivan ki ichhchha rakhata hai, vah yathnapoorvak yajn ka anushthan karake phir use thyagakar tapashya mean lag jay. kurukshetr ko pavitr tirth bataya gaya.
kurukshetr se adhik pavitr sarashvati nadi hai, usase bhi adhik pavitr usake bhinhn-bhinhn tirth haian. un tirthoan mean bhi doosaroan ki apeksha prithoodak tirth ko shreshth kaha gaya hai. usamean shnan karane aur usaka jal pine se manushhy ko kal hi hone vali mrithyu ka bhay nahian satata arthat vah kritakrithy ho jata hai. is karan marane se nahian darata. yadi tum mahasarovar pushhkar, prabhas, uttar manas, kalodak, drishadvati aur sarashvati ke sangam tatha manasarovar adi tirthoan mean jakar shnan karoge to tumhhean pun: apane jivan ke liye dirghayu prapht hogi. sabhi tirthashthanoan mean shvadhhyayashil hokar shnan kare. manu ne kaha hai ki sarvathyagaroop sannhyas samhpoorn pavitr dharmoan mean shreshth hai. is vishay mean bhi sathyavan dvara nirmit huee in gathaoan ka udaharan diya jata hai. jaise balak rag-dvesh se shoonhy hone ke karan sada sathyaparayan hi rahata hai. n to vah punhy karata hai or n pap hi. isi prakar prathyek shreshth purushoan ko bhi hona chahiye.
