ashtavakr ka dvarapal tatha raja janak se vartalap

ashtavakr bole- rajan! jab tak brahman se samana n ho, tab tak aandhe ka marg, bahare ka marg, stri ka marg, baujh dhone vale ka marg tatha raja ka marg us-usake jane ke liye chho d dena chahiye; parantu yadi brahman samane mil jaye to sabase pahale usi ko marg dena chahiye.

raja ne kaha- brahmanakumar! lo maianne tumhare liye aj yah marg de diya hai. tum jisase jana chaho, usi marg se ichchhanusar chale jao. ag kabhi chhoti nahian hoti. devaraj indr bhi sada brahmanoan ke age mastak jhukate haian.

ashtavakr bole- rajan! ham donoan apaka yajn dekhane ke liye aye haian. narendr! isake liye ham donoan ke hriday mean prabal utkantha hai. ham donoan yahaan atithi ke roop mean upasthit haian aur yajn mean pravesh karane ke liye ham tumhare dvarapal ki ajna chahate haian. indradyumnakumar janak! ham donoan yahaan yajn dekhane ke liye aye haian aur ap janakaraj se milana tatha bat karana chahate haian, parantu yah dvarapal hamean rokata hai; at: ham krodharoop vyadhi se dagdh ho rahe haian.'

dvarapal bola- brahmanakumar! suno, ham bandi ke ajnapalak haian. ap hamari kahi huee bat suniye. is yajnashala mean balak brahman nahian pravesh karane pate haian. jo boodhe aur buddhiman brahman haian, unhian ka yahaan pravesh hota hai.

ashtavakr bole- dvarapal! yadi yahaan vriddh brahman ke liye pravesh ka dvar khula hai, tab to hamara pravesh hona bhi uchit hi hai; kyoanki ham log vriddh hi haian, hamane brahmachary vrat ka palan kiya hai tatha ham ved ke prabhav se bhi sampann haian. sath hi, ham gurujanoan ke sevak, jitendriy tatha jnanashastr mean parinishh‍thi‍t bhi haian. avastha mean balak hone ke karan hi kisi brahman ko apamanit karana uchit nahian bataya gaya hai; kyoanki ag ki chhoti-si chinagari bhi yadi chhoo jaye to vah jala dalati hai.

dvarapal ne kaha- brahmanakumar! tum vedapratipadit, ekaksharabrahm ka bodh karane vali, anek roop vali, sundar vani ka uchcharan karo aur apane apako balak hi samajho, svayan hi apani prashansa kyoan karate ho? is jagat mean jnani durlabh haian.

ashtavakr bole- dvarapal! keval sharir badh jane se kisi ki badhati nahian samajhi jati hai. jaise semal ke phal ki gaanth badhane par bhi sarahin hone ke karan vah vyarth hi hai. chhota aur dubala-patala vriksh bhi yadi phaloan ke bhar se lada hai to use hi vriddh (b da) janana chahiye. jisamean phal nahian lagate, us vriksh ka badhana bhi nahian ke barabar hai.

dvarapal ne kaha- balak b de-boodhoan se hi jnan prapt karate haian aur samayanusar ve bhi vriddh hote haian. tho de samay mean jnan ki prapti asambhav hai, at: tum balak hokar bhi kyoan vriddh ki-si batean karate ho.

ashtavakr bole- amuk vyakti ke sir ke bal pak gaye haian, itane hi matr se vah boodha nahian hota hai, avastha mean balak hone par bhi jo jnan mean badha-boodha hai, usi ko devagan vriddh manate haian.
