tyag ki mahima ke vishay mean shampak brahman ka upadesh

yudhishthir ne poochha- pitamah! dhani aur nirdhan donoan svatantratapoorvak vyavahar karate haian, phir unhean kis roop mean aur kaise sukh aur dukh ki prapti hoti hai? bhishh‍m ji ne kaha- yudhishthir! is vishay mean vidvan purush is puratan itihas dete haian, jise param shant jivanmukh‍t shampak ne kaha tha. pahale ki bat hai, phate–purane vastroan evan apani dushh‍ta stri ke aur bhookh ke karan atyant kashh‍t pane vale ek tyagi brahman ne jisaka nam shampak tha, mujhase is prakar kaha- ‘is sansar mean jo bhi manushh‍y utpann hota hai (vah dhani ho ya nirdhan) use janm se hi nana prakar ke sukh–dukh praph‍t hone lagate haian. ‘vidhata yadi use sukh aur dukh in donoan mean se kisi ek ke marg par le jay to vah n to sukh pakar prasann ho aur n dukh mean p dakar paritapt ho.

‘tum jo kamana rahit hokar bhi apane kalyan ka sadhan nahian kar rahe ho aur man ko vash mean nahian kar rahe ho, isaka karan yahi hai ki tumane rajy ka bojha apane par utha rakha hai. ‘yadi tum sab kuchh tyagakar kisi vastu ka sangrah nahian rakhoge to sarvatr vicharate hue sukh ka hi anubhav karoge, kyoanki jo akianchan hota hai- jisake pas kuchh nahian rahata hai, vah sukh se sota aur jagata hai. ‘sansar mean akianchanata hi sukh hai. vahi hitakarak, kalyanakari aur nirapad hai. is marg mean kisi prakar ke shatru ka bhi khataka nahian hai. yah durlabh hone par bhi sulabh hai. ‘maian tinoan lokoan par drishti dalakar dekhata hooan to mujhe akianchan, shuddh evan sab or se vairagy sampann purush ke saman doosara koee nahian dikhayi deta hai. ‘maianne akianchanata tatha rajy ko buddhi ki tarajoo par rakhakar taula to gunoan mean adhik hone ke karan rajy se bhi akiechanata ka hi pal da bhari nikala.

‘akianchanata tatha rajy mean b da bhari antar yah hai ki dhani raja sada is prakar udvign rahata hai, mano maut ke mukh mean p da hua ho. ‘parantu jo manushh‍y dhan ko tyagakar usaki asakti se mukh‍t ho gaya hai aur man mean kisi tarah ki kamana nahian rakhata, us par n agni ka jor chalata hai, n arishh‍takari grahoan ka, n mrityu usaka kuchh biga d sakati hai, n dakoo aur lutere hi. ‘vah sada daiv–ichchha ke anusar vicharata hai. bina bichhaune ke bhootal par sota hai. baanhoan ki hi takiya lagata hai aur sada shantabhav se rahata hai. devata log bhi usaki bhoori-bhoori prashansa karate haian. ‘jo dhanavan hai, vah krodh aur lobh ke avesh mean akar apani vichar shakti ko kho baithata hai, tedhi aankhoan se dekhata hai, usaka muanh sukha rahata hai, bhauhean chadhi hoti hai aur vah pap mean hi magh‍n raha karata hai. ‘krodh ke karan vah oth chabata rahata hai aur atyant kathor vachan bolata hai. aisa manushh‍y sari prithh‍vi ka rajy hi de dena chahata ho, to bhi usaki or kaun dekhana chahega?
