mahabharat: udyog parv: ashhtatriansh adhyay: shlok 1-15 ka hindi anuvad
viduraji ka nitiyukht upadesh
- vidur ji kahate haian- rajan! jab koee[1] vriddh purush nikat ata hai, us samay navayuvak vhyakti ke pran oopar ko uthane lagate haian; phir jab vah vriddh ke shvagat mean uthakar kh da hota hai aur pranam karata hai, tab pranoan ko pun: vashtavik sthiti mean prapht karata hai. (1)
- dhir purush ko chahiye, jab koee purush atithi ke roop mean ghar par ave, tab pahale asan dekar evan jal lakar usake charan pakhare, phir usaki kushal poochhakar apani sthiti batave, tadanantar avashhyakata samajhakar anhn bhojan karave. (2)
- vedavetta brahman jisake ghar data ke lobh, bhay ya kanjoosi ke karan jal, madhupark aur gau ko nahian shvikar karata, shreshhth purushoan ne us grihashth ka jivan vhyarth bataya hai. (3)
- vaidy, chirapha d karane vala[2], brahmachary se bhrashht, chor, kroor, sharabi, garbh hathyara, sena jivi aur ved vikreta- ye yadyapi pair dhone ke yoghy nahian haian, tathapi yadi atithi hokar avean to vishesh priy yani adar ke yoghy hote haian. (4)
- namak, paka hua anhn, dahi, madhu, tel, ghi, til, maans, phal, sag, lal kap da, sab prakar ki gandh aur gu d itani vashtuean bechane yoghy nahian hai. (5)
- jo krodh n karane vala, loshht, paththar aur suvarn ko ek-sa samajhane vala, shokahin, sandhi-vigrah se rahit, nianda-prashansa se shoonhy, priy-apriy ka thyag karane vala tatha udasin hai, vahi bhikshuk[3] hai. (6)
- jo nivar[4], kand-mool, ingudiphal aur sag khakar nirvah karata hai, man ko vash mean rakhata hai, agnihotr karata hai, van mean rahakar bhi atithi seva mean sada savadhan rahata hai, vahi punhyathma tapasvi[5] shreshhth mana gaya hai. (7)
- buddhiman purush ki buraee karake is vishvas par nishchiant n rahe ki maian door hooan. buddhiman ki[6] baanhean b di lanbi hoti haian, sataya jane par vah unhhian baanhoan se badala leta hai. (8)
- jo vishvas ka patr nahian hai, usaka to vishvas kare hi nahian; kiantu jo vishvasapatr hai, us par bhi adhik vishvas n kare. vishvas se jo bhay uthpanhn hota hai, vah mool ka bhi uchhchhed kar dalata hai. (9)
- manushhy ko chahiye ki vah eershhyarahit, striyoan ka rakshak, samhpatti ka nhyayapoorvak vibhag karane vala, priyavadi, shvachhchh tatha striyoan ke nikat mithe vachan bolane vala ho, parantu unake vash mean kabhi n ho. (10)
- striyaan ghar ki lakshmi kahi gayi haian. ye athyant saubhaghyashalini, adar ke yoghy, pavitr tatha ghar ki shobha haian; at: inaki vishesh roop se raksha karani chahie. (11)
- ant:pur ki raksha ka kary pita ko sauanp de, rasoee-ghar ka prabandh mata ke hath mean de, gauoan ki seva mean apane saman vyakti ko niyukt kare aur krishi ka kary svayan hi kare. isi prakar sevakoan dvara vanijy-vyapar kare aur putroan ke dvara brahmanoan ki seva kare. (12)
- jal se agni, brahman se kshatriy aur patthar se loha paida hota hai. inaka tej sarvatr vyapt hone par bhi apane utpatti sthan mean shant ho jata hai. (13)
- achchhe kul mean utpann, agni ke saman tejasvi, kshamashil aur vikarashoony sant purush sada kashhth mean agni ki bhaanti shantabhav se sthit rahate haian. (14)
- jis raja ki mantrana ko usake bahirang evan antarang koee bhi manushhy nahian janate, sab or drishti rakhane vala vah raja chirakal tk aishvary ka upabhog karata hai. (15)
