janakavanshi vasumanh ko ek munika dharm vishayak upadesh

bhishh‍m ji kahate haian — rajanh! ek samay ki bat hai, janakavansh ka koee rajakumar shikar khelane ke liye ek nirjan van mean ghoom raha tha. usane van mean baithe hue ek muni ko dekha; jo brahman mean shreshh‍th evan maharshi bhrigu ke banshadhar the. pas hi baithe hue muni ko mash‍tak jhukakar pranam karake vah rajakumar unake samip mean hi baith gaya. usaka nam vasumanh tha. usane maharshi ki ajna lekar unase is prakar poochha— ‘bhagavanh! is shranabhangur sharir mean kam ke adhin hokar rahane vale purush ka is lok aur paralok mean kis upay se kalh‍yan ho sakata hai? sath‍karapoorvak prashh‍n karane par un mahatapash‍vi mahath‍ma muni ne rajakumar vasumanh se yah kalh‍yanakari vachan kaha. rrishi bole— rajakumar! yadi tum is lok aur paralok mean apane man ke anukool vash‍tuean pana chahate ho to apani indriyoan ko sanyam mean rakhakar samash‍t praniyoan ke pratikool acharanoan se door hat jao. dharm hi sath‍purushoan ka kalh‍yan karane vala aur dharm hi unaka ashray hai. tat! charachar praniyoan sahit tinoan lok dharm se uth‍panh‍n hue haian. bhogoan ka ras lene ki ichh‍chha rakhane vale durbuddhi manav! tumh‍hari kamapipasa shanh‍t kh‍yoan nahian hoti ? abhi tumh‍hean vriksh ki ooanchi dali mean laga hua keval madhu hi dikhayi deta hai. vahaan se girane par prananh‍t ho sakata hai, isaki aur tumh‍hari drishti nahian hai (arthath abhi tum bhogoan ki mithas par hi lubhaye hue ho. usase hone vale patan ki aur tumh‍hara dhh‍yan nahian ja raha hai). jaise jnan ka phal chahane vale ke liye jnan se parichit hona avashh‍yak hai, usi prakar dharm ka phal chahane vale manushh‍y ko bhi dharm ka parichay praph‍t karana chahiye. dushh‍t purush yadi dharm ki ichh‍chha kare to bhi usake dvara vishuddh karm ka samh‍padan hona kathin he aur sadhu purush yadi dharm ke anushh‍than ki ichh‍chha kare to usake liye kathin-se kathin karm bhi karana sahaj hai. van mean rahakar bhi jo gramin sukhoan ka upabhog karane mean laga hai, usako gramin hi samajhana chahiye tatha gaanvoan mean rahakar bhi jo vanavasi muniyoan ke- se bartav mean hi sukh manata hai, usaki ginati vanavasiyoan mean hi karani chahiye. pahale nivritti aur pravritti-marg mean jo gun-avagun haian, unaka tum achh‍chhi tarah nishh‍chay kar lo; phir ekagrachith‍t ho man, vani aur sharir dvara hone vale dharm mean shraddha karo (arthath shraddhapoorvak dharm ke palan mean lag jao). pratidin vrat aur shauchachar ka palan karate hue uth‍tam desh aur kal mean sadhu purushoan ko prarthana aur sath‍karapoorvak adhik-se-adhik dan karana chahiye aur unamean doshadrishti nahian rakhani chahiye. shubhakarmo dvara praph‍t hua dhan sath‍patr ko arpan karana chahiye. krodh ko th‍yagakar dan dena chahiye aur dene ke bad n to usake liye pashh‍chatap karana chahiye aur n use doosaroan ko batana hi chahiye. dayaloo, pavitr, jitendriy, sath‍yavadi, saralatapoorn bartav karane vala tatha yoni se arthath janh‍m se aur karm se shuddh vedaveth‍ta brahman hi dan pane ka uth‍tam patr hai.
