uttar-adham brahmanoan ke sath raja ka bartav

yudhishthir ne poochha- pitamah! kuchh brahman apane varnochit karmoan mean lage rahate haian tatha doosare bahut se brahman apane varn ke viparit karm mean pravutt ho jate haian. un sabhi brahmanoan mean kya antar hai? yah mujhe bataiye.

bhishmaji ne kaha- rajanh! jo vidvan uttam lakshanoan se sampann tatha sarvatr saman drishti rakhane vale haian, aise brahman brahmaji ke saman kahe gaye haian. nareshvar! je rrigh, yaju; aur samaved ka adhyayan karake apane varnochit karmoan mean lage hue haian, ve brahmanoan mean devata ke saman samajhe jate hai. rajanh! jo apane jatiy karm se hin ho kutsit karmoan mean lagakar brahman se bhrasht ho chuke hai, aise log brahmanoan mean shoodr ke tuly hote haian. jo brahman vedashastroan ke jnan se shoony hai tatha jo agnihotr nahian karate hai, ve sabhi shoodratuly hai. dharmatma raja ko chahiye ki in sab logoan se kar le aur begar karave. nyayalay mean ya kahian bhi logoan ko bulakar lane ka kam karane vale, vetan lekar devamandir mean pooja karane vale, nakshatr-vidya dvara jivika chalane vale, gram purohit tatha paanchavean mahapathik (door desh ke yatri ya samudr yatra karane vale) brahman chandal ke tuly mane jate haian. jo koee mlechchh desh hai aur jahaan papi manushy nivas karate haian, vahaan jakar brahman ihalok mean chandal ke tuly ho jata hai, aur mrityu ke bad adhogati ko prapt hota hai. sanskar bhrasht, mlechchh tatha shoodroan ka yajn karakar patit hua adham brahman is sansar mean apayash pata aur marane ke bad narak mean girata hai.

jo murkh brahman rrigved, yajurved aur samaved ke mantroan ka viplav karata hai, vah ek kalpatak nana praniyoan ki vishthaoan ka kida hota hai. rajanh! brahmanoan mean se jo rritvij, rajapurohit, mantri, rajadoot athava sandeshavahak hoan, ve kshatriy ke saman mane jate hai. nareshvar! ghudasavar, hathisavar, rathi aur paidal sipahi ka kam karane vale brahmanoan ko vaishy ke saman samajha jata hai. yadi raja ke khajane mean kami ho to vah in brahmanoan se kar le sakata hai. keval un brahmanoan se, jo brahmaji tatha devataoan ke saman bataye gaye hai, kar nahian lena chahiye. raja brahman ke siva any sab varnoan ke dhan ka svami hota hai, yahi vaidik siddhant dharm par anugrah karane ke liye unhean dand dena aur shreshth brahmanoan ki shreni se alag kar dena chahie. rajanh! jis kisi bhi raja ke rajy mean yadi brahman chor ban jata hai to usaki is paristhiti ke liye janakar log us raja ka hi aparadh thaharate haian. nareshvar! yadi koee vedavetta athava snatak brahman jivika ke abhav mean chori karata ho to raja ko uchit hai ki usake bharan poshan ki vyavastha kare; yah vedavettaoan ka mat hai. parantap! yadi jivika ka prabandh kar dene par bhi us brahman mean koee parivartan n ho- vah poorvavath chori karata hi rah jay to use bandhu bandhavoan sahit us desh se nirvasit kar dena chahiye. yajn, vedoan ka adhyayan, kisi ki chugali n karana, kisi bhi prani ko man, vani aur kriyadvara klesh n pahuanchana, atithiyoan ka poojan karana, indriyoan ko sanyam mean rakhana, sach bolana, tap karana aur dan dena, yah sab brahman ka lakshan hai.
