yudhishthir ne poochha- bharat! manushhy khya upay karane se sukh pata hai; khya karane se du:kh uthata haian aur kaun sa kam karane se vah siddh ki bhaanti sansar mean nirbhay hokar vicharata hai. bhishhm ji ne kaha- yudhishthir! manoyogapoorvak vedarth ka vichar karane vale vriddh purush samanhyat: sabhi varnoan ke liye aur visheshat: brahman ke liye man aur indriyoan ke sanyamaroop ‘dam’ ki hi prashansa karate haian. jisane dam ka palan nahian kiya hai, use apane karmoan mean yathochit saphalata nahian milati; khyoanki kriya, tap aur sathy ye sabhi dam ke adhar par hi pratishthit hote haian. ‘dam’ tej ki vriddhi karata hai. ‘dam’ param pavitr bataya gaya hai, man aur indriyoan ka sanyam karane vala purush pap aur bhay se rahit hokar ‘mahath’ pad ko prapht kar leta hai. dam ka palan karane vala manushhy sukh se sota, sukh se jagata aur sukh se hi sansar mean vicharata hai tatha usaka man bhi prasanhn rahata hai. dam se hi tej ko dharan kiya jata hai, jisamean dam ka abhav hai, vah tivr kam vala rajoguni purush us tej ko nahian dharan kar sakata aur sada kam, krodh adi bahut se shatruoan ko apane se prithak anubhav karata hai. jinhhoanne man aur indriyoan ka daman nahian kiya hai, unase samasht praniyoan ko usi prakar sada bhay bana rahata hai, jaise maans bhakshi vhyaghr adi janhtuoan se bhay hua karata hai. aise uddanhd manushhyoan ki uchhchhriankhal pravritti ko rokane ke liye hi brahma ji ne raja ki srishti ki hai. charoan ashramoan mean dam ko hi shreshth bataya gaya hai. un sab ashramoan mean dharm ka palan karane se jo phal milata hai, damanashil purush ko vah phal aur adhik matra mean upalabhdh hota hai. ab maian un lakshanoan ka varnan karooanga, jinaki uthpatti mean dam hi karan hai. kripanata ka abhav, uthtejana ka n hona, santosh, shraddha, krodh ka n ana, nithy saralata, adhik bakavad n karana, abhimanaka thyag, guruseva, kisi ke gunoan me doshadrishti n karana, samasht jivoan par daya karana, kisi ki chugali n karana, lokapavad, asathy bhashan tatha ninhda-shtuti adi ko thyag dena, sathpurushoan ke sang ki ichhchha tatha bhavishhy mean ane vale sukh ki shpriha aur du:kh ki chinhta n karana. jitendriy purush kisi ke sath vair nahian karata. usaka sab ke sath achhchha bartav hota hai. vah ninhda aur shtuti mean saman bhav rakhane vala, sadachari, shilavan, prasanhnachitht, dhairyavan tatha doshoan ka daman karane mean samarth hota hai. vah ihalok mean samhman pata aur mrithyu ke pashhchat shvargalok mean jata hai. damanashil purush samasht praniyoan ko durlabh vashtuean dekar doosaroan ko sukh pahuanchakar shvayan sukhi aur pramudit hota hai. jo samhpoorn praniyoan ke hit mean laga rahata aur kisi se dvesh nahian karata hai, vah bahut b de jalashay ki bhaanti gamhbhir hota hai. usake man mean kabhi kshobh nahian hota tatha vah sada jnananhd se tripht evan prasanhn rahata hai. jo samasht praniyoan se nirbhay hai tatha jisane samhpoorn prani nirbhay ho gaye haian, vah damanashil evan buddhiman purush sab jivoan ke liye vanhdaniy hota hai. |
