yudhishthir dvara apane mat ki yatharthata ka pratipadan

yudhishthir bole- tat! maian dharm aur brahm ka pratipadan karane vale apar tatha par donoan prakar ke shastroan ko janata hooan. ved mean donoan prakar ke vachan upalabdh hote haian- 'karm karo aur karm chho do’- in donoan ka mujhe jnan hai. paraspar virodhi bhavoan se yukt jo shastr-vaky haian, un par bhi maianne yuktipoorvak vichar kiya hai. ved mean un donoan prakar ke vakyoan ka jo sunishchit siddhant hai, use bhi maian vidhipoorvak janata hooan. tum to keval astravidya ke pandit ho aur viravrat ka palan karane vale ho. shastroan ke tatpary ko yatharth roop se janane ki shakti tumamean kisi prakar nahian hai. jo log shastroan ke sookshm rahasy ko samajhane vale haian aur dharm ka nirnay karane mean kushal haian, ve bhi mujhe is prakar upadesh nahian de sakate. yadi tum dharm par drishti rakhate ho to mere is kathan ki yatharthata ka anubhav karoge.

arjun! kuntinandan! tumane bhratrisnehavash jo bat kahi hai, vah nyayasangat aur uchit hai. maian usase tum par prasann hi hua hooan. sampoorn yuddh dharmoan mean aur sangram karane ki kushalata mean tumhari samanata karane vala tinoan lokoan mean koee nahian hai. dhananjay! dharm ka svaroop atyant sookshm evan durbodh kaha gaya hai. usamean tumhara pravesh hona atyant kathin hai. meri buddhi bhi use samajhati hai ya nahian, yah ashanka tumhean nahian karani chahiye. tum yuddh shastr ke hi vidvanh ho, tumane kabhi vriddh purushoan ka sevan nahian kiya hai, atah sankshep aur vistar ke sath dharm ko janane vale un mahapurushoan ka kya siddhant hai, isaka tumhean pata nahian hai. jin mahanubhavoan ki buddhi param kalyan mean lagi huee hai, un buddhimanoan ka nirnay is prakar hai. tapasya, tyag aur vidhi-vidhan se atit (brahmajnan) inamean se poorv-poorv ki apeksha uttarottar shreshth hai.

kuntinandan! tum jo yah manate ho ki dhan se badhakar doosari koee vastu nahian hai, usake vishay maian tumhean aisi bat bata raha hooan, jisase tumhari samajh mean a jayaga ki dhan pradhan nahian hai. is jagath mean bahut-se tapasya aur svadhyay mean lage hue dharmatma purush dekhe jate haian tatha rrishi to tapasvi hote hi haian. in sabako sanatan lokoan ki prapti hoti hai. kitane hi aise dhir purush haian, jinake shatru paida hi nahian hue. ye tatha aur bhi bahut-se vanavasi haian, jo van mean svadhyay karake svargalok mean chale gaye haian. bahut-se ary purush indriyoan ko unake vishayoan se rokakar avivekajanit ajnan ka tyag karake uttaramarg (devayan) ke dvara tyagi purushoan ke lokoan mean chale gaye.

isake siva jo dakshin marg hai, jise prakashapoorn bataya gaya hai, vaha jo lok haian, ve sakam karm karane vale un grihasthoan ke liye haian, jo shmashan bhoomi ka sevan karate haian (janm-maran ke chakkar mean p de rahate haian). panratu moksh-marg se chalane vale purush jis gati ka sakshatkar karate haian, vah anirdeshy hai; atah jnanayog hi sab sadhanoan mean pradhan evan abhisht hai, kintu usake svaroop ko samajhana bahut kathin hai. kahate haian, kisi samay vidvanh purushoan ne sar aur asar vastu ka nirnay karane ki ichchha se ikatthe hokar samast shastroan ka bar-bar smaran karate hue yah vichar arambh kiya ki is garhasthy-jivan mean kuchh sar hai ya isake tyag mean sar hai?
