mahabharat: udyog parv: shashtitam adhyay: shlok 1-18 ka hindi anuvad
duryodhan dvara athmaprashansa
- vaishamhpayan ji kahate haian- janamejay! pita ki yah bat sunakar athyant asahishhnu duryodhan ne bhitar hi bhitar bhari krodh karake pun: is prakar kaha- (1)
- ‘nripashreshhth! ap jo aisa manate haian ki kuanti ke putroan ko jitana asamhbhav hai, khyoanki devata unake sahayak haian,yah thik nahian hai. apake man se yah bhay nikal jana chahiye. (2)
- ‘bharatanandan! kam (rag), dvesh, sanyog (mamata), lobh aur droh (krodh) roopi doshoan se rahit hone ke karan tatha dooshit bhavoan ki upeksha kar dene ke karan hi devataoan ne devathv prapht kiya hai. (3)
- ‘yah bat poorvakal mean dvaipayan vhyas ji, mahatapashvi narad ji tatha jagadagninandan parashuram ji ne ham logoan ko batayi thi. (4)
- ‘bharatashreshhth! devata manushhyoan ki bhaanti kam, krodh, lobh aur dveshabhav se kisi kary mean pravritht nahian hote haian. (5)
- ‘yadi agni, vayu, dharm, inhdr tatha donoan ashvinikumar bhi kamana ke vashibhoot hokar sab karyoan mean pravritht hone lag jate, tab to kuantiputroan ko kabhi du:kh uthana hi nahian p data. (6)
- ‘at: bharatanandan! ap kisi prakar bhi aisi chianta n karean; khyoanki devata sada divhyabhav-sham adi ki hi apeksha rakhate haian, kam, krodh adi asur bhavoan ki nahian. (7)
- ‘tathapi yadi devataoan mean kamanavash dvesh aur lobh lakshit hota hai to unamean devatv ka abhav ho jane ke karan unaki vah shakti ham logoan par koee prabhav nahian dikha sakegi, khyoanki devoan mean devabhav ki pradhanata hai. (8)
- ‘vaise to mujhamean bhi daivabal hai hi; yadi maian abhimantrit kar dooan to sada samhpoorn lakoan ko jalakar bhashm kar dalane ki ichhchha se prajhvalit huee ag bhi sab or se simatakar bujh jayagi. (9)
- ‘bharat! yadi koee aisa uthkrishht tej hai, jisase devata yukht haian to mujhe bhi devataoan se hi anupam tej prapht hua hai, yah ap achhchhi tarah jan lean. (10)
- ‘rajan! maian sab logoan ke dekhate-dekhate vidirn hoti huee prithvi tatha tootakar girate hue parvat shikharoan ko bhi manhtrabal se abhimantrit karake pahale ki bhaanti shthapit kar sakata hooan. (11)
- ‘is chetan-achetan aur shthavar-jangam jagat ke vinash ke liye prakat huee mahan kolahalakari bhayankar shilavrishti athava aandhi ko bhi maian sada samast praniyoan par daya karake sabake dekhate-dekhate yahian shaant kar sakata hooan. (12-13)
- ‘mere dvara shtambhit kiye hue jal ke oopar rath aur paidal senaean chal sakati haian. ekamatr maian hi daiv tatha asur shaktiyoan ko prakat karane mean samarth hooan. (14)
- ‘maian kisi kary ke uddeshhy se jin-jin deshoan mean anek akshauhini senaean lekar jata hooan, unamean jahaan-jahaan meri ichhchha hoti hai, un sabhi shthanoan mean mere gho da apratihat gati se vicharate haian. (15)
- ‘mere rajhy mean sarp adi bhayankar jiv-jantu nahian haian. yadi koee bhayankar prani ho to bhi ve mere manhtroan dvara surakshit jiv-jantuoan ki kabhi hiansa nahian karate haian. (16)
- ‘maharaj! mere rajhy mean rahane vali praja ke liye badal prachur jal barasata hai, samhpoorn praja dharm mean tathpar rahati hai tatha mere rashhtr mean anavrishti aur ativrishti adi kisi prakar ka bhi upadrav nahian hai. (17)
- ‘jinase maian dvesh rakhata hooan, unaki raksha ka sahas ashrvini kumar, vayu, agni, marudganoan sahit inhdr tatha dharm mean bhi nahian hai. (18)
