brahman bhayankar sankatakal mean kis tarah jivan-nirvah kare’ is vishay mean vishh‍vamitr muni aur chanh‍dal ka sanvad


yudhishthir ne poochha- prajanath! bharatanandan! bhoopal- shiromane! jab sab logoan dvara dharm ka ulh‍langhan hone ke karan shreshth dharm kshin ho chale, adharm ko dharm man liya jay aur dharm ko adharm samajha jan lage, sari maryadaean nasht ho jay, dharm ka nishh‍chay daanvadol ho jay, raja athava shatru praja ko pi da dene lage, sabhi ashram kiankartavh‍yavi‍moodh ho jay, dharm-karm nasht ho jay, kam, lobh tatha moh ke karan sabako sarvatr bhay dikhayi dene lage, kisi ka kisi par vishh‍vas n rah jay, sabhi sada darate rahe, log dhokhe se ek-doosare ko marane lage, sabhi apas mean thagi karane lage, desh mean sab or ag lagayi jane lage, brahman ath‍yant pi dit ho jay, vrishti n ho, parash‍par vair-virodh aur phoot badh jay aur prithh‍vi par jivika ke sare sadhan luteroan ke adhin ho jay, tab aisa adham samay upasthit hone par brahman kis upay se jivan nirvah kare? nareshh‍var! pitamah! yadi brahman aisi apatti ke samay dayavash apane putr-pautroan ka parith‍yag karana n chahe to vah kaise jivika chalave, yah mujhe batane ki kripa karean. parantap! jab log papaparayan ho jay, us avash‍tha mean raja kaisa bartav kare, jisase vah dharm aur arth se bhi bhrasht n ho?

bhishh‍m ji ne kaha- mahabahoan! praja ke yog, kshem, uth‍tam vrishti, vh‍yadhi, mrith‍yu aur bhay-in sabaka mool karan raja hi hai. bharatashreshth! sath‍yayug, treta, dvapar aur kaliyug- in sabaka mool karan raja hi hai, aisa mera vichar hai. isaki sath‍yata mean mujhe tanik bhi sandeh nahian hai. prajaoan ke liye dosh uth‍panh‍n karane vale aise bhayanak samay ke ane par brahman ko vijnan bal ka ashray lekar jivan-nirvah karana chahiye. is vishay mean chanh‍dal ke ghar mean chanh‍dal aur vishh‍vamitr ka jo sanvad hua tha, us prachin itihas ka udaharan log diya karate haian.

treta aur dvapar ke sandhi ki bat hai, daivavash sansar mean barah varshoan tak bhayankar anavrishti ho gayi (varsha huee hi nahian). tretayug pray: bit gaya tha, dvapar ka aranbh ho raha tha, prajaean bahut badh gayi thian, jinake liye varsha band ho jane se pralayakal-sa upasthit ho gaya. inh‍dr ne varsha band kar di thi, brihaspati pratilom (vakri) ho gaya tha, chandrama vikrit ho gaya tha aur vah dakshin marg par chala gaya tha. un dinoan kuhasa bhi nahian hota tha, phir badal kahaan se uth‍panh‍n hote. nadiyoan ka jalapravah ath‍yanh‍t kshin ho gaya aur kitani hi nadiyaan adrishh‍y ho gayian. b de-b de sarovar, saritaean, koop aur jharane bhi us daivavihit athava sh‍vabhavik anavrishti se shri‍hin hokar dikhayi hi nahian dete thean. chhote-chhote jalashay sarvatha sookh gaye. jalabhav ke karan pauansalean band ho gaye. bhootal par yajn aur sh‍vadhh‍yay ka lop ho gaya. vashatkar aur maangalik uth‍savoan ka kahian nam bhi nahian rah gaya. kheti aur go raksha chaupat ho gayi, bajar-hat band ho gaye. yoop aur yajnoan ka ayojan samaph‍t ho gaya tatha b de-b de uth‍sav nasht ho gaye.
