apattikal mean brahman ke liye vaishyavritti se nirvah karane ki chhoot tatha luteroan se apani aur doosaroan ki raksha karane ke liye sabhi jatiyoan ko shastr dharan karane ka adhikar evan rakshak ko samman ka patr svikar karana

yudhishthir ne poochha- bharatanandan! apane brahman ke liye apattikal mean kshatriy dharm se bhi jivika chalane ki bat pahale batayi hai. ab maian yah janana chahata hooan ki brahyan kisi tarah vaishy-dharm se bhi jivan-nirvah kar sakata hai ya nahian?

bhishmaji ne kaha -rajanh! yadi brahyan apani jivika nasht hone par apattikal mean kshatriy dharm se bhi jivan nirvah n kar sake to vaishy dharm ke anusar kheti aur goraksha ka ashray lekar vah apani jivika chalave. yudhishthir ne poochha - bharatashreshth! yah to bataiye ki yadi brahyan vaishy dharm se jivika chalate samay vyapar bhi kare to kin-kin vastuoan ka kray-vikray karane se vah svarg lok ki prapti ke adhikar se vanchit nahian hoga.

bhishmaji ne kaha- tat yudhishthir! brahman ko maans, madira, shahad, namak, til, banayi huee rasoee, gho da tatha bail, gay, bakara, bhe d aur bhaians adi pashu -in vastuoan ka vikray to sabhi avasthaoan mean tyag dena chahiye; kyoanki inako bechane se brahman narak me p data hai. bakara agrisvaroopan, bhed varunasvaroop, gho da sooryasvaroop, poothvi viratasvaroop tatha gau yajn aur som ka svaroop hai; atah inaka vikray kabhi kisi tarah nahian karana chahiye. bharatanandan! brahman ke liye bani -banayi rasoee dekar badale mean kachcha ann lene ki sadhupurush prashansa nahian karate hai; kiantu keval bhojan ke liye kachcha ann dekar usake badale paka-pakaya ann le sakate haian. ham log bani-banayi rasoee pakar bhojan kar leange. ap yah kachcha ann lekar ise pakaiye, is bhav se achchhi tarah vichar karake yadi kachche ann se pake-pakaye ann ko badal liya jay to isamean kisi prakar bhi adharm nahian hota. yudhishthir! is vishay mean vyavahar parayan manushyoan ke liye sanatan kal se chala ata hua dharm jaisa hai, vaisa maian tumhean batala raha hooan suno. maian apako yah vastu deta hooan, isake badale mean ap mujhe vah vastu de dijiye, aisa kahakar donoan ki ruchi se jo vastuoan ki adala-badali ki jati hai, use dharm mana jata hai. yadi balatkarapoorvak adala-badali ki jay to vah dharm nahian hai. prachin kal mean rrishiyoan tatha any satpurushoan ke sare vyavahar aise hi chale a rahe haian. yah sab thik hai, isamean sanshay nahian hai. yudhishthir ne poochha-tat! nareshvar! yadi sari praja shastr dharan kar le aur apane dharm se gir jay, us samay kshatriy ki shakti to kshin ho jayagi. phir raja rashtr ki raksha kaise kar sakata hai aur vah sab logoan ko kis tarah sharan de sakata hai. mere is sandeh ka ap vistar prirvak samadhan karean. bhishmaji ne kaha- rajanh. brahyan adi sabhi varniko dan, tap, yajn, praniyoan ke prati droh ka abhav tatha indriy- sanyam ke dvara apane kalyan ki ichchha rakhani chahiye. unamean se jin brahyanoan mean ved-shastroan ka bal ho, ve sab or se uthakar raja ka usi prakar bal badha़vean, jaise devata indr ka bal badha़te haian.
