uddhav ji! tumase maianne jnan aur vijnan ki uttam sthiti ka varnan kiya hai. jo purush mere in vachanoan ka rahasy jan leta hai, vah n to kisi ki prashansa karata hai aur n ninda. vah jagath mean soory ke saman samabhav se vicharata rahata hai. pratyaksh, anuman, shastr aur atmanubhooti adi sabhi pramanoan se yah siddh hai ki yah jagath utpatti-vinashashil hone ke karan anity evan asaty hai. yah bat janakar jagath mean asang bhav se vicharana chahiye.

uddhav ji! ne poochha- 'bhagavanh! atma hai drishta aur deh hai drishy. atma svayan prakash hai aur deh hai j d. aisi sthiti mean janm-mrityuroop sansar n sharir ko ho sakata hai aur n atma ko. parantu isaka hona bhi upalabdh hota hai. tab yah hota kise hai? atma to avinashi, prakrit-aprakrit gunoan se rahit, shuddh, svayan prakash aur sabhi prakar ke avaranoan se rahit hai; tatha vinashi, sagun, ashuddh, prakashy aur avrit hai. atma agni ke saman prakashaman hai to sharir kath ki tarah achetan. phir yah janm-mrityuroop sansar hai kise?'

bhagavan shrikrishn ne kaha- vastutah priy uddhav! sansar ka astitv nahian hai tathapi jab tak deh, indriy aur pranoan ke sath atma ki sambandh-bhranti hai, tab tak aviveki purush ko vah saty-sa sphurit hota hai. jaise svapn mean anekoan vipattiyaan ati haian, par vastav mean ve haian nahian, phir bhi svapn tootane tak unaka astitv nahian mitata, vaise hi sansar ke n hone par bhi jo usamean pratit hone vale vishayoan ka chintan karate rahate haian, unake janm-mrityuroop sansar ki nivritti nahian hoti. jab manushy svapn dekhata rahata hai, tab niand tootane ke pahale use b di-b di vipattiyoan ka samana karana p data hai; parantu jab usaki nand toot jati hai, vah jag p data hai, tab n to svapn ki vipattiyaan rahati haian aur n unake karan hone vale moh adi vikar. uddhav ji! ahankar hi shok, harsh, bhay, krodh, lobh, moh, spriha aur janm-mrityu ka shikar banata hai. atma se to inaka koee sambandh hi nahian hai.

uddhav ji! deh, indriy, pran, aur man mean sthit atma hi jab unaka abhiman kar baithata hai-unhean apana svaroop man leta hai-tab usaka nam ‘jiv’ ho jata hai. us sookshmatisookshm atma ki moorti hai-gun aur karmoan ka bana hua liang sharir. use hi kahian sootratma kaha jata hai aur kahian mahattattv. usake aur bhi bahut-se nam haian. vahi kalaroop parameshvar ke adhin hokar janm-mrityuroop sansar mean idhar-udhar bhatakata rahata hai. vastav mean man, vani, pran aur sharir ahankar ke hi kary haian. yah hai to nirmool, parantu devata, manushy adi anek roopoan mean isi ki pratiti hoti hai. mananashil purush upasana ki shan par chadhakar jnan ki talavar ko atyant tikhi bana leta hai aur usake dvara dehabhiman ka-ahankar ka moolochchhed karake prithvi mean dirdvand hokar vicharata hai. phir usamean kisi prakar ki asha-trishna nahian rahati.
