bhagavanh! ap koee udyog to karate hai nahian. phir apako bhog kahaan se prapt hoange? brahman devata! bina bhog ke hi apaka yah sharir itana hrasht-pusht kaise hai? yadi hamare sunane yogy ho, to avashy batalaiye. ap vidvanh, samarth aur chatur haian. apaki batean b di adbhut aur priy hoti haian. aisi avastha mean ap sare sansar ko karm karate hue dekhakar bhi samabhav se p de hue haian, isaka kya karan hai?’

narad ji kahate haian- dharmaraj! jab prahlad ji ne mahamuni dattatrey ji se is prakar prashn kiya, tab ve unaki amritamayi vani ke vashibhoot ho musakarate hue bole.

dattatrey ji ne kaha- daityaraj! sabhi shreshth purush tumhara samman karate haian. manushyoan ko karmoan ki pravritti aur unaki nivritti ka kya phal milata hai, yah bat tum apani jnanadrishti se janate hi ho. tumhari anany bhakti ke karan devadhidev bhagavanh narayan sada tumhare hriday mean virajaman rahate haian aur jaise soory andhakar ko nasht kar dete haian, vaise hi ve tumhare ajnan ko nasht karate rahate haian. to bhi prahlad! maianne jaisa kuchh jana hai, usake anusar maian tumhare prashnoan ka uttar deta hooan. kyoanki atmashuddhi ke abhilashiyoan ko tumhara samman avashy karana chahiye.

prahlad ji! trishna ek aisi vastu hai, jo ichchhanusar bhogoan ke prapt hone par bhi puri nahian hoti. usi ke karan janm-mrityu ke chakkar mean bhatakana p data hai. trishna ne mujhase n jane kitane karm karavaye aur unake n jane kitani yoniyoan mean mujhe dala. karmoan ke karan anekoan yoniyoan mean bhatakate-bhatakate daivavash mujhe yah manushy yoni mili hai, jo svarg, moksh, tiryagyoni tatha is manav deh ki bhi prapti ka dvar hai- isamean puny karean to svarg, pap karean to pashu-pakshi adi ki yoni, nivritt ho jayean to moksh aur donoan prakar ke karm kiye jayean to phir manushy yoni ki hi prapti ho sakati hai. parantu maian dekhata hooan ki sansar ke stri-purush karm to karate haian sukh ki prapti aur duahkh ki nivritti ke liye, kintu usaka phal ulata hota hai- ve aur bhi duahkh mean p d jate haian. isiliye maian karmoan se uparat ho gaya hooan.

sukh hi atma ka svaroop hai. samast cheshtaoan ki nivritti hi usaka sharir-usake prakashit hone ka sthan hai. isaliye samast bhogoan ko manorajy matr samajhakar maian apane prarabdh ko bhogata hua p da rahata hooan. manushy apane sachche svarth arthath vastavik sukh ko, jo apana svaroop hi hai, bhoolakar is mithya dvait ko saty manata hua atyant bhayankar aur vichitr janmoan aur mrityuoan mean bhatakata rahata hai. jaise ajnani manushy jal mean utpann tinake aur sevar se dhake hue jal ko jal n samajhakar jal ke liye mrigatrishna ki or dau data hai, vaise hi apani atma se bhinn vastu mean sukh samajane vala purush atma ko chho dakar vishayoan ki or dau data hai.

prahlad ji! sharir adi to prarabdh ke adhin haian. unake dvara jo apane liye sukh pana aur duahkh mitana chahata hai, vah kabhi apane kary mean saphal nahian ho sakata usake bar-bar kiye hue sare karm vyarth ho jate haian.
