rajanh! isake bad jal ke gun ras ko tejastattv gras leta hai aur jal niras hokar tej mean sama jata hai. tadanantar vayu tej ke gunaroop ko gras leta hai aur tej rooparahit hokar vayu mean lin ho jata hai. ab akash vayu ke gun sparsh ko apane mean mila leta hai aur vayu sparshahin hokar akash mean shant ho jata hai. isake bad tamas ahankar akash ke gun shabd ko gras leta hai aur akash shabdahin hokar tamas ahankar mean lin ho jata hai. isi prakar taijas ahankar indriyoan ko aur vikarik (sattvik) ahankar indriyadhishthatri devata aur indriyavrittiyoan ko apane mean lin kar leta hai. tatpashchath mahattattv ahankar ko aur sattv adi gun mahattattv ko gras lete haian.

parikshit! yah sab kal ki mahima hai. usi ki prerana se avyakt prakriti gunoan ko gras leti hai aur tab keval prakriti-hi-prakriti shesh rah jati hai. vahi charachar jagath ka mool karan hai. vah avyakt, anadi, anant, nity aur avinashi hai. jab vah apane karyoan ko lin karake pralay ke samay samyavastha ko prapt ho jati hai, tab kal ke avayav varsh, mas, din-rat kshan adi ke karan usamean parinam, kshay, vriddhi adi kisi prakar ke vikar nahian hote. us samay prakriti mean sthool athava sookshmaroop se vani, man, sattvagun, rajogun, tamogun, mahattattv adi vikar, pran, buddhi, indriy aur unake devata adi kuchh nahian rahate. srishti ke samay rahane vale lokoan ki kalpana aur unaki sthiti bhi nahian rahati. us samay svapn, jagrath aur sushupti-ye tin avasthaean nahian rahatian. akash, jal, prithvi, vayu, agni aur soory bhi nahian rahate. sab kuchh soye hue ke saman shoony-sa rahata hai. us avastha ka tark ke dvara anuman karana bhi asambhav hai. us avyakt ko hi jagath ka moolabhoot tattv kahate haian. isi avastha ka nam ‘prakrit pralay’ hai. us samay purush aur prakriti donoan ki shaktiyaan kal ke prabhav se kshin ho jati haian aur vivash hokar apane mool-svaroop mean lin ho jati haian.

parikshit! (ab atyantik pralay arthath moksh ka svaroop batalaya jata hai.) buddhi, indriy aur unake vishayoan ke roop mean unaka adhishthan, jnanasvaroop vastu hi bhasit ho rahi hai. un sabaka to adi bhi hai aur ant bhi. isaliye ve sab saty nahian haian. ve drishy haian aur apane adhishthan se bhinn unaki satta bhi nahian hai. isaliye ve sarvatha mithya-mayamatr hai. jaise dipak, netr aur roop-ye tinoan tej se bhinn nahian haian, vaise hi buddhi indriy aur inake vishay tanmatraean bhi apane adhishthan svaroop brahm se bhinn nahian haian yadyapi vah inase sarvatha bhinn haian; (jaise rajjuroop adhishthan mean adhyast sarp apane-apane adhishthan se prithakh nahian hai, parantu adhyast sarp se adhishthan ka koee sambandh nahian hai). parikshit! jagrath, svapn aur sushupti-ye tinoan avasthaean buddhi ki hi haian. atah inake karan antaratma mean jo vishv, taijas aur prajnaroop nanatv ki pratiti hoti hai, vah keval mayamatr hai. buddhigat nanatv ka ekamatr saty atma se koee sambandh nahian hai.
