‘buddherbhedan dhriteshchaiv gunatastrividhan shrrinu’- bhagavan kahate haian ki buddhi bhi ek hai aur dhriti bhi ek hai; parantu gunoan ki pradhanata se us buddhi aur dhriti ke bhi sattvik, rajas aur tamas- ye tin-tin bhed ho jate haian. unaka maian thik-thik vivechan karooanga aur tho de mean bahut vishesh bat kahooanga, unako tum man lagakar, dhyan dekar thik tarah se suno. dhriti shrotradi karanoan mean nahian ayi hai. isalie bhagavan ‘chaiv’ pad ka prayog karake kah rahe haian ki jaise buddhi ke tin bhed bataooanga, aise hi dhriti ke bhi tin bhed bataooanga. sadharan drishti se dekhane par to dhriti bhi buddhi ka hi ek gun dikhati hai. buddhi ka ek gun hote hue bhi dhriti buddhi se alag aur vilakshan hai; kyoanki dhriti svayan arthat karta mean rahati hai. us dhriti ke karan hi manushy buddhi ka thik-thik upayog kar sakata hai. dhriti jitani shreshth arthat sattviki hogi, sadhak ki (sadhan mean) buddhi utani hi sthir rahegi. sadhan mean buddhi ki sthirata ki jitani avashyakata hai, utani avashyakata man ki sthirata ki nahian hai. haan, ekaansh mean anima adi siddhiyoan ki prapti mean man ki sthirata ki avashyakata hai; parantu paramarthik unnati mean to buddhi ke apane uddeshy par sthir rahane ki hi jyada avashyakata hai[1] sadhak ki buddhi bhi sattvik ki ho aur dhriti bhi sattviki ho, tabhi sadhak apane sadhan mean dridhata se laga rahega. isalie in donoan ke bhed janane ki avashyakata hai. ‘prithaktven’- unake bhed alag-alag thik tarah se kahooanga arthat buddhi aur dhriti ke vishayoan mean bhi kya-kya bhed hote haian, unako bhi kahooanga. ‘prochyamanamasheshan’- bhagavan kahate haian ki buddhi aur dhriti ke vishay mean janane ki jo-jo avashyak batean haian, un sabako maian poora-poora kahooanga, jisake bad phir janana baki nahian rahega. sanbandh- ab bhagavan sattviki buddhi ke lakshan batate haian.

- ↑ buddhi ke dvara to apana dhyey (lakshy) thik-thik samajh mean ata hai aur dhriti ke dvara karta svayan us lakshy par dridh rahata hai. sadhak pahale kaise hi bhavoan aur acharanoan vala arthat papi se papi aur durachari se durachari kyoan n raha ho, vah bhi ‘mujhe’ to paramatmaprapti hi karani hai- is uddeshy par dridh rahata hai, to usake sab pap nasht ho jate haian (gita 9:30).
