chaturth adhyay avataranika shri bhagavan ne doosare adhyay ke untalisavean shlok mean arjun se kaha ki jnanayog mean apane vivek ke anusar vicharapoorvak chalane se jis samay buddhi ki prapti hoti hai, usi ko too karmayog ke vishay mean sun arthat karmayog mean nishkam bhavapoorvak parahitarth kartavy karm karane se yah samabuddhi kaise prapt hoti hai, ise sun- ‘esha teabhihita saankhye buddhiryoge tvimaan shrunu.’ phir karmayog ka varnan karate hue prasanganusar arjun ke prashn karane par sthitaprajn ke lakshan batakar adhyay ka vishay samapt kiya hai. tisare adhyay ke aranbh mean arjun ne prashn kiya ki apake mat mean jab buddhi shreshth many hai, to phir ap mujhe ghor karm[1] mean kyoan lagata haian? isake uttar mean bhagavan ne chauthe shlok se untisavean shlok tak vividh prakar se kartavy karm karane ki avashyakata ka pratipadan karate hue siddh kiya ki kartavy karm karane se hi samabuddhi prapt hoti hai. phir tisavean shlok mean bhagavannishtha ke anusar kartavy karm karane ki vishesh vidhi batayi ki vivekapoorvak sanpoorn karmoan ko mere arpan karake tatha nishkam, nirmam aur niahsantap hokar shastravihit kartavy-karmoan ko karana chahiye. kartavy-karm karane ki is vidhi ko ‘apana mat’ kahate hue bhagavan ne ikatisavean battisav shlokoan mean anvay aur vyatirek vidhi se apane is mat ki pushti ki tatha paiantisavean shlok mean is vidhi ke palan par vishesh jor dete hue kaha ki apane kartavy ka palan karate hue marana bhi shreyaskar hai- ‘svadharme nidhanan shreyah.’ is par arjun ne chhattisavean shlok mean prashn kiya ki manushy n chahate hue bhi kisase prerit hokar pap[2] kar baithata hai? isake uttar mean bhagavan ne ‘kam’ arthat kamana ko hi sare papoan, anarthoan ka hetu batakar aant mean kamaroop shatru ko mar dalane ki ajna di. yadyapi tisare adhyay ke saiantisavean shlok mean bhagavan lagatar upadesh de rahe haian, tathapi taiantalisavean shlok mean arjun ke prashn ka uttar samapt hone par maharshi vedavyas ji tisare adhyay ki samapti kar dete haian aur naya[3] adhyay aranbh kar dete haian. isase aisa maloom deta hai ki arjun ke prashn ka uttar samapt hone par bhagavan kuchh samay ke liye ruk jate haian; phir doosare adhyay ke saiantalisavean- a datalisavean shlokoan se jis karmayog ka vishay chal raha tha, usi ko chauthe adhyay ke pahale shlok mean ‘imamh’ pad se punah aranbh karate haian. atah chautha adhyay tisare adhyay ka hi parishisht mana jata hai. karmayog mean do batean mukhy haian-
arjun karmoan ka svaroop se tyag karana chahate haian, isiliye tisare adhyay ke aranbh mean bhagavan se kahate haian ki ap mujhe ghor karm mean kyoan lagate haian? atah tisare adhyay mean to bhagavan anek prakar se kartavy karmoan ke acharan ki avashyakatanusar par vishesh jor dete haian aur sath hi karmayog ko samajhane ki tattvik batean bhi kahate haian; parantu is chauthe adhyay mean karmayog ki tattvik batoan ko samajhane par vishesh jor dete hue kartavy karmoan ka palan karana avashyak batate haian. tatpary yah hai ki tisare aur chauthe- donoan hi adhyayoan mean uparyukt donoan batean kahi gayi haian; kiantu tisare adhyay mean kartavy-karmoan ke acharan ki bat mukhy hai aur chauthe adhyay mean kartavy karmoan ke vishay mean samajh[4] ki bat mukhy hai- ‘tatte karm pravakshyami yajjnatva mokshyaseashubhath’.[5] jo karmayog anadi hote hue bhi is bhoomandal par janane vale vishesh purush ke n rahane se bahut kal se luptapray ho gaya tha, usi karmayog ka varnan punah aranbh karate hue bhagavan pahale tinoan shlokoan mean karmayog ki paranpara batakar usaki anadita siddh karate haian. |
