pratham adhyay
sanbandh- dhritarashtr ne pahale shlok mean apane aur paandu ke putroan ke vishay mean prashn kiya tha. usaka uttar sanjay ne doosare shlok se unnisavean shlok tak de diya. ab sanjay bhagavadgita ke prakaty ka prasang age ke shlok se aranbh karate haian.

arth- he mahipate dhritarashtr! ab shastroan ke chalane ki taiyari ho rahi thi ki us samay anyayapoorvak rajy ko dharan karane vale rajaoan aur unake sathiyoan ko vyavasthit roop se samane kh de hue dekhakar kapidhvaj paandu putr arjun ne apana gaandiv dhanush utha liya aur aantaryami bhagavan shrikrishn se ye vachan bole.
vyakhya- ‘ath’- is pad ka tatpary hai ki ab sanjay bhagavan shrikrishn aur arjun ke sanvadaroop ‘bhagavadgita’ ka aranbh karate haian. atharahavean adhyay ke chauhattaravean shlok mean ae ‘iti’ pad se yah sanvad samapt hota hai. aise hi bhagavadgita ke upadesh ka aranbh usake doosare adhyay ke gyarahavean shlok se hota hai aur atharahavean adhyay ke chhachhathavean shlok mean yah upadesh samapt hota hai.
pravritte shastrasanpate- yadyapi pitamah bhishm ne yuddharanbh ki ghoshana ke lie shankh nahian bajaya tha, pratyut keval duryodhan ko prasann karane ke lie hi shankh bajaya tha, tathapi kaurav aur paandavasena ne usako yuddharanbh ki ghoshana hi man liya aur apane-apane astr-shastr hath mean uthakar taiyar ho gaye. is tarah sena ko shastr uthaye dekhakar virata mean bharakar arjun ne bhi apana gaandiv dhanush hath mean utha liya.
vyavasthitanh dhartarashtranh drishta- in padoan se sanjay ka tatpary hai ki jab apake patr duryodhan ne paandavoan ki sena ko dekha, tab vah bhaga-bhaga dronachary ke pas gaya. parantu jab arjun ne kauravoan ki sena ko dekha, tab unaka hath sidhe gaandiv dhanush par hi gaya- ‘dhanurudyamy’. isase maloom hota hai ki duryodhan ke bhitar bhay hai ki aur arjun ke bhitar nirbhayata hai, utsah hai, virata hai.
