kabhi kabhi ‘sakanlp’ shabd mean ‘nishchay’ ka arth shamil kar diya jata hai [1]. parantu yahaan par ‘sankalp’ shabd ka upayog, nishchay ki apeksha n kar, amuk bat amuk prakar ki maloom hona, manana, kalpana karana, samajhana, athava kuchh yojana karana, ichchha karana, chiantan karana, man mean lana adi vyaparoan ke liye hi kiya gaya hai. parantu, is prakar vakil ke sadrish, apani kalpanaoan ko buddhi ke samane nirnayarth sirph upasthit kar dene hi se man ka kam poora nahian ho jata. buddhi ke dvara bure-bhale ka nirnay ho jane par, jis bat ko buddhi ne grahy mana hai usaka karmendriyoan se acharan karana, arthat buddhi ki ajna ko kary mean pari‍nat karana- yah nazir ka kam bhi man ko hi karana p data hai. isi karan man ki vyakhya doosari tarah bhi ki ja sakati hai. yah kahane mean koee apattinahian ki, buddhi ke nirnay ki karavaee par jo vichar kiya jata hai, vah bhi ek prakar se sankalp-vikalpatmak hi hai. parantu isake liye sanskrit mean ‘vyakaran=vistar karana’ yah svatantr nam diya gaya hai. isake atirikt shesh sab kary buddhi ke haian. man, apani hi kalpanaoan ke sar-asar ka vichar, nahian karata. sar-asar-vichar karake kisi bhi vastu ka yatharth jnan atma ko kara dena, athava chunav karake yah nishchay karana ki amuk vastu amuk prakar ki hai ya tark se kary-karan-sambandh ko dekhakar nishchit anuman karana, athava kary-akary ka nirnay karana, ityadi sab vyapar buddhi ke haian. sanskrit mean in upayog ko ‘vyavasay’ ya ‘adhyavasay’ kahate haian. atev in do shabdoan ka upayog karake, ‘buddhi’ aur ‘man’ ka bhed batalane ke liye, mahabharat [2] mean yah vyakhya di gee haiah-

vyavasayatmika buddhiah mano vyakaranatmakamh ..

“buddhi (indriy) vyavasay karati hai arthat sar-asar-vichar kuchh nishchay karati hai; aur man, vyakaran athava vistar karata hai- vah vyavastha karane vali pravartak indriy hai; arthat buddhi vyavasayik hai aur man vyakaranatmak hai. bhagavadgita mean bhi “vyavasayatmik buddhiah’’shabd paye jate haian[3]; aur vahaan bhi buddhi ka arth ‘sar-asar-vichar karake nishchay karane vali indriy’ hi hai yatharth mean buddhi, keval ek talavar hai. jo kuchh usake samane ata hai ya laya jata hai, usaki kaant-chhaant karana hi usaka kam hai; usamean doosara koee bhi gun athava dharm nahian haian [4]. sankalp, vasana, ichchha, smriti, dhriti, shraddha, utsah, karuna, prem, daya, sahanubhooti, kritajnata, kam, lajh‍ja, anand, bhay, rag, sang, dvesh, lobh, mad, matsar, krodh ityadi sab man hi ke gun athava dharm haian [5]. jaisi jaisi ye manovritiyaan jagrit hoti jati haian vaise hi vaise karm karane ki or manushy ki pravriti hua karati hai. udaharanarth, manushy chahe jitana buddhiman ho aur yadyapi vah garib logoan ki durdasha ka hal bhali-bhaanti janata ho, tathapi yadi usake hriday mean karunavriti jagrit n ho to use gariboan ki sahayata karane ki ichchha kabhi hogi hi nahian. athava, yadi dhairy ka abhav ho to yuddh karane ki ichchha hone par bhi vah nahian l dega. tatpary yah hai ki, buddhi sirph yahi batalaya karati hai ki, jis bat ko karane ki ham ichchha karate haian usaka parinam kya hoga.
