brahmajnan ho jane se jab buddhi ath‍yanh‍t sam aur nishh‍kam ho jave tab phir manushh‍y ko aur kuchh bhi kartavh‍y age ke liye rah nahian jata; aur isi karan jis marg ka yah mat hai ki virakh‍t buddhi se jnani purush ko is kshan bhangur sansar ke du:kh aur shushh‍k vh‍yavahar ekadam chho d dena chahiye, us marg ke panh‍dit is bat ko nahian jan sakate ki karmayog athava grihash‍thashram ke bartav ka bhi koee ek vichar karane yogh‍y shash‍tr hai. sannh‍yas lene se pahale chith‍t ki shuddhi ho kar jnan-prapti ho jani chahiye, isiliye unh‍hean manjoor hai ki sansar-duniya dari-ke kam us dharm se hi karana chahiye ki jisase chitt ki vritti shuddh hove arthath vah sattvik bane. isi liye ve samajhate haian ki sansar mean hi sadaiv bana rahana pagalapan hai, jitani jalh‍di ho sake utani jalh‍di prath‍yek manushh‍y sannh‍yas le le, is jagat mean usaka yahi param kartavh‍y hai. aisa man lene se karmayog ka sh‍vatannh‍tr mahath‍v kuchh bhi nahian rah jata; aur isi liye sanh‍yasamarg ke panndit saansarik karth‍tavh‍yoan ke vishay mean kuchh tho da sa prasagiank vichar karake garhash‍thh‍yadharm ke karm-akarm ke vivechan ka isaki apeksha aur adhik vichar kabhi nahian karate ki manu adi shash‍trakaroan ke batalaye hue char ashramaroopi jine se chadh kar sannh‍yas ashram ki antim sidhi par jalh‍di pahuanch jao.

isi liye kaliyug mean sannh‍yas marg ke purash‍karta shrishankarachary ne apane gitabhashh‍y mean gita ke karmapradhan vachanoan ki upeksha ki hai; athava unhean keval prashansath‍mak ( arthavad-pradhan ) kalpit kiya hai; aur anh‍t mean gita ka yah phalitarth nikala hai ki karm-sannh‍yas dharm hi gita bhar mean pratipady hai. aur yahi karan hai ki doosare kitane hi tikakaroan ne apane apane samh‍praday ke anusar gita ka yah rahash‍y varnan kiya hai ki bhagavanh ne ranabhoomipar arjun ko nivritti pradhan arthath niri bhakti, ya patanjal yog athava mokshamarg ka hi upadesh kiya hai. isamean koee sanh‍deh nahian ki sannh‍yasamarg ka adhh‍yath‍majnan nirdosh hai, aur usake dvara praph‍t hone vali samh‍yabuddhi athava nishh‍kam avash‍tha bhi gita ko manh‍y hai; tathapi gita ko sannh‍yas marg ka yah karm-samh‍banh‍dhi mat grahy nahian hai ki moksh-prapti ke liye ant mean karmoan ko ekadam chho d hi baithana chahiye. pichhale prakan mean hamane vish‍tar sahit gita ka yah vishesh siddhanh‍t dikhalaya hai ki brahmajnan se praph‍t hone vale vairagh‍y athava samata se hi jnani purush ko jnan-prapti ho chukane par bhi sare vh‍yavahar karate rahana chahiye jagath se jnanayukh‍t karm ko nikal dale to duniya anh‍dhi huee jati hai aur isase usaka nash ho jata hai.
