(4.7) shauanch tapash titikshaan ch maunan svadhyayamarjavamh.
brahmacharyamahiansa ch samatvan dvandv-sajnayoah॥[1]

shauchamh- yani svachchhata. yadi is gun ki kasauti par ham apane samaj ko kasean, to anubhav aega ki hamara samaj bahut ganda hai. yoorop ki tulana mean to bahut hi adhik ganda hai. vaise to hamare dharmashastr mean vyaktigat svachchhata ke niyam bataye gaye haian ki snan karo, hath-paanv, muanh dhoo, adi. unaka palan ham karate hi haian. baki sab ganda hai. pani ganda, raste gande, pakhana ganda. nadi mean snan ke lie jaeange to use bhi ganda kar deange. tirth-sthan to gande-se-gande hoange hi. hamare samajik jivan mean shauch ki kami hai. bhagavan ne dharm ke taur par yah bat kahi hai. aangreji mean kaha hai : klinalines ij nekst too g aaudalines arthat ‘svachchhata ka sthan eeshvariyata ke thik bad hai.’ yah bat sahi hai. jahaan svachchhata hoti hai, vahaan chitt ekadam prasann ho jata hai aur chitt prasann hota hai, to buddhi mean vichar bhi uttam soojhate haian.


shauchamh ke bad hai tapah. apane yahaan anek prakar ke tap mane ge haian. koee shirshasan lagakar ulata kh da hoga aur kahega tap kar raha hooan. koee pani mean kh da rahega aur kahega ki tap kar raha hooan. par bhagavat ka tap is prakar ka nahian. yahaan tap ka arth hai samaj shuddhi, sharir-shuddhi, chitt-shuddhi adi ke lie ki gayi mehanat. aise hi jha doo lagana, sharir shram karana bhi tap hoga. use ham talate haian, to samaj mean anek prakar ki samasyaean kh di hoti haian.


upanishad mean yahaan tak kaha hai ki tumhean yadi koee jijnasa hai, to tap karo. bhrigu apane pita varun rrishi ke pas gaye aur bole ki ‘mujhe brahmajnan samajhaie.’ unhoanne kaha : tpasa brahm vijijnasasv- ‘tap karo aur tap se brahm janane ki koshish karo, kyoanki tumhare lie tapo brahmeti- tap hi brahm hai.’ bhrigu brahm janana chahate haian aur varun kahate haian ki tap hi brahm hai. phir s tapoatapyat- unhoanne tap kiya. s tapah taptva- tapashcharya karake, annan brahmeti vyajanath- jnan hua ki ann brahm hai. guru ne ekadam nahian bataya ki ann brahm hai, tap karake jnan hua hai. kiantu bhrigu ko dhyan mean aya ki isase badhakar bhi koee brahm hai. phir ve guru ke pas gaye to guru ne punah kaha : tapasa brahm vijijnasasv. tapo brahmeti. phir se unhoanne tap kiya. unhean maloom hua : pranoan brahmeti vyajanath- pran hi brahm hai. usake bad phir guru ke pas gaye aur unake adeshanusar tapasya karake jana : tapo brahmeti- tap hi brahm hai. punah guru ke adesh se tap kiya. phir maloom hua : mano brahmeti vyajanath- man brahm hai. phir guru ke pas gaye bar-bar guru ke pas gaye aur bar-bar guru ne kaha : tapasa brahm vijijnasv. upanishad mean bhi yah bar-bar likha hai. aant mean bhrigu ko vijnanan brahmeti vyajanath- vijnan brahm hai, aisa jnan hua. tab unaka samadhan hua. isi ka nam hai ‘bhargavi-varuni vidya’. bhrigu shishy ka nam hai aur varun hai, guru ka nam. guru ke nam se vidya prasiddh honi chahie. lekin shishy ne tap kiya- mehanat ki, isalie yah ‘bhargavi-varuni vidya’ kahalayi. yah vidya guru-shishy donoan ke nam se prasiddh hai. saisha bhargavi varuni vidya, parame vyomanh pratishthita- yah vidya har ek ke hriday mean pratishthit hai. aisa hai tapasya ka anand.

mahabharat mean vyas ne likha hai :

'sukharthinah kuto vidya, kuto vidyarthinah sukhamh.

‘jo sukharthi hai, use vidya kahaan se milegi aur jo vidyarthi hai, use sukh kahaan se milega?’ yani vidyarthi ko sukh nahian. vidya ka anand to hai, kiantu bahari sukh nahian. takaliph bhogani p degi. lekin ajakal to pita ji l dake ko ‘hostal’ mean rakhana chahate haian, to pahale vahaan kya-kya ‘phaisilitiz’ (suvidhaean) haian, yah dekhate haian. bhagavan krishn ke pita ne krishn ko guru ke pas bheja. raja ka l daka tha. guru ke ghar use ek garib brahman ke l dake ke sath jangal se lak di lane ka kam mila. lekin pita ne koee shikayat nahian ki, kyoanki vidya isi prakar prapt ki jati hai. aj to jo bhi parishram hai, sara shikshak ko hi karana p data hai. vidyarthi kursi par baithakar aram se vidya hasil karate haian.


ek rajakumar yooklid ke pas bhoomiti sikhane ke lie aya. yooklid doosare vidyarthiyoan ke sath use bhi sikhane laga. rajakumar bola : maian to raja ka l daka hooan, mujhe sikhane ka koee alag tarika hona chahie. tab yooklid ne kaha : dear iz no r aauyal rod too jyamitri- bhoomiti ke lie koee rajamarg nahian hai. sar yah ki tap ke bina vidya nahian milati.
