arjun ke poochhane par shrikrishn use nishkam karmayog ka pratipadan aur atmoddhar ki prerana ke bare mean batate haian. ab arjun krishn se dhyanayog evan yogabhrasht ki gati ka varnan karane ko kahate haian to krishn batate haian ki he arjun jo sankalp se utpann hone vali sampoorn kamanaoan ko ni:shesharoop se tyag kar[2] aur man ke dvara indriyoan ke samuday ko sabhi or se bhalibhaan‍ti rokakar[3] kram-kram se abhh‍yas karata hua uparati ko prapt ho.[4] tatha dhairyayukt buddhi ke dvara man ko paramatma mean sthit kar ke paramatma ke siva aur kuchh bhi chintan n kare.[5] sambandh- yadi kisi sadhak ka chitt poorvabhh‍yasavash balatkar se vishayoan ki or chala jay to use kya karana chahiye is jijnasa par kahate haian. y‍h sthir n rahane vala aur chanchal man jis-jis shabh‍dadi vishay ke nimitt se sansar mean vicharata hai, us-us vishay se rokakar yani hatakar ise bar-bar paramath‍ma mean hi niruddh kare.[6] kh‍yoanki jisaka man bhali prakar shaant hai, jo pap se rahit hai aur jisaka rajogun shaant ho gaya hai, aise is sachchidanandadh brahm ke sath ekibhav hue yogi ko uttam ananh‍d praph‍t hota hai.[7] vah paparahit yogi is prakar nirantar ath‍ma ko paramath‍ma mean lagata hua sukhapoorvak[8] par brahm paramath‍ma ki prapti roop anant anand ka[9] anubhav karata hai. sanbandh-is prakar abhedabhav se sadhan karane vale saankhyayogi ke dhyan ka aur usake phal ka varnan karake ab is sadhak ke vyavahar kal ki sthiti ka varnan karate haian.[1]


sarvavh‍yapi anant chetan mean ekibhav se sthiti roop yog se yukh‍t ath‍mavala[10] tatha sab mean samabhav se dekhane vala[11] yogi ath‍m ko samh‍poorn bhootoan mean sthi‍t hokar samh‍poorn bhootoan ko ath‍ma mean kalpit dekhata haian.[12] sanbandh-is prakar saankhh‍yayog ka sadhan karane vale yogi-ka aur usaki sarvatr samadarshan roop aantim sthiti ka varnan karane ke bad, ab bhaktiyog ka sadhan karane vale yogi ki aantim sthiti‍ ka aur usake sarvatr bhagavaddarshan ka varnan karate haian.[13] jo purush samh‍poorn bhootoan mean sabake ath‍maroop mujh vasudev ko hi vh‍yapak dekhata hai aur samh‍poorn bhootoan ko mujh vasudev ke aantargat dekhata hai[14] usake liye maian adrishh‍y nahian hota aur vah mere liye adrishh‍y nahian hota.[15] jo purush ekibhav mean sthit hokar[16] samh‍poorn bhootoan mean ath‍maroop se sthit mujh sachchidanandadhan vasudev ko bhajata hai,[17] vah yogi sab prakar se baratata hua bhi mujhamean hi baratata hai.[18] sanbandh-is prakar bhaktiyogadvara bhagavanh ko praph‍t hue purush ke mahattv ka pratipadan karake ab saankhh‍yayogadvara paramath‍ma ko praph‍t hue purush ke samadarshan ka aur mahatth‍v ka pratipadan karate haian- he arjun! jo yogi apani bhaanti samh‍poorn bhootoan mean sam dekhata hai[19] aur sukh athava du:kh ko bhi sab mean sam dekhata hai,[20]vah yogi param shreshh‍th mana gaya hai.

arjun bole-he madhusudhan! jo yah yog[21] apane samabhav se kaha hai, man ke chanchal hone se maian isaki nith‍y sthiti ko nahian dekhata hooan.[22] kh‍yoanki he shrikrishh‍n! yah man b da chanchal, pramathan sh‍vabhavavala,[23] b da dridh[24] aur balavanh[25] hai. isaliye usaka vash mean karana maian vayu ke rokane ki bhaanti ath‍yant dushh‍kar manata hooan[26][13]

shribhagavanh bole-he mahabaho! ni:sandeh man chanchal aur kathinata se vash mean hone vala hai parantu he kuantiputr arjun! yah abhh‍yas[27] aur vairagh‍y se[28]vash mean hota hai. sanbandh-yahaan yah jijnasa hoti hai ki man ko vash mean n kiya jay, to kh‍ya hani hai is par bhagavanh kahate haian- jisaka man vash mean kiya hua nahian hai, aise purushadvara yog dushh‍praph‍y hai[29] aur vash mean kiye hue man vale[30] prayath‍nashil purush dvara[31] sadhan se usaka praph‍t hona sahaj hai-yah mera mat hai. sanbandh-yogasiddhi ke liye man ko vash mean karana param avashh‍yak batalaya gaya. is par yah jijnasa hoti hai ki jisaka man vash mean nahian haian, kiantu yog mean shraddha hone ke karan jo bhagavath‍prapti ke liye sadhan karata hai, usaki marane ke bad kh‍ya gati hoti hai;isi ke liye arjun poochhate haian.[32]


arjun bole-he shrikrishh‍n! jo yog mean shraddha rakhane vala hai, kiantu sanyami nahian hai, is karan jisaka man aantakal mean yog se vichalit ho gaya hai,[33] aisa sadhak yog ki siddhi ko arthath bhagavath‍sakshath‍kar ko n praph‍t hokar kis gati ko praph‍t hota hai?[34] he mahabaho! kh‍ya vah bhagavath‍prapti ke marg mean mohit aur ashrayarahit purush chhinh‍n-bhinn badal ki bhaanti donoan or se bhrashh‍t hokar nashh‍t to nahian ho jat?[35] he shrikrishh‍n! mere is sanshay ko samh‍poornaroop se chhedan karane ke liy ap hi yogh‍y haian, kh‍yoanki apake siva doosara is sanshay ka chhedan karane vala milana samh‍bhav nahian hai[36]


shribhagavanh bole- he parth! us purush ka n to is lok mean nash hota hai or n paralok mean hi kh‍yoanki he ph‍yare! ath‍moddhar ke liye arthath bhagavath‍prapti ke liye karm karane vala koee bhi manushh‍y durgati ko prapti nahian hota[37] yogabhrashh‍t purush[38] punh‍yavanoan ke lokoan ko arthath sh‍vargadi uttam lokoan ko praph‍t hokar, unamean bahut varshoan tak nivas karake phir shuddh acharan vale shrimanh purushoan ke ghar mean janh‍m leta hai. sanbandh-sadharan yogabhrashh‍t purushoan ki gati batalakar ab asaktihit uchh‍ch shreni ke yogabhrashh‍t purushoan ki vishesh gati ka varnan karate haian- athava[39] vairagh‍yavanh purush un lokoan mean n jakar jnanavanh yogiyoan ke hi kul mean janh‍m leta hai; parantu is prakar ka jo yah janh‍m hai so sansar mean ni:sandeh ath‍yant durlabh hai[40] vahaan us pahale sharir mean sangrah kiye hue buddhi-sanyog ko arthath samabuddhi roop yog ke sansh‍karoan ko anayas hi praph‍t ho jata hai aur he kurunandan! usake prabhav se bhi badhakar prayath‍n karata hai. sanbandh-ab pavitr shrimanoan ke ghar mean janh‍m lene vale yogabhrashh‍t purush ki paristhiti ka varnan karate hue yog ko janane ki ichh‍chha ka mahattv batalate haian.[32] vah shriman ke ghar mean janh‍m lene vala yog bhrashh‍t paradhin hua bhi us pahale ke abhh‍yas se hi nish‍sanhed bhagavanh ki or akarshit kiya jata hai tatha samabuddhiroop yog ka jijnasu bhi ved mean kahe hue sakamakarmoan ke phal ko ulh‍langhan kar jata hai.[41] parantu prayath‍napoorvak aiyas karane vala yogi[42] to pichhale anek janh‍moan ke sansh‍kar bal se isi janh‍m mean sansiddh hokar[43] samh‍poorn papoan se rahit ho phir tath‍kal hi paramagati ko praph‍t ho jata hai. yogi tapasviyoan se shreshh‍th hai, shash‍trajnaniyoan se bhi shreshh‍th mana gaya hai or sakamakarm karane valoan se bhi yogi shreshh‍th hai,[44] isase he arjun! too yogi ho. sanbandh-poorvashlok mean yogi ko sarvashreshh‍th batalakar bhagavanh ne arjun ko yogi banane ke liye kaha; kiantu jnanayog, dhh‍yanayog, bhaktiyog aur karmayog adi sadhanoan mean se arjun ko kaun-sa sadhan karana chahiey? is bat ka sh‍pashh‍tikaran nahian kiya. at: ab bhagavanh apane mean ananh‍yaprem karane vale bhakh‍t yogi ki prashansa karate hue arjun ko apani or akarshit karate haian- samh‍poorn[45] yogiyoan mean bhi jo shraddhavan[46] yogi mujhamean lage hue aantarath‍ma[47]se mujhako nirantar bhajata[48] hai, vah yogi mujhe param[49] shreshh‍th manh‍y hai.[50][51]

  5. sadhak jab dhh‍yan karane baithe aur abhh‍yas ke dvara jab usaka man paramatma mean sthir ho jay, tab phir aisa savadhan rahe ki jisamean man ek kshan ke liye bhi paramatma se hatakar doosare vishay mean n ja sake. sadhak ki yah sajagata abhh‍yas ki dridhata mean b di sahayak hoti haian. pratidin dhh‍yan karate-karate jyoan-jyoan abhh‍yas badhe़ tyoan-hi-tyoan man ko aur bhi savadhani ke sath kahian n jane dekar vishesharoop se vishesh kal tak paramatma mean sthir rakhe. phir man mean jis kisi vastu ki pratiti ho, usako kalpanamatr janakar turant hi tyag de. is prakar chitt mean sphurit vastumatr ka tyag karake kramash: sharir, indriy, man aur buddhi ki satta ka bhi th‍yag kar de. sabaka abhav karate-karate jab samash‍t drishh‍y padarth chitt se nikal jayange, tab s‍bake abhav ka nishchay karane vali ekamatr vritti rah jayagi. yah vritti shubh aur shuddh hai, parantu dridh dharana ke dvara isaka bhi badh karana chahiye ya samash‍t drishh‍y-prapanch ka abhav ho jane ke bad yah apane-ap hi shaant ho jayagi isake bad jo kuchh bach rahata hai, vahi achinh‍th‍y tatth‍v hai. ve keval hai aur upadhiyoan se rahit akela hi paripoorn hai. usaka n koee varnan kar sakata hai, n chiantan. atev is prakar drishh‍y-prapanch aur sharir, indriy, man, buddhi aur ahankar ka abhav karake tatha abhav karane vali vritti ka bhi abhav karake achinh‍th‍y-tatth‍v mean sthi‍t ho jana hi paramath‍ma mean man ko sthit kar achinh‍th‍y hona hai.
  6. dhh‍yan ke samay sadhak ko jh‍yoan hi pata chale ki man anh‍yatr vishayoan mean gaya, th‍yoan hi b di savadhani aur dridhata ke sath use rokakar turant paramath‍ma mean lagave. yoan bar-bar vishayoan se hata-hatakar use paramath‍ma mean lagane ka abhh‍yas kare.

  10. sachchidanand, nirgun-nirakar brahm ko jisaki abhinh‍nabhav se sthiti ho gayi haian, aise hi brahm bhoot yogi ka vachak yahaan 'yogayukh‍tath‍ma' pad hai. isi ka varnan gita ke paanchave adhh‍yay ke ikh‍kisavean shh‍lok mean 'brahmayogayukh‍tath‍ma' ke nam se tatha paanchave ke chaubisavean, chhathe ke sattaeesavean aur atharahavean ke chauvanavean shh‍lok mean 'brahmabhoot' ke nam se hua hai.
  11. gita ke paanchave adhh‍yay ke atharahavean aur isi adhh‍yay ke battisavean shh‍lokoan mean jnani mahath‍ma ke samadarshan ka varnan aya hai, usi tarah se yah yogi sabake sath shash‍tranukool yathayogh‍y sadvh‍yavahar karata hua nith‍y-nirantar sabhi mean apane sh‍varoopabhoot ek hi akhanh‍d chetan ath‍ma ko dekhata hai. yahi usaka sabamean samabhav se dekhana hai.
  12. ek advitiy sachchidanandadhan parabrahm paramath‍ma hi sath‍y tatth‍v haian, unase bhinh‍n yah samh‍poorn jagath kuchh bhi nahian hai. is rahash‍y ko bhalibhaanti samajhakar unamean abhinh‍navale se sthi‍t hokar jo sh‍vaph‍n ke drishh‍yavarg mean sh‍vaph‍nadrashh‍ta purush ki bhaanti charachar samh‍poorn praniyoan mean ek advitiy ath‍ma ko hi adhishh‍thanaroop mean paripoorn dekhana hai arthath 'ek advitiy ath‍ma hi in sabake roop mean dikh raha hai, vash‍tav mean unake siva anh‍y kuchh hai hi nahian.' is bat ko bhalibhaanti anubhav karana hai, yahi samh‍poorn bhootoan mean ath‍ma ko dekhana hai. isi tarah jo samash‍t charachar praniyoan ko ath‍ma mean kalpit dekhana hai, yani jaise sh‍vaph‍n se jaga hua manushh‍y sh‍vaph‍n ke jagath ko ya nana prakar ki kalh‍pana karane vala manushh‍y kalpit drishh‍yoan ko apane hi sankalh‍p ke adhar par apane mean dekhata hai vaise hi dekhana, samh‍poorn bhootoan ko ath‍ma mean kalpit dekhana hai. isi bhav ko sh‍pashh‍t karane ke liye bhagavanh ne ath‍ma ke sath 'sarvabhootash‍thamh' visheshan dekar ath‍ma ko bhootoan mean sthi‍t dekhane ki bat kahi, kiantu bhootoan ko ath‍ma mean sthit dekhane ki bat n kahakar keval dekhane ke liye hi kaha.

  14. jaise badal mean akash aur akash mean badal hai, vaise hi samh‍poorn bhootoan mean bhagavanh vasudev haian aur vasudev mean samh‍poorn bhoot haian-is prakar anubhav karana samh‍poorn bhootoan mean vasudev ko aur vasudev mean samh‍poorn bhootoan ko dekhana hai; kh‍yoanki samh‍poorn charachar jagath unh‍hian se uth‍panh‍n hota hai, atev ve hi mahakaran haian tatha jaise badaloan ka adhar akash hai, akash ke bina badal rahean hi kahaan? ek badal hi kh‍yoan-vayu, tej, jal adi koee bhi bhoot akash ke ashray bina nahian thahar sakata, vaise hi is samh‍poorn charachar vishv ke ekamatr paramadhar parameshrvar hi haian. (gita 10.42) atev jis prakar ek hi chatur bahuroopiya nana prakar ke vesh dharan karake ata hai aur jo us bahuroopiye se aur usaki bolachal adi se parichit hai, vah sabhi roopoan mean use pahachan leta hai, vaise hi samash‍t jagath mean jitane bhi roop haian, sab shribhagavanh ke hi vesh hai. is prakar jo samash‍t jagath ke sab praniyoan mean unako pahachan lete haian, ve chahe vesh-bhed ke karan bahar se vh‍yavahar mean bhed rakh‍khean, parantu hriday se to unaki pooja hi karate haian.
  15. abhipray yah hai ki saunh‍dary, madhury, aishrvary, audary adi ke anant samudr, rasamay aur anandamay bhagavanh ke devadurlabh sachchidanandash‍varoop ke sakshath darshan ho jane ke bad bhakh‍t aur bhagavanh ka sanyog sada ke liye avichchhinh‍n ho jata hai.
  16. sarvada aur sarvatr apane ekamatr ishh‍tadev bhagavanh ka dhh‍yan karate-karate sadhak apani bhinh‍n sthiti ko sarvatha bhoolakar itana tanh‍may hea jata hai ki phir usake jnan mean ek bhagavanh ke siva aur kuchh rah hi nahi jata. bhagavath‍yaprapti roop aisi sthiti ko bhagavanh mean ekibhav se sthit hona kahate haian.
  17. jaise bhap, badal, kuhara, booand aur barph adi mean savatr jal bhara hai, vaise hi samh‍poorn charachar vishv mean ek bhagavanh hi paripoorn haian-is prakar janana aur prath‍yaksh dekhana hi sab bhootoan mean sthit bhagavanh ko bhajana hai.
  18. jis purush ko bhagavanh shrivasudev ki prapti ho gayi hai, usako prath‍yaksharoop se sab kuchh vasudev ki dikhalayi deta hai. aisi avash‍tha mean us bhakh‍t ke sharir, vachan aur man se jo kuchh bhi kriyaean hoti haian, usaki drishti mean sab ekamatr bhagavanh ke hi sath hoti haian. vah hathoan se kisi ki seva karata hai to vah bhagavanh ki hi seva karata hai, kisi ko madhur vani se sukh pahuanchata hai to vah bhagavanh ko hi sukh pahuanchata hai, kisi ko dekhata hai to vah bhagavanh ko hi dekhata hai, kisi ke sath kahian jata hai to vah bhagavanh ke sath bhagavanh ki or hi jata hai. is prakar vah jo kuchh bhi karata hai, sab bhagavanh mean hi aur bhagavanh ke hi sath karata hai. isiliye yah kaha gaya hai ki sab prakar se baratata hua (sab kuchh karata hua) bhi bhagavanh mean hi baratata hai.
  19. jaise manushh‍y apane sare angoan mean apane ath‍ma ko samabhav se dekhata hai, vaise hi samh‍poorn charachar sansar mean apane apako samabhav se dekhana-apani bhaanti samh‍poorn bhootoan mean sam dekhana haian.
  20. sarvatr ath‍madrishti ho jane ke karan samash‍t virath vishv uparyukh‍t yogi ka sh‍varoop ban jata hai. jagat mean usake liy doosara kuchh rahata hi nahian. isaliye jaise manushh‍y apane-apako kabhi kisi prakar jara bhi du:kh pahuanchana nahian chahata tatha sh‍vabhavik hi nirantar sukh pane ke liye hi athak cheshh‍ta karata rahata hai or aisa karake n vah kabhi apane par apane ko kripa karane vala manakar badale mean kritajnata chahata hai, n koee ahasan karata hai aur n kapane-ko 'kartavh‍yaparayan' samajhakar abhiman hi karata hai, vah apane sukh ki cheshh‍ta isiliye karata hai ki usase vaisa kiye bina raha hi nahian jata, yah usaka sahaj sh‍vabhav hota hai; thik vaise hi vah yogi samash‍t vishv ko kabhi kisi prakar kianchith bhi du:kh n pahuanchakar sada usake sukh ke liye sahaj sh‍vabhav se hi cheshh‍ta karata hai.
  21. karmayog, bhaktiyog, dhh‍yanayog ya jnanayog adi sadhanoan ki parakashh‍tharoop samata ko hi yahaan 'yog' kaha gaya hai.
  22. 'chanchalata' chitt ke vikshep ko kahate haian. vikshep mean pradhan karan haian-rag dvesh. jahaan rag-desh haian, vahaan 'samata' nahian rah sakati; kh‍yoanki 'rag-dvesh' se 'samata' ka ath‍yant virodh hai. isiliye 'samata' ki sthiti mean man ki chanchalata ko badhak mana gaya hai.
  23. man dipashikha ki bhaanti chanchal to hai hi, parantu mathani ke sadrish pramathanashil bhi hai. jaise dudh-dahi mathani math dalati hai, vaise hi man bhi sharir aur indriyoan ko bilh‍kul kshubh‍dh kar deta hai.
  24. yah chanchal, pramathi aur balavanh man tantunag (goh) ke sadrish ath‍yant dridh bhi hai. yah jis vishay mean ramata hai, usako itani majaboo‍ti se pak d leta hai ki usake sath tadakar-sa ho jata hai. isako 'dridh' batalane ka yahi bhav hai.
  25. jaise b de parakrami hathipar bar-bar ankush-prahar hone par bhi kuchh asar nahian hota, vah manamani karata hi rahata hai, vaise hi vivek roopi ankush ke dvara bar-bar prahar karane par bhi yah balavanh man vishayoan ke bih d van se nikalana nahian chahata.
  26. jaise sharir mean nirantar chalane vale shh‍vasochh‍chhvasaroopi vayu ke pravah ko hath, vichar, vivek aur bal adi sadhanoan ke dvara rok lena ath‍yant kathin hai, usi prakar vishayoan mean nirantar vicharane vale, chanchal, prathamanashil, balavanh aur dridh man ko rokana bhi ath‍yant kathin hai.

  28. is lok aur paralok ke samh‍poorn padarthoan mean se jab asakti aur samash‍t kamanaoan ka poornataya nash ho jata hai, tab use 'vairagh‍y' kahate haian. vairagh‍y ki prapti ke liye anekoan sadhan haian, unamean se kuchh ye haian-
    1. sansar ke padarthoan mean vichar ke dvara ramaniyata, prem aur sukh ka abhav dekhana.
    2. unh‍hean janh‍m-mrith‍yu, jara-vh‍yadhi adi du:kh-doshoan se yukh‍t, anith‍y aur bhayadayak manana.
    3. sansar ke aur bhagavanh ke yatharth tatth‍v ka niroopan karane vale sath-shash‍troan ka adhh‍yayan karana.
    4. param vairagh‍yavanh purushoan ka sang karana, sang ke abhav mean unake vairagh‍yapoorn chitr aur charitroan ka sh‍maran, manan karana.
    5. sansar ke toote hue vishal mahaloan, viran hue nagaroan or gaanvoan ke khandaharoan ko dekhakar jagath ko kshanabhangur samajhana.
    6. ekamatr brahm ki hi akhanh‍d, aditiy satta ka bodh karake anh‍y sabaki bhinh‍n satta ka abhav samajhana.
    7. adhikari purushoan ke dvara bhagavanh ke akathaniy gun, prabhav, tatth‍v, prem, rahash‍y tatha unake lila-charitroan ka eanv divh‍y saunh‍dary-madhury ka bar-bar shravan karana, unh‍hean janana aur un par poorn shraddha karake mugh‍dh hona.
  29. jo abhh‍yas aur vairagh‍y ke dvara apane man ko vash mean nahian kar lete, unake man par rag-dvesh ka adhikar rahata hai aur rag-dvesh ki prerana se vah banhar ki bhaanti sansar mean hi idhar-udhar uchhalata-koodata rahata hai. jab man bhogoan mean itana asakh‍t hota hai, tab usaki buddhi bhi bahushakhavali aur asthir hi bani rahati hai. (gita 2.41-44) aisi avash‍tha mean us 'samath‍vayog' ki prapti nahian ho sakati.

  37. jo sadhak apani shakti ke anusar shraddhapoorvak kalayan ka sadhan karata hai, usaki kisi bhi karan se kabhi shookar, kookar, kit, patang adi nich yoniyoan ki praptiroop ya kumh‍bhipak adi narakoan ki praptiroop durgati nahian ho sakati.
