sambandh-krishn ka arjun se vividh svabhavik shraddha valoan ke tatha ghor tap karane vale logoan ke lakshan batalakar ab bhagavan sattvik ka grahan aur rajas-tamas ka tyag karane ke uddeshy se sattvik rajas tamas ahar, yajn, tap aur dan ke bhed sunane ke liye arjun ko ajna dete haian aur kahate haian-he arjun! bhojan bhi sabako apani-apani prakriti ke anusar tin prakar ka priy hota hai. vaise hi yajn, tap aur dan bhi tin prakar ke hote haian.[2] unake is prithakh-prithakh bhed ko too mujhase sun.

vayu, buddhi, bal, arogy, sukh aur priti ko badhane vale rasayukt, chikane aur sthir rahane vale tatha svabhav se hi man ko priy-aise ahar arthat bhojan karane ke padarth sattvik purush ko priy hote haian. kadavean, khatte, lakshanayukt bahut garam, tikhean, rookhean, dahakarak aur duahkh chinta tatha rogoan ko utpann karane vale ahar arthat bhojan karane ke padarth[3] rajas purush ko priy hote haian. jo bhojan adhapaka, rasarahit, durgandhayukt, vasi aur uchchhisht hai tatha jo apavitr bhi hai, vah bhojan tamas purush ko priy hota hai. jo shastravidhi se niyat, yajn karana hi kartavy hai- is prakar man ko samadhan karane ke, phal n chahane vale purushoan dvara kiya jata hai, vah sattvik hai. parantu he arjun! keval dambhacharan ke liye athava phal-ko bhi drishti mean rakhakar jo yajn kiya jata hai, us yajn ko too rajas jan.[4][1] shastravidhi se hin,[5] annadan se rahit, bina mantroan ke,[6] bina dakshina ke aur bina shraddha ke kiye jane vale yajn ko tamas yajn kahate haian.

sambandh- is prakar ki tin tarah ke yajnoan ke lakshan batalakar, ab tap ke lakshanoan ko prakaran arambh karate hue char shlokoan dvara sattvik tap ke lakshan batalate haian- devata, brahman, guru aur jnanijanoan ka poojan,[7] pavitrata,[8] saralata,[9] brahmachary[10] aur ahiansa[11] yah sharir sambandhi tap kaha jata hai.[12] jo udveg n karane vala, priy aur hitakarak evan yatharth bhashan hai tatha jo ved-shastroan ke pathan ka evan parameshvar ke nam-jap ka abhyas hai, vahi vani sambandhi tap kaha jata hai.[13] man ki prasannata, shaantabhav, bhagavatachintan karane ka svabhav, man ka nigrah aur antahkaran ke bhavoan ki bhali-bhaanti pavitrata is prakar yah manasambandhi tap kaha jata hai. phal ko n chahane vale yogi purushoan dvara param shraddha se kiye hue[14] us poorvokh‍t tin prakar ke tap ko sattvik kahate haian.[15]

sambandh- ab rajas tap ke lakshan batalaye jate haian. jo tap sanskar, man aur pooja ke liye tatha any kisi svarth ke liye bhi[16] svabhav se ya pakhand se kiya jata hai, vah anishchit evan kshanik phal vala tap yahaan rajas kaha gaya hai. sambandh- ab tamas tap ke lakshan batalaye hai, jo ki sarvatha tyajy hai- jo tap moodhatapoorvak hath se, man, vani aur sharir ki pida ke sahit athava doosare ka anisht karane ke liye kiya jata hai, vah tap tamas kaha gaya hai.[17]

sambandh- tin prakar ke tapoan ka lakshan karake ab dan ke tin prakar ke lakshan kahate haian--dan dena hi kartavy hai[18] aise bhav se jo dan desh tatha kal[19] aur patr ke prapt hone par[20] upakar n karane vale ke prati diya jata hai, vah dan sattvik kaha gaya hai.[21] kiantu jo dan kleshapoorvak[22] tatha pratyupakar ke prayojan se[23] athava phal ko drishti mean rakhakar[24] phir diya jata hai, vah dan rajas kaha gaya hai.[25] jo dan bina satkar ke[26] athava tiraskarapoorvak[27] ayogy desh kal mean[28] aur kupatr ke[29]prati diya jata hai, vah dan tamas kaha gaya hai.[30]

  2. manushy jaisa ahar karata hai, vaisa hi usaka antahkaran banata hai aur antahkaran ke anuroop hi shraddha bhi hoti hai. ahar shuddh hoga to usake parinamasvaroop antahkaran bhi shuddh hoga. ‘aharashudau sattvashuddhiah’. (chhandogy 7/26/2) antahkaran ki shuddhi se hi vichar, bhav, shraddhadi gun aur kriyaean shuddh hogi at is prasang mean ahar ka vivechan karake yah bhav dikhalaya gaya hai ki sattvik, rajas aur tamas ahar mean jo ahar jisako priy hota hai, vah usi gunavala hota hai. isi bhav se shlok mean ‘priy’ shabd dekar vishesh lakshy karaya gaya hai. atah ahar ki drishti se bhi usaki pahachan ho sakati hai. yahi bat yajn, dan aur tap ke vishay mean bhi samajh leni chahiye.
  3. nim, karela adi padarth k dave haian, imali adi khatte hai, kshar tatha vividh bhaanti ke namak namakin hai, bahut garam-naram vastuean ati ushn hai. lal mirch adi tikhe haian, bhad mean bhooanje hue annadi rookhe haian aur raee adi padarth dahakarak hai. upayukt padarthoan ko khane ke samay gale adi mean takaliph ka hona, jibh, taloo adi ka jalana, daanto ka am jana, chabane mean dikkat hona, aankhoan aur nak mean pani a jana, hichaki ana adi jo kasht hote haian. use dukh kahate haian. khane ke bad jo pashchayatap hota hai, use ‘chianta’ kahate haian aur khane se jo bimariyaan utpann hoti haian use ‘rog’ kahate haian. is k dave, khatte padarthoan ke khane se duahkh, chianta aur rog utpann hote haian. isaliye inh‍hean dukh, chianta, aur rog ko utpann karane vala kaha jata hai atev inaka tyag karana uchit hai.
  4. jo yajn kisi phal prapti ke udehdashy se kiya gaya hai, vah shastravihit aur shraddhapoorvak kiya hua hone par bhi rajas hai evan jo dambhapoorvak kiya jata hai, vah bhi rajas hai; phir jisamean ye donoan dosh ho, use ‘rajas’ hone mean to kahana hi kya hai.
  5. jo yajn shastravihit n ho ya jisake sampadan mean shastravidhi ki kami ho athava jo shastrokt vidhan ki avahelana karake manamane dhang se kiya gaya ho, use ‘vidhihin’ kahate haian.
  6. jo yajn shastroan aur mantroan se rahit ho, jisamean mantr prayog hue hi n ho ya vidhivatn hue ho athava avahelana se truti rah gayi ho-us yajn ko ‘mantrahin’ kahate haian.
  7. brahma, mahadev, soory, chandrama, durga, agni, varun, yam, indr adi jinamean bhi shastrokt devata hai- shastroan mean jinake poojan ka vidhan hai, us sabaka vachak yahaan ‘dev’ shabd hai. ‘dvij’ shabd brahman, kshatriy aur vaishy in tinoan varnoan ka vachak hone par bhi yahaan keval brahmanoan hi ke liye yukt hai; kh‍yoanki shastranusar brahman hi sabake poojy hai. ‘guru’ shabd yahaan mata-pita, achary, vriddh evan apane se jo varn ashray aur ayu adi mean kisi prakar bhi b de ho, un sabaka vachak hai tatha ‘prajn’ shabd yahaan parameshvar svaroop ko bhalibhaanti janane vale mahatma jnani purushoan ka vachak hai in sabaka yathayogy adar-satkar karana inako namaskar karana dandavath-pranam karana inake charan dhona; inh‍hean chandan, pooshp, dhoop, dip, naivedh adi samarpan karana; inaki yathayogy seva adi karana aur inh‍hean sukh pahuanchane ki uchit cheshta karana adi inaka poojan karata hai.
  8. yahaan ‘pavitrata’ keval sharirik shoch ka vachak haian; kh‍yoanki vani shuddhi ka varnan agale pandrah shlok mean aur man ki shuddhi ka varnan solahavean shlok mean alag kiya gaya hai. jal-mritikadi ke dvara sharir ko svachchh aur pavitr rakhana evan sharir sambandhi samast cheshtaoan ka uttam hona hi sharir ki pavitrata hai.   10. yahaan ‘brahmachary’ shabd sharir sambandhi sab prakar ke maithunoan ke tyag aur bhalibhaanti viry dharan karane ka bodhak hai.
  11. sharir dvara kisi bhi prani ko kisi bhi prakar se kabhi jara bhi kasht n pahuanchane ka nam hi yahaan ‘ahiansa’ hai.
  12. upayukt kriyaoan mean sharir ki pradhanata hai arthat inase sharir ka vishesh sambandh hai aur ye indriyoan ke sahit sharir ko usake samast doshoan ka nash karake pavitr bana dene vali hai, isaliye in sabako ‘sharir sambandhi pat’ kahate haian.

  16. tap ki prasiddhi se jo is prakar jagat mean b daee hoti hai ki yah manushy bada bhari tapasvi hai, isaki barabari kaun kar sakata hai, yah bada shreshth hai adi- usaka nam ‘satkar’ hai. kisi ko tapasvi samajhakar usaka svagat karana, usake samane khade ho jana, pranam karana, man patr dena ya any kisi kriya se usaka adar karana ‘man’ hai, tatha usaki arati utarana, pair dhona, patr-pushpadi shodashopachar se pooja karana, usaki ajna ka palan karana, in sab ka nam pooja hai. is sabake liye jo laukik ya shastriy tap ka acharan kiya jata hai, vahi satkar, man aur pooja ke liye tap karana hai. isake siva any kisi svarth ki siddhi ke liye kiya jane vala tap bhi rajas hai.
  17. jis tap ka varnan isi adhyay ke paanchavean aur chhathe shlokoan mean kiya gaya hai, jo ashastriy, manahkalpit, ghor aur svabhav se hi tamas hai, jisamean dambh ki prerana se ya ajnan se pairoan ko pe d ki dali mean baandhakar sir nicha karake latakana, lohe ke kaanto par baithana tatha isi prakar ki anyany ghor kriyaean karake buri bhavana se arthath doosaroan ki sampatti ka haran karane, usaka nash karane, unake vansh ka uchchhed karane athava usaka kisi prakar kuchh bhi anisht karane ke liye jo apane man, vani, aur sharir ko tap pahuanchana hai- use ‘tamas tap’ kahate haian.
  18. varn, ashram, avastha aur paristhiti ke anusar shastravihit dan karana- apane svatv ko yathashakti doosaroan ke hit mean lagana manushy ka param kartavy hai. yadi vah aisa nahian karata to manushyatv se girata hai aur bhagavan ke kalyanamay adesh ka anadar karata hai. atah jo dan keval is kartavy buddhi se hi diya jata hai, jisamean is lok aur paralok ke kisi bhi phal ki jara bhi apeksha nahian hoti- vahi danapoorn sattvik hai.
  19. jis desh aur jis kal mean jis vastu ki avashyakata ho, us vasatu ke dan dvara usako yathayogy sukh pahooanchane ke liye vahi yogy desh aur kal haian. isake atirikt kurukshetr, haridvar, mathura, kashi, prayag, naimisharany adi tirth sthan aur grahan, poornima, amavasya, sankraanti, ekadashi adi punyakal- jo dan ke liye shastroan mean prashast mane gaye haian, ve bhi yogy desh-kal hai.
  20. jisake pas jahaan jis samay jis vash‍tu ka abhav ho, vah vahian aur usi samay us vastu ke dan ka patr haian jaise- bhookhe, pyase, nangean, daridr, rogi, art, anath aur bhayabhit prani ann, jal, vastr, nivarhayogy dhan, aushadh, ashvasan, ashray aur abhay dan ke patr hai. art praniyoan ki patrata mean jati, desh aur kal ka koee bandhan nahian hai. unaki aturadasha hi patrata ki pahachan hai. inake siva jo shreshth acharanoan vale vidvanh, brahman, uttam brahmachari, vanaprasth, aur sannyasi tatha sevavriti log hai- niko jis vash‍tu ka dan dena shastr mean kartavy batalaya gaya hai- ve bhi apane apane adhikar ke anusar yathashakti dhan adi sabhi avashyak vastu ke danapatr hai.
  21. jinaka unake oopar upakar hai, usaki seva karana tatha yathasadhy use sukh pahuanchane ka prayas karana to manushy kartavy hi hai. use jo log dan samajhate hai, ve vastutah upakari ka tiraskar karate haian aur jo log upakari ki seva nahian karana chahate, ve to kritadhn ki shreni mean hai atev apana upakar karane vale ki to seva karani hi chahiye.
