11.shuchai deshe pratishthapy sthiramasanamatmanah.
natyuchchhtian natinichan chailajinakushottamh॥

kisi svachchh sthan mean aisi jagah apana asan bichhakar, jo n bahut ooanchi ho aur n bahut nichi ho, us par kusha ghas, mrigacharm aur vastr ek ke oopar ek bichhakar;

12.tatraikagran manah kritva yatachittendriyasakriyah.
upavishvasane yujjadyogamatmavishuddhaye॥

vahaan us asan par baithakar, apane man ko ekagr karake aur chitt aur indriyoan ko vash mean karake yogi ko atma ki shuddhi ke lie yogabhyas karana chahie. yahaan yog ka abhipray dhyanayog hai. saty ko hridayangam karane ke lie manushy ko vyavaharik hitoan ke changul se mukt kiya jana chahie, jo (vyavaharik hit) hamare bahy aur bhautik jivan ke sath bandhe hue haian. isake lie mukhy shart anushasit anasakti hai. hamean vastuoan ko us roop mean dekhane ki shakti ka vikas karana chahie, jis roop mean svatantr avikrit buddhi unhean dekhati. isake lie hamean apane-ap ko marg mean se hata lena hoga. jab paithagoras se prashn kiya gaya ki vah apane-ap ko darshanik kyoan kahata hai to usane uttar mean age likhi kahani sunaee. usane manav-jivan ki tulana alimpiya ke mahanh utsav ke sath ki, jahaan par sari duniya rang-virangi bhi d banakar ati hai. kuchh log vahaan mele mean vyapar karane aur anand lene ate haian, kuchh log pratiyogitaoan mean puraskar jitane ki ichchha se ate haian aur kuchh log keval darshak hote haian; aur ye antim prakar ke log darshanik haian. ye apane-ap ko tatkalik samasyaoan aur vyavaharik avashyakataoan ki jaldabaji se mukt rakhate haian. shankarachary ne is bat ko spasht kiya hai ki jnan ke sadhak ke lie adharabhoot yogyataean, nity aur anity ke bich bhed karane ki kshamata, karm ke parthiv aur divy phaloan ka upabhog karane se virakti, atmasanyam aur atmik svatantrata ke lie tivr ichchha haian.[1] pleto ki drishti se sampoorn jnan ka uddeshy ’shiv’ (gud) ke vichar ke manan tak apane-ap ko ooancha uthana hai; yah shiv ya achchhaee astitv aur jnan ka saman roop se strot hai aur adarsh darshanik vah hai, jisaka lakshy poorn roop se jie ge jivan ke ant mean ’’sada shanti ka, antarmukh prashantata ka, ekant aur asampriktata ka aisa jivan hota hai, jisamean bhulae ja chuke sansar dvara is sansar ko bhoolakar vah ’shiv’ (achchhaee) ke ekant chintan ko hi apana svarg samajhata hai. vah aur keval vah hi vastavik jivan hai.’’ ve log dhany haian, jinake hriday pavitr haian, kyoan ki ve paramatma ko dekheange. hriday ka yah pavitrikaran, chittashuddhi, anushasan ki vastu hai. plaitinas hamean batalata hai ki ’’jnan kisi prani mean achanchalata ki sthiti hai. ’’[2]

13.saman kayashirogrivan dharayannachalan sthirah .
sanprekshy nasikagran svan dishashchanavalokayanh॥

apane sharir, sir aur gardan ko sidha aur sthir rakhate hue, nasagr par drishti jamakar, any kisi bhi disha mean n dekhate hue (aankhoan ko idhar-udhar bina bhatakane die);yahaan par asan ka ullekh kiya gaya hai. patanjali ne bataya hai ki asan sthir aur sukhad hona chahie, jisase man ke ekagr hone mean sahayata mile. uchit asan se sharir ko shanti milati hai. yadi sharir mean paramatma ki sajiv pratima ki pratishtha ki jani hai, to sharir ko svachchh rakha jana chahie.samprekshy nasikagramh: drishti ko nasika ke agrabhag par sthir kiya jana chahie. chanchal drishti ekagrata mean sahayak nahian hoti.
