buddhadev mahavirakt aur siddh the. unhoanne apane chamatkaroan se un asur-svabhav valo ke manoan ko mohit kar liya, phir vedoan aur vedokt dharmoan se unaki ashraddha utpann kar di. jab buddhadev mean aiese logoan ki poorn shraddha utpann ho gayi, tab unhoanne jo kuchh bhi kaha us par un logoan ne poorn vishvas kiya. bas, ve bhi ved aur vedokt dharm ki ninda karane lage. jo kisi samajhane se bhi asambhav tha vah saral ho gaya is kary ke sammann ho jane par buddhadev ne us roop se phir doosari bat kahana anuchit samajha.

bad mean jab buddh ke chamatkar ke prabhav se dharmadhikariyoan ko bhi apane dharm se ashraddha hone lagi, tab phir bhagavan ko avatar grahan ki avashkata pratit huee. atah ved evan tadukt dharmoan mean shraddha sthir karane ke liye bhagavan phir shankarachary roop mean prakat hue aur bauddhamat-khandan karake vaidik dharm ki sthapana ki. is tarah donoan hi avataroan ki sarthakata ho jati hai. vaidikagan jaise bhagavan ko anadi manate haian, vaise hi vedoan ka bhi. at: ‘nastiko vedanindakah’ ke adhar par vedanindak ko hi nastik kaha jata hai. tulasidas ji ne bhi kaha hai ki-

‘‘jo koee dooshahian shruti kari tarka,
parahian te koti kalp bhari narka.’’

at: astik log bhagavan se bhi adhik samman vedoan ka karate haian. naiyayik adi parameshvar-nirmit hone se vedoan ka pramany haian. parantu, vedantiyoan ka kahana hai ki yadi parameshvaranirmit hone se vedoan ko pramany hai to yah kahana hoga ki parameshvar mean kya praman hai? yadi ved ko praman kahean, tab to ‘anyoanyashrayadosh’ avashy hoga arthat ved ke adhar par eeshvar siddhi aur eeshvar-nirmit hone se vedapramanyasiddhi.

kaha ja sakata hai ki ‘kshityadkuradikan sakattartri kan karyatvath dhatavath’ ityadi anumano se parameshvar ki siddhi hogi aur eeshvaranirmit hone se vedoan ka pramany siddh hoga. par yah paksh bhi thik nahian hai; kyoanki anuman se eeshvar samany ki hi siddhi hoti hai, eeshvar vishesh ki nahian, jaise dhoom se vahni samany ki hi siddhi hoti hai vahnivishesh ki nahian.
