shrimadbhagavadgita -vishvanath chakravartti
pratham adhyay

api trailokyarajyasy hetoah kinnu mahikrite.
nihaty dhartarashtrannah ka priti syajjanardan॥35॥

he madhusoodan! mujhe marane par bhi athava tinoan lokoan ke rajy ke liye bhi mai in sabako marana nahian chahata, phir prithvi ke liye to kahana hi kya hai ?॥35॥

papamevashrayedasmanh hatvaitanatatayin:॥
tasmannarha vayan hantuan dhartarashtranh sabandhavanh .
svajanan hi kathan hatva sukhin: syam madhav ॥36॥
he janardan! dhritarashtr ke putroan ko marakar hamean kya prasannata hogi? in atatayiyoan ko marakar to hamean pap hi lagega ॥36॥

bhavanuvad- shruti ke anusar agnidata, vishadata, hath mean shastr lekar prahar ke lie udyat vyakti, dhan-apaharanakari, bhoo-haranakari evan stri-haranakari - ye chhah prakar ke log atatayi hote haian. yadi ap kahean ki dekhane matr se bina vichar kiye hi in atatayiyoan ki hatya karani chahie, kyoanki he bharat! shastroan ne atatayiyoan ki hatya ko uchit bataya hai tatha isase hanta ko koee dosh bhi nahian lagata hai, to isaka uttar yah hai ki inaki hatya se hamean pap lagega hi. arjun ke uparokt tark ka ek karan hai. arthashastr ke anusar atatayiyoan ki hatya uchit hai. parantu, arthashastr dharmashastr se durbal hota hai. jaisa ki yajnavalky rrishi kahate haian- “arthashastr se dharmashastr ko prabal jano.” atah dharmashastranusar acharyadi ke vadh se avashy hi pap lagega. itana hi nahian, isase koee aihik sukh bhi prapt nahian hoga. isake lie hi arjun ‘svajanamh’ ityadi vaky kah rahe haian..36..

sararth varshini prakashika vritti-

smriti shastr ke anusar chhah prakar ke atatayiyoan ka vadh karane se pap nahian hota, kintu ‘ma hiansath sarvabhootani’ is shruti-vachan ke anusar kisi bhi prani ki hiansa mat karo - aisa pratipadit hota hai. kintu jahaan shruti evan smriti vakyoan mean paraspar virodh dekha jay, vahaan shruti vakyoan ki hi prabalata manani chahie - aisa shastroan ka nirdesh hai. usi prakar arthashastr ki apeksha dharm shastr dvara di huee vyavastha ko prabal samajhana chahie. is nyayanusar dhritarashtr ke putr atatayi hone par bhi unaka vadh karane se avashy hi pap sparsh karega - yahi arjun ki bhavana hai. ham arjun ke charitr mean aur bhi ek vishesh vyavahar ko lakshy karate haian. mahabharat yuddh ke samapt hone par pandavoan ke putr ghati ashvatthama ko pashu ki bhaanti baandhakar jab arjun ne draupadi ke charanoan mean patak diya, us samay roti huee draupadi ne udaratapoorvak guru putr ko kshama kar dene ko kaha. kintu, bhim ne use turant hi mar dalane ko kaha. us samay arjun ne kinkarttavyavimoodh hokar krishn ki or dekha. krishn ne arjun se kaha - “brahman adham hone par bhi vaghy nahian hai, kintu doosari or astr-shastr dharan kiye hue pranaghati ka avashy hi vadh karana chahie.” arjun ne krishn ke antarik abhipray ko samajhakar brahm bandhu ashvatthama ka mastak mundan kar usake mastak ki mani ko nikal kar use shivir se bahar nikal diya. jaisa bhi ho arjun ka antarik bhav yah hai ki pap ka anushthan kar koee bhi sukhi nahian rah sakata. use paralaukik sukh ki to bat hi kya laukik sukh bhi prapt nahian ho sakata. ved, smriti, sadachar aur atm tushti - ye dharm ke char lakshan haian. svajan arthat bandhu-bandhavoan ke viruddh yuddh karana ved aur sadachar ke viruddh atmaglaniprad hai..36..
