karmendriyani sanyamy y aste manasa smaranh .
indriyarthanvimoodhatma mithyachar: s uchyate ॥6॥

jo purush apane hisse mean ane vale karmoan ko chho d dete haian aur usake dvara karmatit avastha ko prapt karana chahate haian; parantu keval karmendriy pravritti ka nirodh karake unake dvara karm-tyag hota nahian, kyoanki unake antahkaran mean kartavy buddhi rahati hai, aisa hote hue bhi ve bahyantar karmoan ke tyag ka adambar banaye rakhate haian, yah sachamuch daridrata hai, aisa tum jano. arjun, aise log sachamuch vishayasakt haian, yah niahsanshay samajh lo. he dhanurdhar! ab maian tumhean prasanganusar sab prakar ki ashaoan aur ichchhaoan se mukt manushyoan ke lakshan batalata hooan, use dhyanapoorvak suno.[1]

jisaka antahkaran dridh hota hai, jo paramatma ke svaroop mean milakar ekikrit ho jata hai, kintu phir bhi jo samany sansari logoan ki tarah bahari vyavaharoan ka nirvahan karata hai, jo apani indriyoan ko adesh (ajna) nahian deta aur vishay baandheange, is tarah ka bhay use hota nahian, yadi karmendriy karm karate hoan to bhi jo purush unako rokata nahian aur jo apane samane upasthit samast vihit karmoan ko sampadit karata rahata hai, arthath karmoan ka anadar karata nahian, vah karmoan ke vikaroan se lipt nahian hota. vah kabhi kamanaoan ke adhin nahian hota. moh ka mal (avivekaroopi mal) use kabhi nahian lagata. jaise kamal ka patta jal mean rahakar bhi jal se nahian bhiangata, thik vaise hi vah bhi nirlipt rahakar samast laukik vyavaharoan ka nirvahan karata rahata hai aur dekhane mean samany sansari ki hi bhaanti pratit hota hai. jaise jal ke sampark se soory ka bimb prithvi ki vastuoan ki hi bhaanti dikhayi p data hai, vaise hi vah samany drishti se dekhane par samany manushyoan ki hi bhaanti dikhayi p data hai. par yadi vastavik drishti se dekha jay to usaki sachchi sthiti jani hi nahian ja sakati. jo manushy aise lakshanoan se yukt ho, usi ko ashapash se mukt janana chahiye. he arjun! aise hi mukt purush ko yogi kaha jata hai. isiliye maian tumase kahata hooan ki tum bhi isi prakar ke yogi bano. tum apane man ka niyaman karo. antahkaran mean nishchal aur shant ho jao aur tab karmendriyoan ko bhale hi vishayoan mean sukhapoorvak vicharan ke liye svatantr chho d do. phir dekho, tumhean unake dvara badha pahuanchane ka bhay leshamatr bhi n rah jayaga.[2]
