in donoan dharmoan mean jo vishesh bhinnata hai, vah yahi hai. gautam buddh ne yah bat spasht roop se kah di hai, ki atma ya brahm yatharth mean kuchh nahian hai–keval bhram hai; isaliye atm-anatm ke vichar mean ya brahmachiantan ke pach de mean p d kar kisi ko apana samay n khona chahiye[1] dighghanikayoan ke brahmajalasuttoan se bhi yahi bat spasht hoti hai ki atmavishayak koee bhi kalpana buddh ko many n thi[2]. in suttoan mean pahale kaha hai ki atma aur brahm ek hai ya do; phir aise hi bhed batalate hue atma ki bhinn bhinn 62 prakar ki kalpanaean batala kar kaha hai ki ye sabhi mithya ‘drishti’ haian; aur miliandaprashn[3] mean bhi bauddhadharm ke anusar nagasen ne yoonani milind (minaandar) se saph saph kah diya hai ki “atma to koee yatharth vastu nahian hai”. yadi man lean ki atma aur usi prakar brahm bhi donoan bhram hi haian, yatharth nahian hai, to vastut: dharm ki nianv hi gir jati hai. kyoanki, phir to sabhi anity vastuean bach rahati haian, aur nityasukh ya usaka anubhav karane vala koee bhi nahian rah jata; yahi karan hai jo shrishankarachary ne tark drishti se is mat ko agrahy nishchit kiya hai. parantu abhi hamean keval yahi dekhana hai ki asali buddhadharm kya hai, isaliye is vad ko yahian chho d kar dekheange ke buddh ne apane dharm ki kya upapatti batalaee hai. yadyapi buddh ko atma ka astitv many n tha, tathapi in do batoan se ve poornataya sahamat the ki

  1. karm-vipak ke karan nam-roopatmak deh ko (atma ko nahian) nashavan jagat ke prapanch mean bar bar janm lena p data hai, aur
  2. punarjanm ka yah chakkar ya sara sansar hi du:khamay hai; isase chhutakara pa kar sthir shaanti ya sukh ko prapt kar lena atyant avashyak hai. is prakar in do batoan–arthat saansarik du:kh ke astitv aur usake nivaran karane ki avashyakata–ko man lene se vaidikadharm ka yah prashn jyoan ka tyoan bana rahata hai, ki du:kh-nivaran karake atyant sukh prapt kar lene ka marg kaun sa hai; aur usaka kuchh n kuchh thik thik uttar dena avashyak ho jata hai. upanishatkaroan ne kaha hai, ki yajn-yag adi karmoan ke dvara sansar-chakr se chhutakara ho nahian sakata aur buddh ne isase bhi kahian age badh kar in sab karmoan ko hiansatmak atev sarvatha tyajy aur nishiddh batalaya hai. isi prakar yadi svayan ‘brahm’ hi ko ek b da bhari bhram manean, to du:kh-nivaranarth jo brahmajnan-marg hai vah bhi bhraantikarak tatha asanbhav nirnit hota hai. phir du:khamay bhavachakr se chhootane ka marg kauann sa hai?
