arthat “tera karttavy ho chuka, tujhe uttam gati mil gee, ab tere liye til bhar bhi karttavy nahian raha;” aur age spasht roop se yah upadesh kiya hai, ki– vihay tasmadih karyamatman: kuru sthiratmanparakaryamapyatho॥
arthat “atev ab too apana kary chho d, buddhi ko sthir karake parakary kiya kar”[1]. buddh ke karmatyag vishayak upadesh mean-ki jo prachin dharmagranthoan mean paya jata hai–tatha is upadesh mean (ki jise sauandaranand kavy mean ashvaghosh ne buddh ke mukh se kahalaya hai) atyant bhinnata hai. aur ashvaghosh ki in daliloan mean tatha gita ke tisare adhyay mean jo yukti-prayuktiyaan haian, unamean–“tasy kary n vidyate...........tasmadasakt: satatan kary karm samachar” arthat tere liye kuchh rah nahian gaya hai, isaliye jo karm prapt hoan unako nishkam buddhi se kiya kar [2]-n keval arthadrishti se hi kiantu shabdash: samanata hai. atev isase yah anuman hota hai, ki ye dalilean ashvaghosh ko gita hi se mili hai. isaka karan oopar batala hi chuke haian ki ashvaghosh se bhi pahale mahabharat tha. parantu ise keval anuman hi n samajhiye. buddhadharmanuyayi taranath ne buddh-dharmavishayak itihas-sambandhi jo granth tibbati bhasha mean likha hai, usamean likha hai ki bauddhoan ke poorvakalin sannyas-marg mean mahayan panth ne jo karmayogavishayak sudhar kiya tha, use ‘jnani shrikrishn aur ganesh’ se mahayan panth ke mukhy puraskarta nagarjun ke guru rahulabhadr ne jana tha.

is granth ka anuvad roosi bhasha se jarman bhasha mean kiya gaya hai–aangreji mean abhi nahian hua hai. daktar kern ne 1896 eesavi mean buddh dharm par ek pustak likhi thi. yahaan usi se hamane yah avataran liya hai[3]. daktar kern ka bhi yahi mat hai, ki yahaan par shrikrishn ke nam se bhagavadgita hi ka ullekh kiya gaya hai. mahayan panth ke bauddh granthoan mean se, ‘saddharmapuan darik’ namak granth mean bhi bhagavadgita ke shlokoan ke saman kuchh shlok haian. parantu in batoan ka aur any batoan ka vivechan agale bhag mean kiya jayega. yahaan par keval yahi batalana hai, ki bauddh granthakaroan ke hi matanusar mool bauddhadharm ke sannyas-pradhan hone par bhi, usamean bhakti-pradhan tatha karm-pradhan mahayan panth ki utpatti bhagavadgita ke karan hi huee hai; aur ashvaghosh ke kavy se gita ki jo oopar samata batalaee gee hai usase, is anuman ko aur bhi dridhata prapt ho jati hai. pashchimi pan ditoan ka nishchay hai ki mahayan panth ka pahala puraskarta nagarjun shak ke lagabhag sau dedh sau varsh pahale hua hoga, aur yah to spasht hi hai ki is panth ka bijaropan ashok ke rajashasan ke samay mean hua hoga.
