viteliyas namak ek roman badashah tha. kahate haian ki vah, jihva ka sukh hamesha pane ke liye, bhojan karane par kisi aushadhi ke dvara kai kar dalata tha aur pratidin anek bar bhojan kiya karata tha! parantu, aant mean pachhatane vale yayati raja ki katha, isase bhi adhik shikshadayak hai. yah raja, shukrachary ke shap se, buddha ho gaya tha;parantu unhian ki kripa se isako yah sahooliyat bhi ho gee thi, ki apana budhapa kisi ko de kar isake palate mean usaki javani le le. tab isane apane puru namak bete ki tarunavastha maang li aur sau do sau nahian poore ek hajar varsh tak sab duniya ke sare padarth ek manushy ki bhi sukh- vasana ko tript karane ke liye paryaph‍t nahian hai. tab isake mukh se yahi udgar nikal p da kiah-

arthath “sukhoan ke upabhog se vishay-vasana ki tript to hoti hi nahian, kintu vishay-vasana dinoandin usi prakar badhati jati hai jaise agni ki jvala havan-padartho se badhati hai’’ [1]. yahi shlok manusmriti mean bhi paya jata hai.[2]. tatpary yah hai, ki sukh ke sadhan chahe jitane upalabdh hoan, to bhi indriyoan ki ichchha uttarottar badhati hi jati hai; isaliye keval sukhopayog se sukh ki ichchha kabhi tript nahian ho sakati, usako rokane ya dabane ke liye kuchh any upay avashy hi karana p data hai. yah tattv hamare sabhi dharm- granthakaroan ko poornataya many hai aur isiliye unaka pratham upadesh yah hai ki pratyek manushy ko apane kamopabhog ki maryada baandh leni chahiye. jo log kaha karate haian ki is sansar mean param sadhy keval vishayopabhog hi hai, ve yadi ukt anubhoot siddhaant par tho da bhi dhyan dean, to unhean apane man ki nissarata turant hi maloom ho jayegi. vaidik dharm ka yah siddhaant bauddhadharm mean bhi paya jata hai; aur, yayati raja ke sadrish, mandhata namak pauranik raja ne bhi marate samay kaha haiah-[3]

“karshapan namak mahamoolyavan sikke ki yadi varsha hone lage to bhi kam-vasana ki titth‍ia arthath tripti nahian hoti, aur svarg ka bhi sukh milane par ki purush ki kamechchha poori nahian hoti.’’ yah varnan dhammapad [4] namak bauddh granth mean hai. isase kaha ja sakata hai ki vishayopabhog roopi sukh ki poorti kabhi ho nahian sakati aur isiliye har ek manushy ko hamesha aisa maloom hota hai ki “maian’ duahkhi hooan’’. manushyoan ki is sthiti ko vicharane se yahi siddhaant sthir karana p data hai jo mahabharat [5]mean kaha gaya haiah-

sukhadvahutaran duahkhan jivite nasti sanshayah ..

arthath “is jivan mean yani sansar mean sukh ki apeksha duahkh hi adhik hai.’’ yahi siddhaant sadhu tukaram ne is prakar kaha haiah- “sukh dekho to raee barabar hai aur duahkh parvat ke saman hai.’’ upanishatkaroan ka bhi siddhaant aisa hi hai maitrayu. [6]. gita [7] mean bhi kaha gaya hai ki manushy ka janm ashashvat aur “duahkhoan ka ghar’’ hai tatha yah sansar anity aur “sukharahit’’ hai.
