is bat ka vivechan ho chuka, ki bhagavadgita bhagavatadharm par pradhan granth hai, aur yah bhagavatadharm eesaee san ke lagabhag 1400 varsh pahale pradurbhoot hua; evan sthool man se yah bhi nishchit kiya gaya, ki usake kuchh shatakoan ke bad mool gita bani hogian. aur, yah bhi batalaya gaya, ki mool bhagavatadharm ke nishkam pradhan hone par bhi age usaka bhakti-pradhan svaroop ho kar aant mean vishishtadvait ka bhi usamean samavesh ho gaya. mool gita tatha mool bhagavatadharm ke vishay mean isase adhik hal, nidan vartaman samay mean to, maloom nahian hai; aur yahi dasha pachas varsh pahale vartaman gita tatha mahabharat ki bhi thi. parantu daktar bhaandarakar, paralokavasi kashinathapant tailang, paralokavasi shankar balakrishn dikshit, tatha ravabahadur chiantamanirav vaidy prabhriti vidvanoan ke udhog se vartaman gita evan vartaman mahabharat ka kal nishchit karane ke liye yatheshth sadhan upalabdh ho gaye haian; aur, abhi hal hi mean svargavasi tryambak gurunath kale ne do-ek praman aur bhi batalae haian.

in sab ko ekatrit kar, tatha hamare mat se unamean jin batoan ka milana thik jancha, unako bhi milakar parishisht ka yah bhag sankshep mean likha gaya hai. is parishisht-prakaran ke arambh hi mean hamane yah bat praman sahit dikhala di hai, ki vartaman mahabharat tatha vartaman gita, donoan granth ek hi vyakti dvara rache gaye haian. yadi in donoan grantho ko ek hi vyakti dvara rache gaye arthat ekakalin man lean, to mahabharat ke kal se gita ka kal bhi sahaj hi nishchit ho jata hai. atev is bhag mean pahale ve praman diye gaye haian jo vartaman mahabharat ka kal nishchit karane mean atyant pradhan mane jate haian, aur unake bad svatantr riti se ve praman diye gaye haian jo vartaman gita ka kal nishchit karane mean upayogi haian. aisa karane ka uddeshy yah hai, ki mahabharat ka kalanirnay karane ke jo praman haian, ve yadi kisi ko sandigdh pratit hoan, to bhi unake karan gita ke kal ka nirnay karane mean koee badha n hone pavean.

mahabharat-kal-nirnay-mahabharat-granth bahut b da hai aur usi mean yah likha hai ki vah lakshashlekatmak hai. parantu ravabahadur vaidy ne, mahabharat ke apane tikatmak aangreji granth ke pahale parishisht mean yah batalaya hai,[1]. ki jo mahabharat-granth is samay upalabdh hai, usamean lakh shlokoan ki sankhya mean kuchh nyoonadhikata ho gee hai, aur yadi unamean harivansh ke shlok mila diye javean to bhi yogaphal ek lakh nahian hota. tathapi yah mana ja sakata hai, ki bharat ka mahabharat hone par jo brihat granth taiyar hua, vah pray: vartaman granth hi sa hoga. oopar batala chuke haian, ki is mahabharat mean yask ke nirookt tatha manusanhita ka ullekh aur bhagavadgita mean to brahmasootroan ka bhi ullekh paya jata hai.
