prithaktven tu yajjnanan nanabhavanprigvidhanh .
vetti sarveshu bhooteshu tajjnanan viddhi rajasamh ॥21॥

parantu jo jnan arthat jis jnan ke dvara manushy sampoorn praniyoan mean alag-alag roop se anek bhavoan ko alag-alag janata hai, us jnan ko tum rajas samajho.

vyakhya- rajas jnan mean rag ki mukhyata hoti hai, kriya, padarth aur vyakti ko satta dekar unake sath ragapoorvak sambandh jo dane ke karan sab alag-alag dikhate haian.

yattu kritsnavadekasminkarye saktamahaitukamh .
atattvarthavadalpan ch tattamasamudahritamh ॥22॥

kintu jo jnan arthat jis jnan ke dvara manushy ek karyaroop sharir mean hi sampoorn ki tarah asakt rataha hai tatha jo yukti rahit, vastavik jnan se rahit aur tuchchh hai, vah tamas kaha gaya hai.

vyakhya- tamas manushy mean moodhata ki pradhanata hoti hai. vah utpann aur nasht hone vale paanchabhautik sharir ko hi apana svaroop manata hai. </poem> is shlok mean ‘jnan’ shabd n dene ka tatpary hai ki vastav mean yah jnan nahian hai, pratyut ajnan hi hai. bhagavat mean ise ‘pashubuddhi’ kaha gaya hai-‘pashubuddhimimaan jahi’[1].
