(19) moodh agrah se, svayan kasht utha kar, athava (jagaran-maran adi karmoan ke dvara) doosaroan ko satane ke hetu se kiya hua tap tamas kahalata hai.

tilak ke anusar-[ye tap ke bhed hue. ab dan ke trividh bhed batalate haian-]

(20) vah dan sattvik kahalata hai ki jo kartavyabuddhi se kiya jata hai, jo (yogy) sthal-kal aur patr ka vichar karake kiya jata hai, eanv jo apane oopar pratyupakar n karane vale ko diya jata hai. (21) parantu (kiye hue) upakar ke badale mean, athava kisi phal ki asha rakh kar, b di kathinaee se, jo dan diya jata hai vah rajas dan hai. (22) ayogy sthan mean, ayogy kal mean apatr manushy ko, bina satkar ke, athava avahelanapoorvak, jo dan diya jata hai vah tamas dan kahalata hai.

tilak ke anusar-[ahar, yajn, tap aur dan ke saman hi jnan, karm, karta, buddhi, dhriti aur sukh ki trividhata ka varnan agale adhyay mean kiya gaya hai [1]. is adhyay ka gunaved-prakaran yahian samapt ho chuka. ab brahma-nirdesh ke adhar par ukt sattvik karm ki shreshthata aur sangrahayata siddh ki javegi. kyoanki, uparyukt sampoorn vivechan par samanyatah yah shanka ho sakati hai ki karm sattvik ho ya rajas, ya tamas, kaisa bhi kyoan n ho, hai to vah duahkhakarak aur doshamay hi; is karan sare karmoan ka tyag kiye bina brahmaprapti nahian ho sakati. aur jo yah bat saty hai to phir karm ke sattvik, rajas adi bhed karane se labh hi kya hai? is akshep par gita ka yah uttar hai ki karm ke sattvik, rajas aur tamas bhed parabrahm se alag nahian haian. jis sankalp mean brahm ka nirdesh kiya gaya hai, usi mean sattvik karmoan ka aur satkarmoan ka samavesh hota hai; isase siddh hai ki ye karm adhyatm drishti se bhi tyajy nahian hai[2]. parabrahm ke svaroop ka manushy ko jo kuchh jnan hua hai vah sab tin shabdoan ke nirdesh mean grathit hai. inamean se uan akshar brahm hai, aur upanishadoan mean isaka bhinn bhinn arth kiya gaya hai[3]. aur jab yah varnakshararoopi brahm hi jagat ke arambh mean tha, tab sab kriyaoan ka arambh vahian se hota hai. “tath=vah” shabd ka arth hai samany karm se pare ka karm, arthat nishkam buddhi se phalasha chho dakar kiya hua sattvik karm; aur ‘sath’ ka arth vah karm hai ki jo yadyapi phalashasahit ho to bhi shastranusar kiya gaya ho aur shuddh ho. is arth ke anusar nishkam buddhi se kiye hue sattvik karm ka hi nahian, varanh shastranusar kiye hue satakarm ka bhi parabrahm ke samany aur sarvamany sankalp mean samavesh hota hai; atev in karmoan ko tyajy kahana anuchit hai. ant me ’tat’ aur ’sat’ karmoan ke atirikt ek ‘asat’ arthat bura karm bach raha. parantu vah donoan lokoan mean garhy mana gaya hai, is karan antim shlok mean soochit kiya hai ki us karm ka is sankalp mean samavesh nahian hota. bhagavan kahate haian ki-]
