usamean n keval brahmajnan aur saankhy ka mel kar diya hai, kiantu kee sthanoan par chhaandogy, vrihadaranyak, taittiriy, kath aur eeshavasy upanishadoan ke vaky tatha shlok bhi usamean pramanarth uddhrit kiye gaye hai. haan, yah sach hai, ki maitryupanishad mean spasht roop se ukt upanishadoan ke nam nahian diye gaye haian. parantu in vakyoan ke pahale aise par-vakyadarshak pad rakhe gaye haian, jaise “evan hyah” ya “uktan ch” (=aisa kaha hai), isi liye is vishay mean koee sandeh nahian rah jata, ki ye vaky doosare granthoan se liye gaye haian-svayan maitryupanishatkar ke nahian haian, aur any upanishadoan ke dekhane se sahaj hi maloom ho jata hai ki ve vachan kahaan se uddhrit kiye gaye haian. ab is maitryupanishad mean kalaroopi athava sanvatsararoopi brahm ka vivechan karate samay yah varnan paya jata hai, ki “magha nakshatr ke arambh se kramash: shravishtha arthat dhanishtha nakshatr ke adhe bhag par pahuanchane tak (maghadyan shravishthardhan)” dakshinayan hota hai; aur sarp arthat ashlesha nakshatr se viparit kram poorvak (arthat ashlesha, pushy, adi kram se) pichhe ginate hue dhanishtha nakshatr ke adhe bhag tak uttarayan hota hai;[1]. isamean sandeh nahian, ki udagayan sthiti-darshak ye vachan tatkalin udagayan sthiti ko lakshy karake hi kahe gaye haian; aur phir usase is upanishad ka kalanirnay bhi ganit ki riti se sahaj hi kiya ja sakata hai.

parantu dekh p data hai, ki kisi ne bhi usaka is drishti se vichar nahian kiya hai. maitryupanishad mean varnit yah udagayan sthiti vedaangajyotish mean kahi gee udagayan sthiti ke pahale ki hai. kyoanki vedaangajyotish mean yah bat spasht roop se kah di gee hai, ki udagayan ka arambh dhanishtha nakshatr ke arambh se hota hai, aur maitryupanishad mean usaka arambh ‘dhanishthardh’ se kiya gaya hai. is vishay mean matabhed hai, ki maitryupanishad ke ‘shravishthardh’ shabd mean jo ‘ardh’ pad hai usaka arth ‘thik adha’ karana chahiye, athava “dhanishtha aur shatataraka ke bich kisi sthan par” karana chahiye. parantu chahe jo kaha jaye, isamean to kuchh bhi sandeh nahian, ki vedaangajyotish ke pahale ki udagayan sthiti ka varnan maitryupanishad mean kiya gaya hai, aur vahi us samay ki sthiti honi chahiye. atev yah kahana chahiye, ki vedaangajyotish-kal ka udagayan, maitryupanishadakalin udagayan ki apeksha lagabhag adhe nakshatr se pichhe hat aya tha. jyotirganit se yah siddh hota hai, ki vedaangajyotish [2]mean kahi gee udagayan sthiti eesaee san ke lagabhag 1200 ya 1400 varsh pahale ki hai; aur adhe nakshatr se udagayan ke pichhe hatane mean lagabhag 480 varsh lag jate haian.
