usaka praramh‍bh un do nishh‍thaoan se hi kiya gaya hai ki jinh‍hean is sansar ke jnani manushh‍yoan ne grahy mana hai aur jinh‍hean ‘karm chho dana‘ ( saankhh‍y ) aur ‘ karm karana ‘ ( yog ) kahate haian: tatha yuddh karane ki avashh‍yakata ki upapatti pahale saankhh‍y–nishh‍tha ke anusar batalaee gayi hai. paranatu jab yah dekha gaya ki is upapatti se kam nahian chalata-yah adhoori hai-tab phir turant hi yog ya karmayog-marg ke anusar jnan batalana aramh‍bh kiya hai; aur yah batalane ke pashh‍chath, ki is karmayog ka alh‍p acharan bhi kitana shreyash‍kar hai, doosare adhh‍yay mean bhagavanh ne apane upadesh ko is sh‍than tak pahancha diya hai-ki jab karmayog-marg mean karm ki apeksha vah buddhi hi shreshh‍th mani jati hai jisase karm karane ki prerana hua karati hai, to ab sthitaprajn ki naee too apani buddhi ko sam karake apana karm kar, jisase too kadapi pap ka bhagi n hoga. ab dekhana hai ki age kaun kaun se prashh‍n upasthit hote haian. gita ke sare upapadan ki j d doosare adhh‍yay mean hi hai; isaliye isake vishay ka vivechan yahaan kuchh vish‍tar se kiya gaya hai.

tisare adhh‍yay ke aramh‍bh mean arjun ne prashh‍n kiya hai, ki ‘’yadi karmayogamarg mean bhi karm ki apeksha buddhi hi shreshh‍th mani jati hai, to maian abhi sthitaprajn ki naee apani buddhi ko sam kiye leta hooan; phir ap mujhase is yuddh ke saman ghor karm karane ke liye kahate haian? ‘’isaka karan yah hai, ki karm ki apeksha buddhi ko shreshh‍th kah dene se hi is prashan ka nirnay nahian ho jata hai ki- ‘’yuddh kh‍yoan karean? buddhi ko sam rakh kar udasin kh‍yoan n baianthe rahean?‘’ buddhi ko sam rakhane par bhi karm-sannh‍yas kiya jata hai. phir jis manushh‍y ki buddhi sam ho gee hai use saankhh‍yamarg ke anusar karmoan ka th‍yag karane mean kh‍ya harj hai? is prashh‍n ka uth‍tar bhagavanh is prakar dete haian, ki pahale tujhe saankhh‍y aur yog namak do nishh‍thaean batalaee haian sahi; paranh‍tu yah bhi sh‍maran rahe ki kisi manushh‍y ke karmoan ka sarvatha chhoot asamh‍bhav hai. jab tak vah dehadhari hai tab tak prakriti sh‍vabhavat: usase karm karavegi hi; aur jabaki prakriti ke ye karm chhootate hi nahian hai, tab to indriy-nigrah ke dvara buddhi ko sthir aur sam karake keval karmendriyoan se hi apane apane sab karttavh‍y karmoan ko karate rahana adhik shreyasakar hai. isaliye too karm kar; yadi karm nahian karega to tujhe khane tak ko n milega[1].
