man aur akash ko lijiye, athava vh‍yakh‍t upasana-marg ke anusar shalagram, shivaliang ith‍yadi ko lijiye, ya shriram, krishh‍na adi avatari purushoan ki athava sadhupurushoan ki vh‍yakh‍t moorti ka chinh‍tan kijiye, mandiroan mean shilamay athava dhatumay dev-moorti ko dekhiye, athava bina moorti ka mandir ya masjid lijiye;-ye sab lang de ki lathi ya kub di ke saman man ko sthir karane ke liye arthath chith‍t ki vritti ko parameshh‍var ki or jhukane ke sadhan haian. prath‍yek manushh‍y apani apani ichh‍chha aur adhikar ke anusar upasana ke liye kisi pratik ko sh‍vikar kar leta hai; yah pratik chahe kitana hi ph‍yara ho, paranh‍tu is bat ko nahian bhoolana chahiye ki sath‍y parameshh‍var is ‘’pratik mean nahian hai‘’–‘’n pratike n hi s:‘’[1]-usake pare hai. isi hetu se bhagavadgita mean bhi siddhanh‍t kiya gaya hai ki ‘’jinh‍hean meri maya maloom nahian hai ve moodhajan mujhe nahian janate‘’[2]. bhaktimarg mean manushh‍y ka uddhar karane ki jo shakti hai vah kuchh sajiv athava nirjiv moorti mean ya path‍tharoan ki imaratoan mean nahian hai; kinh‍tu us pratik mean upasak apane subhite ke liye jo eeshh‍var-bhavana rakhata hai, vahi yatharth mean tarak hoti hai.

chahe pratik path‍thar ka ho, mitti ka ho, dhatu ka ho ya anh‍y kisi padarth ka ho; usaki yogh‍yata ‘pratik‘ se adhik kabhi ho nahian sakati. is pratik mean jaisa hamara bhav hoga thik usi ke anusar hamari bhakti ka phal parameshh‍var-pratik nahian-hamean diya karata hai. phir aisa bakhe da machane se kh‍ya labh ki hamara pratik shreshh‍th hai aur tumh‍hara nikrishh‍t? yadi bhav shuddh n ho to keval pratik ki uth‍tamata se hi kh‍ya labh hoga? din bhar logoan ko dhokha dene aur phansane ka dhandha karake subah sham ya kisi th‍yohar ke din devalay mean dev-darshan ke liye athava kisi nirakar dev ke mandir mean upasana ke liye jane se parameshvar ki prapti asamh‍bhav hai. katha sunane ke liye devalay mean janevale kuchh manushh‍yoan ka varnan ramadas sh‍vami ne is prakar kiya hai- ‘’koee koee vishayi log katha sunate samay striyoan hi ki or ghoora karate haian; chor log padatran ( joote ) chura le jate haian ‘’[3]. yadi keval devalay mean ya devata ki moorti hi mean tarak-shakti ho, to aise logoan ko bhi mukti keval moksh hi ke liye ki jati hai, paranh‍tu jinh‍hean kisi vh‍yavaharik ya sh‍varth ki vash‍tu chahiye ve bhinh‍n bhinh‍n devataoan ki aradhana karean.
