is uparokt vivechan se spasht hai ki “dharm” shabd b da hi vyapak v vistrit hai tatha isaka prayog anekanek arthoan mean, bhavoan mean, paristhitiyoan mean bhinn-bhinn prakar se vah prathakh-prathak roop mean kiya jata hai. ek sthan v ek paristhiti mean kisi vyakti ya samaj ke lie jo karm, kartavy, acharan, athava kriya-vyapar karaniy kartavy ya dharm hota hai vahi acharan ya kriya-kalap any sthan par ya bhinn paristhiti mean rahane valoan ke lie nishiddhay va akaraniy hote haian. dharm kya hai? is jatilata ko saral karane ke lie tattvadarshiyoan ne tatha dharmajnoan ne “dharm” ko do bhagoan mean

  1. ek vyavaharik arth mean, aur
  2. doosara paralaukik arth mean vibhakt kar diya hai, jinaka svaroop nimn prakar hai-

(1) vyavaharik arth mean dharm-vyavaharik upayog mean “dharm” se tatpary sadachar v karaniy kartavy-karm se hota hai. tatkalin samaj-vyavasthanusar jo karaniy karm nirupit kie jate haian aur jo sarvamany v praman svaroop hote haian vah karm dharm-sanjnak hote haian. atah vyavaharik dharm ke antargat chaturvarn dharm, jati-dharm, kul-dharm, samaj-dharm, purush-dharm, nari-dharm, mitr-dharm, praja-dharm, raj-dharm ityadi samast dharm a jate haian.

jo niyam v shishtachar samaj dharanarth vishisht jan-samuday pratyek samaj ki paristhitiyoan ko tatha gun v svabhav ko dekhakar nirdharit karata hai aur jo sarvamany v prachalit ho jate haian vahi niyam v shishtachar samaj vishesh ke dharmik achar mane jate haian. atah vyavaharik arth mean “acharah paramo dharmah” athava “acharah prabhavo dharmah” dharm ki vyakhya ki gee hai. samaj dharana ke lie manushy ke svabhavik acharan ka pratibandhan hi dharm kaha gaya hai. yadi svabhavik acharan arthath indriyoan dvara prerit manovrittiyoan ko simit, maryadit, v pratibandhit n kiya jave to manushy mean aur pashu mean koee bhed n rahe. manushy ki indriyaan manushy ko pashu ke saman hi acharan karane ko usake jnan v vivek ko avrit karake prerit v protsahit karati rahati haian kintu yadi vah apane vivek se indriyoan ki prerana ko tiraskrit karake antahkaran ke nirdeshanusar acharan karata hai to vah acharan “dharmacharan” kahalata hai, isake viparit jo acharan antahkaran ke viruddh indriyoan ki prerananusar kiya jata hai vah “adharmachar” kahalata hai.
