sattvagun, rajogun aur tamogun ki utpatti ka varnan

krishn kahate haian- he arjun! sattvagun, rajogun aur tamogun- ye prakriti se utpann tinoan gun[2] avinashi jivatma ko sharir mean baandhate haian.[3] he nishpap! un tinoan gunoan me sattvagun to nirmal hone ke karan prakash karane vala aur vikar rahit hai,[4] vah sukh ke sambandh se aur jnan ke sambandh se arthat unake abhiman se baandhata hai.[5] he arjun! ragaroop rajogun ko kamana aur asakti se utpann jan.[6] vah is jivatma ko karmoan ke aur unake phal ke sambandh se baandhata hai.[7] he arjun! sab dehabhimaniyoan ko mohit karane vale[8] tamogun ko to ajnan se utpann jan.[9] vah is jivatmoan ko pramad, alasy aur nidra ke dvara baandhata hai.[10] sambandh- is prakar sattv, raj aur tam-in tinoan gunoan ka svaroop aur unake dvara jivatma ke baandhe jane ka prakar batalakar ab un tinoan gunoan ka svabhavit vyapar batalate haian. he arjun! sattvagun sukh mean lagata hai[11] aur rajogun karm mean[12] tatha tamogun to jnan ko dhakakar pramad mean bhi lagata hai.[13] sambandh-sattv adi tinoan gun jis samay apane-apane kary mean jivoan ko niyukt karate haian, us samay ve aisa karane mean kis prakar samarth hote haian- yah bat agale shlok mean batalate haian.[1] he arjun! rajogun aur tamogun ko dabakar sattvagun,[14] sattvagun aur tamogun ko dabakar rajogun,[15] vaise hi sattvagun aur rajogun ko dabakar tamogun[16] hota hai. arthat badhata hai.[17]

sambandh- gyarahavean, barahavean aur terahavean shlokoan mean sattv, raj aur tamogun ki vriddhi ke lakshan ka kram se varnan kiya gaya is par yah janane ki achchha hoti hai ki ‘jnan’ adi ki utpatti ko sattv adi gunoan ki vriddhi ke lakshan kyoan mana gaya. atev kary ki utpatti se karan ki satta ko jan lene ke liye jnan adi ki utpatti mean sattv adi gunoan ko karan batalate hai.[22] sattvagun jnan[29] utpann hota hai aur rajogun se nisandeh lobh[30]tatha tamogun se pramad aur moh utpann hote haian, aur ajnan bhi hota hai. sattvagun sthit purush svargadi uchch lokoan ko jate haian, rajogun mean sthit rajas purush madhy mean arthat manushyalok mean hi rahate haian aur tamogun ke karyaroop nidra, pramad aur alasyadi mean sthit tamas purush adhogati ko arthat kit, pashu adi nich yoniyoan ka tatha narakoan ko prapt hote haian.[31]

  2. abhipray yah hai ki gun tin hai sattv, raj aur tam unake nam haian aur tinoan paraspar bhinn haian. ye tinoan gun prakriti ke kary haian evan samast jad padarth inhi tinoan ka vistar hai.
  3. jisaka sharir mean abhiman hai, usi par in gunoan ka prabhav p data hai aur vastav mean svaroop se vah sab prakar ke vikaroan se rahit aur avinashi, atevan unaka bandhan ho hi nahian sakata. anadisiddh ajnan ke karan usane bandhan man rakha hai. in tinoan gunoan jo apane anuroop bhagoan mean aur sharir mean isaka mamatv, asakti aur abhiman utpann kar dena hai- yahi un tinoan gunoan ka usako sharir mean baandh dena hai.
  4. sattvagun svaroop sarvatha nirmal hai, usamean kisi bhi prakar ka koee dosh nahian hai isi karan vah prakashak aur anamay hai. usase antahkaran aur indriyoan mean prakash ki vaddhi hoti hai evan duahkh, vikshep, durgun, aur duracharoan ka nash hokar shaanti ki prapti hoti hai.
  5. sukh shabd yahaan gita ke atharavean adhyay ke chhattisavean aur saianttisavean shlokoan mean jisake lakshan batalaye gaye haian, us sattvik sukh ka vachak hai. us sukh ki prapti ke samay jo maian sukhi hooan is prakar abhiman ho jata hai tatha jnan bodhashakti ka nam hai usake prakat hone par jo usamean 'maian jnani hooan', aisa abhiman ho jata hai vah use gunatit avastha se vanchit rakh deta hai, at: yahi sattvagun jivatma ko sukh aur jnan sang se baandhata hai.
  6. kamana aur asakti se rajogun badhata hai tatha rajogun se kamana aur asakti badhati hai. isaka paraspar bij aur vriksh ki bhaanti anyonyashray sambandh hai isamean rajogun bijasthaniy aur kamana, asakti adi vriksh sthaniy haian. bij vriksh se hi utpann hota hai, tathapi vriksh ka karan bhi bij hi hai isi bat ko spasht karane ke liye kahian rajogun se kamadi ki utpatti aur kahian kamanadi se rajogun ki utpatti batalayi gayi hai.
  7. ‘in sab karmoan ko maian karata hooan’ karmoan mean kartapan ke is abhimanapoorvak ‘mujhe isaka amuk phal milega’ aisa manakar karmoan ke aur unake phaloan ke sath apana sambandh sthapit kar lene ka nam ‘karmasang’ hai; isake dvara rajogun jo is jivatma ko janm-mrityu sansar mean phॅsaye rakhana hai, vahi usaka karm sang ke dvara jivatma baandhana hai.

  9. is adhyay ke satarahavean shlok mean to ajnan ki utpatti tamogun se batalayi hai. aur yahaan tamogun ko ajnan se utpann batalaya gaya- isaka abhipray yah hai ki tamogun se ajnan badhata hai aur ajnan se tamogun badhata haian. in donoan mean bhi bij aur vriksh ki bhaanti anyonyashray sambandh hai, ajnan bij sthaniy hai aur tamogun vriksh sthaniy hai.
  10. antahkaran aur indriyoan vyarth cheshta ka evan shastravihit kartavy palan mean avahelana ka nam ‘pramad’ hai. kartavy-karmoan mean apravritiroop nirooghamata ka nam ‘alasy’ hai. tandra svapn aur sushupti-in sab ka nam ‘nidra’ hai. in sab ke dvara jo tamogun ka is jivatma ko mukt ke sadhan se sanchit rakhakar janm-mrityu roop sansar mean phॅsaye rakhana hai- yahi usaka pramad, alasy aur nidra ke dvara jivatma baandhana hai.
  11. ‘sukh’ shabd jahaan sattvik sukh ka vachak hai (gita 28/36,37) aur sattvagun jo in manushy ko saansarik bhogoan aur cheshtaoan se tatha pramad, alasy aur nidra se hatakar atmachintan adi ke dvara sattvik sukh se sanyukt kar dena hai- yahi usako sukh mean lagana hai.
  12. ‘karm’ shabd yahaan (is lok aur paralok ke bhog roop phal dene vale) shastravihit sakamakarmoan ka vachak hai. nana prakar ke bhogoan ki achchha utpann karake unaki prapti ke liye un karmoan mean manushy ko pravrit kar dena hi rajogun ka manushy ko un karmoan mean lagana hai.
  13. jab tamogun badhata hai, tab vah kabhi to manushy ki kartavy-akartavy ka nirnay karane vali vivekashakti ko nasht kar deta haian aur kabhi antahkaran aur indriyoan ki chetana ko nasht karake nidra ki vritti utpann kar deta haian yahi usaka manushy ke jnan ko achchhadit karana hai aur kartavyapalan mean avahelana karake vyarth cheshtaoan mean niyukt kar dena pramad mean lagana hai.
  14. rajogun ke kary lobh, pravritti aur bhogavasanadi tatha tamogun ke kary nidra, alasy aur pramad adi ko dabakar jo sattvagun ka jnan, prakash aur sukh adi ko utpann kar dena hai, yahi rajogun aur tamogun ko dabakar sattvagun badh jana hai.
  15. jis samay sattvagun aur tamogun ki pravriti ko rokakar tamogun apana kary arambh karata hai, us samay sharir, indriy aur antahkaran chanchalata, ashaanti, lobh, bhogavasana aur nana prakar ke karmoan mean pravrit hone ki utkasht ichchha utpann ho jati hai- yahi sattvagun aur pramodagun dabakar rajogun badh jata hai.
  16. jis samay sattvagun aur rajogun ki pravriti ko rokakar tamogun apana kary arambh karata hai, us samay sharir, indriyaan,aur antahkaran moh adi badh jate haian aur pramad mean pravriti ho jati hai, vritiyaan vivekashoony ho jati hai- yahi sattvagun aur rajogun ko dabakar tamogun ka badhana hai.

  19. sharir mean chetana, halakapan tatha indriy aur antahkaran mean nirmalata aur chetana ki adhikata ho jana hi ‘prakash’ ka utpann hona hai evan saty-asaty tatha kartavy-arkatavy nirnay karane vali viveshakti ka jagrat ho jana ‘jnan’ ka utpann hona hai. jis samay prakash aur jnan- in donoan ka pradurbhav hota hai, us samay duahkh, shok, chianta, bhay, chanchalata, nidra, alasy aur pramad adi ka abhav sa ho jata hai. us samay manushy ko savadhan hokar apana man bhajan-dhyan mean lagane ki cheshta karani chahiye tabhi sattvagun ki pravriti adhik samay thahar sakati hai anyatha usaki avahelana kar dene se shighr hi tamogun ya rajogun use dabakar apana kary arambh kar sakate haian.

  21. manushy indriy aur antahkaran mean dipti ka abhav ho jana hi ‘aprakash’ ka utpann hona haian. koee bhi karm achchha nahian lagata, keval pade rahakar hi samay bitane ki ichchha hona, yah ‘apravriti’ ka utpann hona hai. sharir aur indriyoan dvara vyarth cheshta karate rahana aur kartavyakarm mean avahelana karana, yah ‘pramad’ ka utpann hona hai. man ka mohit ho jana kisi bat ki smriti n rahana tandra, svapr ya sushupti-avastha ka prapt ho jana vivek shakti ka abhav ho jana kisi vishay ko samajhane ki shakti ka n rahana- yahi sab ‘moh’ ka utpann hona hai. ye sab lakshan tamogun ki vriddhi ke samay utpann hote hai, atev inamean se koee sa bhi lakshan apane mean dekha jaye, tab manushy ko samajhana chahiye ki tamogun badha hua hai.

  23. is prakan mean aise manushy ki gati ka niroopan kiya jata hai, jisaki svabhavik sthiti doosare gunoan mean hote hue bhi sattvik gun vriddhi mean mrityu ho jati hai. aise manushy mean jis samay poorv sanskar adi kisi karan se sattvagun badh jata hai- arthat jis samay gyarahavean shlok ke varnananusar usake samast sharir, indriy aur antahkaran mean ‘prakash’ aur ‘jnan’ utpann ho jata hai, us samay sthool sharir se man, indriyoan aur pranoan ke sahit jivatma sambandh vichchhed ho jana hi sattvagun ki vriddhi mean mrityu ko prapt hona hai.
  24. sattvik aur tamas purush bhi hriday mean jis samay barahavean shlok ke anusar lobh, pravritti adi rajas bhav badhe hue hote haian, us samay jo sthool sharir se man, indriyoan aur pramanoan ke sahit jivatma ka sambandh vichchhed ho jana hai- vahi rajogun ki vriddhi mean mrityu ko prapt hona hai.
  25. jis samay sattvik aur rajas purush ke bhi hriday mean terahavean shlok ke anusar aprakash apravritti aur pramad adi tamas bhav badhe hue hoan, us samay jo sthool sharir se man, indriyoan aur pranoan ke sahit jivatma ka sambandh vichchhed ho jana hai, vahi tamogun ki vriddhi mean mrityu ko prapt hona hai.
  26. jo shastravihit kartavy-karm nishkamabhav se kiye jate haian, un sattvik karmoan ke sanskaroan se antahkaran mean jo jnan vairagyadi nirmal bhavoan ka bar bar pradurbhav hota rahata hai aur marane ke bad jo duahkh aur doshoan se rahit divy prakashamay lokoan ki prapti hoti hai, vahi unaka ‘sattvik aur nirmal phal’ hai.
  27. jo karm bhogoan ki prapti ke liye ahankarapoovark bahut parishram ke sath kiye (gita 28/24), ve rajas hai. aise karmoan ke karate samay to parishramaroop duahkh hota hi hai, parantu usake bad bhi ve duahkh hi dete rahate haian. usake sanskaroan ke antahkaran mean bar bar bhog, kamana, lobh aur pravritti adi rajas bhav sphurit hote haian- jinase man vikshipt hokar ashaanti aur duahkhoan se bhar jata hai. un karmoan ke phalasvaroop jo bhog prapt hote haian, ve bhi ajnan sukharoop dikhane par bhi vastutah duahkh roop hi hote haian aur phal bhogane ke liye jo bar bar janm maran ke chakr mean p de rahana p data hai, vah to mahan duahkh hai hi.

  29. yahaan ‘jnan’ shabd se yah samajhana chahiye ki jnan, prakash, aur sukh, shaanti adi sabhi sattvik bhavoan ki utpatti sattvagun se hoti haian.
  30. yahaan lobh shabd se bhi yahi samajhana chahiye ki lobh, pravriti, asakti, kamana, svarthapoorvak karmoan ka arambh adi sabhi rajas bhavoan ki utpatti rajogun se hoti hai.
  31. chaudahavean aur pandrahavean shlokoan mean to doosare gunoan mean svabhavik sthiti hote hue bhi maranakal mean jis gun ki vriddhi mean mrityu hoti haian, usi ke anusar gati hone ki bat kahi gayi haian aur yahaan jinaki svabhavik sthayi sthiti sattvadi gunoan mean hai, unaki gati ke bhed ka varnan kiya gaya hai. isaliye hi yahaan sada tamogun ke karyoan mean sthit rahane vale tamas manushy ko narakadi ki prapti hone ki bat bhi kahi gayi hai.
  32. manushy svabhavik to apane ko shariradhari samajhakar karta aur bhokta bana rahata hai, parantu jis samay shastr aur achary ke upadesh dvara vivek prapt karake vah apane ko drishta samajhane lag jata hai, us samay ka varnan yahaan kiya jata hai.
  33. indriy, antahkaran aur pran adi ki shravan, darshan, khan-pan, chintan-man, shayan-asan aur vyavahar adi sabhi svabhavik cheshtaoan ke hote samay sada-sarvada apane ko nirgun-nirakar sachchidanandaghan brahm mean abhinnabhav se sthit dekhate hue jo aise samajhata hai ki gunoan ke atirikt any koee karta nahian hai gunoan ke kary indriy, man, buddhi aur pran adi hi gunoan ke karyaroop indriyadi ke vishayoan mean barat rahe haian (gita 5/7/9) atah gun hi gunoan mean barat rahe hai (gita 3/28) mera inase kuchh bhi sambandh nahian hai- yahi gunoan se atirikt any kisi ko karta n dekhana hai.
  34. apane ko nirgun nirakar brahma se abhinn samajh lene par jo us ekamatr sachchidananh‍dan brahm se bhinn kisi bhi satta ka n rahana aur sarvatr evan sada sarvada keval paramatma ka pratyaksh ho jana hi use tattv se janana hai. aisi sthiti ke bad jo sachchidananh‍dan brahm ki abhinnabhav se sakshat prapti ho jati hai. vahi bhagavadrav yani bhagavan ke svaroop ko prapt hona hai.
  35. raj aur tam ka sambandh chhootane ke bad yadi sattvgun se sambandh bana rahe to ve bhi mukti mean badhak hokar pun-janm ka karan ban sakata hai; atev usaka sambandh bhi tyag dena chahiye. atma vastav mean asang hai. gunoan ke sath, usaka kuchh bhi samh‍banh‍dh nahian hai tathapi jo anadisiddh ajnan se inake sath sambandh hua hai, us sambandh ko jnan ke dvara to d dena aur apane ko nirgun-nirakar sachchidananh‍dan brahm se abhinn aur gunoan se sarvatha sambandharahit samajh lena arthat pratyaksh anubhav kar lena hi gunoan se atit ho jana yani tina gunoan ka ullanghan karana hai.
  36. janm aur maran tatha bal, yuva aur vriddhavastha sharir ki hoti hai evan adhi aur vyadhi adi sab prakar ke duahkh bhi indriy, man aur pran adi ke sanghataroop sharir mean hi vyapt rahate haian. atah tattvajnan ke dvara sharir se sarvatha sambandh rahit ho jana hi janm, mrityu, jara aur duahkhoan se sarvatha mukt ho jana hai tatha jo amritasvaroop sachchidananh‍dan brahm ko abhinnabhav se pratyaksh kar lena hai, jise unnisavean shlok mean bhagavadrav ki prapti nam se kaha gaya hai- vahi yahaan ‘amrit’ ka anubhav karana hai.
