samah shatrau ch mitrai ch tatha manapamanayoah . arth- jo shatru aur mitr mean tatha man-apaman mean sam hai aur shit-ushn (anukoolata-pratikoolata) tatha sukh-duahkh mean sam hai evan asakti se rahit hai, aur jo nianda-stuti ko saman samajhane vala, mananashil, jis kisi prakar se bhi (sharir ka nirvah hone mean) santusht, rahane ke sthan tatha sharir mean mamata-asakti se rahit aur sthir buddhi vala hai, vah bhaktiman manushy mujhe priy hai. vyakhya- ‘samah shatrau ch mitre ch’- yahaan bhagavan ne bhakt mean vyaktiyoan ke prati hone vali samata ka varnan kiya hai. sarvatr bhagavadbuddhi hone tatha rag-dvesh se rahit hone ke karan siddh bhakt ka kisi ke bhi prati shatru-mitr ka bhav nahian rahata. log hi usake vyavahar mean apane svabhav ke anusar anukoolata ya pratikoolata ko dekhakar usamean mitrata ya shatruta ka arop kar lete haian. sadharan logoan ka to kahana hi kya hai, savadhan rahane vale sadhanoan ka bhi us siddh bhakt ke prati mitrata aur shatruta ka ka bhav ho sakata hai. parantu bhakt apane-ap mean sadaiv poornataya sam rahata hai. usake hriday mean kabhi kisi ke prati shatru-mitr ka bhav utpann nahian hota. man liya jae ki bhakt ke prati shatruta aur mitrata ka bhav rakhane vale do vyaktiyoan mean dhan ke bantavare se sanbandhit koee vivad ho jae aur usaka nirnay karane ke lie ve bhakt ke pas jaean, to bhakt ka dhan bantavara karate samay shatru-bhav vale vyakti ko kuchh adhik aur mitr-bhav vale vyakti ko kuchh kam dhan dega. yadyapi bhakt ke is nirnay (vyavahar) mean vishamata dikhati hai, tathapi shatru-bhav vale vyakti ko is nirnay mean samata dikhayi degi ki isane pakshapatarahit bantavara kiya hai. atah bhakt ke is nirnay mean vishamata (pakshapat) dikhane par bhi vastav mean yah (samata ko utpann karane vala hone se) samata hi kahalayegi. uparyukt padoan se yah bhi siddh hota hai ki siddh bhakt ke sath hi log (apane bhav ke anusar) shatruta-mitrata ka vyavahar karate haian aur usake vyavahar se apane ko usaka shatru-mitr man lete haian. isilie use yahaan shatru-mitr se rahit n kahakar ‘shatru-mitr mean sam’ kaha gaya hai. ‘tatha manapamanayoah’- man apaman parakrit kriya hai, jo sharir ke prati hoti hai. bhakt ki apane kahalane vale sharir mean n to ahanta hoti hai, n mamata. isalie sharir ka man-apaman hone par bhi bhakt ke aantahkaran mean koee vikar (harsh-shok) paida nahian hota. vah nity-nirantar samata mean sthit rahata hai. ‘shitoshnasukhaduahkheshu samah’- in padoan mean do sthanoan par siddh bhakt ki samata batayi gayi hai-
