brahm ka varnan keval usake astitv ke roop mean hi kiya ja sakata hai, kyoanki vah sab visheshanoan se pare hai; vishesh roop se karta, karm aur jnan ki kriya ke sab bhedoan se oopar hai. isalie use vyakti-roop mean nahian mana ja sakata aur usake prati koee prem ya shraddha nahian ki ja sakati. shankarachary ka mat hai ki jahaan man ko shuddh karane ke lie sadhan ke roop mean karm atyant avashyak hai, vahaan jnan prapt ho jane par karm door chhoot jata hai. jnan aur karm ek-doosare ke thik vaise hi virodhi haian, jaise prakash aur andhakar.[1] vah jnan-karmasamuchchay[2] ke drishtikon ko svikar nahian karata. usaka vishvas hai ki vaidik vidhiyaan keval un logoan ke lie haian, jo ajnan aur lalasa mean doobe hue haian.[3] mukti ke abhilashiyoan ko karmakand ki vidhiyoan ka parityag kar dena chahie. shankarachary ke matanusar, gita ka uddeshy is bahy [4] sansar[5] ka poorn daman hai, jisamean ki sara karm hota hai, yadyapi shankarachary ka apana jivan jnan-prapti ke bad bhi karm karate jane ka udaharan hai.
shankarachary ke drishtikon ka vikas anandagiri ne, jo sambhavatah terahavian shatabdi mean hue, shridhar[6] ne aur madhusoodan[7] ne tatha any kuchh lekhakoan ne kiya. maharashtriy sant tukaram aur jnaneshvar mahan bhakt the, yadyapi adhividya mean unhoanne shankarachary ke mat ko svikar kiya.

ramanujan[8] ne apani tika mean sansar ki avastavikata aur karm-tyag ke marg ke siddhant ka khandan kiya. usane yamunachary dvara apane ‘gitarthasangrah’ mean pratipadit vyakhya ka anusaran kiya. brahm sarvochch vastavikata, atma hai. parantu vah nirgun nahian hai. usamean atmachetana hai aur apana jnan bhi hai, aur sansar ke srijan ki aur apane jivoan ko mukti pradan karane ki sachet ichchha bhi usamean hai. sab adarsh gunoan, asim aur anant gunoan ka vah adhar hai. vah sare sansar se pahale aur sare sansar se oopar hai. us jaisa doosara koee nahian hai. vaidik devata usake sevak haian, jinhean ki usane banaya hai aur unake niyam kartavyoan ko poora karane ke lie un-unake sthanoan par unhean niyukt kiya hai. sansar koee maya ya bhram nahian hai, balki saty aur vastavik hai. sansar aur paramatma thik vaise hi ek haian, jaise sharir aur atma ek haian. ve samooche roop mean ek haian, parantu sath hi aparivartaniy roop se paraspar bhinn bhi haian. srishti se pahale sansar ek sambhavit[9]roop mean rahata hai, jo is samay vidyaman aur vibhinn prakat roopoan mean vikasit nahian hua hota. srishti hone par yah nam aur roop mean vikasit ho jata hai. sansar ko paramatma ka sharir batakar yah sujhav prastut kiya gaya hai ki sansar kisi vijatiy tattv se, jo doosara mool tattv ho, bana hua nahian hai, apitu ise bhagavan ne svayan apani prakriti mean se hi utpann kiya hai.
