is sansar mean, sab logoan ki sammati ke anusar yah ahiansa dharm, sab dharmoan mean, shresht mana gaya hai. parantu ab kalpana kijiye ki hamari jan lene ke liye ya hamari stri athava kanya par balatkar karane ke liye, koee dusht manushh‍y hath mean shastr lekar taiyar ho jay aur us samay hamari raksha karane vala hamare pas koee n ho; to us samay hamako kya karana chahiye? kya "ahiansa paramodharmah" kahakar aise atatayi manushh‍y ki upeksha ki jay ya yadi vah sidhi tarah se n mane to yathashakti usaka shasan kiya jay, manuji kahate haian-

guruan va balavriddhau va brahmanan va bahushrutamh.
atatayinamayaantan hanyadevavicharayanh..

arthath" aise atatayi ya dusht manushh‍y ko avashy mar dalean; kiantu yah vichar n karean ki vah guru hai, boodha hai, balak hai ya vidvan brahman hai". shastrakar kahate hai ki[1] aise samay hatya karane ka pap hatya karane vale ko nahian lagata, kiantu atatayi manushh‍y apane adharm hi se mara jata hai. atmaraksha ka yah hak, kuchh maryada ke bhitar, adhunik phaujadari kanoon mean bhi svikrit kiya gaya hai. aise maukoan par ahiansa se atm raksha ki yogyata adhik mani jati hai. bhroon hatya sab se adhik nindaniy mani gee hai; parantu jab bachcha pet mean tedha hokar atak jata hai tab kya usako katakar nikal nahian dalana chahiye. yajn mean pashu ka vadh karana ved ne bhi prashast mana hai[2]; parantu pisht pashu ke dvara vah bhi tal sakata hai[3]. tathapi hava, pani, phal ityadi sab sthanoan mean jo saikadoan jiv-jantu haian unaki hatya kaise tali ja sakati hai mahabharat mean[4] arjun kahata haiah-
