kant ka mat bhi isi prakar ka hai; usane sh‍pashh‍t kah diya hai ki srishti ka jnan hone ke liye yadyapi manushy ki buddhi ka ekikaran avashyak hai, tathapi buddhi is jnan ko sarvatha apani hi gaanth se, arthath niradhar ya bilh‍kul naya nahian utpann kar deti, use srishti ki bahy vastuoan ki sadaiv apeksha rahati hai. yahaan koee prashn kare ki, ‘‘kyoanji! shankarachary ek bar bahy srishti ko mithya kahate haian aur phir doosari bar bauddhoan ka khandan karane mean usi bahy srishti ke astitv ko, ‘drashta’ ke astitv ke saman hi pratipadan karate haian! in bemel batoan ka milan hoga kaise?” par, is prashn ka uttar pahale hi batala chuke haian. achary jab bahy srishti ko mithya ya asaty kahate haian, tab usaka itana hi arth samajhana chahiye ki bahy srishti ka drishy nam-roop asaty arthath vinashavanh hai. nam-roopath‍mak bahy srishti ke mool mean kuchh n kuchh indriyatit saty vastu hai. kshetr-kshetrajn-vichar mean jis prakar yah siddhant kiya hai ki dehendriy adi vinashavanh nam-roopoan ke mool mean bhi kuchh n kuchh nity atmatattv hai.

atev vedantashastr ne nishchay kiya hai ki dehendriyoan aur bahy srishti ke nishidin badalane vale arthath mithya drishyoan ke mool mean, donoan hi or koee nity arthath saty dravy chhipa hua hai. isake age ab prashn hota hai ki donoan or jo ye nity sattv haian, ve alag alag haian ya ekaroopi haian. parantu isaka vichar phir kareange. is mat par mauke-bemauke isaki arvachinata ke sambandh mean jo akshep hua karata hai, abhi usi ka tho da sa vichar karate haian. kuchh log kahate haian ki bauddhoan ka vijnan-vad yadi vedant-shastr ko sammat nahian hai, to shrishankarachary ke maya-vad ka bhi to prachin upanishadoan mean varnan nahian hai; isaliye use bhi vedanh‍tashastr ka mool bhag nahian man sakate. shrishankarachary ka mat, ki jise maya-vad kahate haian, yah hai ki bahy srishti ka, aankhoan se dekh p dane vala hai nam roopath‍mak sh‍varoop mithh‍ya hai; usake mool mean jo avh‍yay aur nith‍y dravh‍y hai vahi saty hai. parantu upanishadoan ka man laga kar adhyayan karane se koee bhi sahaj hi jan pavega. ki yah akshep niradhar hai. yah pahale hi batala chuke haian ki ‘saty’ shabd ka upayog sadharan vyavahar mean aankhoan se pratyaksh dekh p dane vali vastu ke liye kiya jata hai.
